It looks very nice.

and breathe...

Yes this is good old MN - us all on here complaining and hyperventilating about Change. Excellent effort - shall continue to dislike any and all changes and moan and grumble.

Makes me glad I'm still here Grin

Hello! Damian is working away at fix so that you can permanently opt out of the drop down in Customise... hard to say whether the death threats are speeding him up or slowing him down Smile. (Be nice he's only a young lad).

(ps if anyone should be shot it should by rights be DarrenMumsnet)

DamianTech · 21/04/2011 15:17

Hi all,

You can now hide the "dangly" bar by going into Customise (it's right at the bottom). Apologies for the wait and I hope the death threats weren't sincere! I don't get paid enough to be shot at! Grin

We've also fixed it so that you should be able to reach the X button on the bar even at 1024 screen width (this was originally an oversight).

You'll also now find Threads I'm On in the nav bar under Talk. :)

"viewpoint bar aka slide bar"
why not "aka dangly bar" ?

Thanks!
I have disabled mine..

RustyBear · 21/04/2011 15:26

Thanks for the Threads I'm on link!
[bugrin]

And the Easter bunnies!

nickelbaalamb · 21/04/2011 15:50

although some of the Easter bunnies are wrong.

biscuit is wrong
and confused is wrong.

[buhmm]

DamianTech · 21/04/2011 16:12

They should appear in the right order now. These bunnies are rather unruly! [busmile]

nickelbaalamb · 21/04/2011 17:00

Ta! [bugrin]

thumbbunny · 22/04/2011 06:59

did you do [bubear]?

CAn I just ask, tis only a question - why bu in front of the smiley names, instead of just b? It amuses me though, when I see things like bushock and bugrin in my post [bugrin]

RustyBear · 22/04/2011 10:43

[bgrin] etc is for Burns Night - if you look at the code behind the page the various festive emoticons are all still there, just disabled and hidden, so they can be used again next year.

thumbbunny · 22/04/2011 10:45

oh, I see. makes sense now, thank you Rusty [busmile] (couldn't they have done e for Easter?)

gillybean2 · 22/04/2011 10:48

I guess they may want to use the bunny for things other than easter. Possibly playboy day or something!? [bugrin]

nannynick · 22/04/2011 14:38

DamianTech - to give you something else to work on fix, when I click I'm On I get a list of posts. If I then click Last 15 Minutes it appears to log me out of Mumsnet. It doesn't actually do that as I can click I'm On and it gives me the list, so not sure exactly what Last 15 Minutes is doing.

Anyone seeing the Wecome To Mumsnet Become A Member For Free and the Log In and Join buttons when clicking on Last 15 Minutes ?

Itsjustafleshwound · 22/04/2011 14:41

Thanks to being able to hide the dangle bars ...

thumbbunny · 22/04/2011 14:42

Well I never normally use Last 15mins but have just done that and yes, the box that says "Logout" now says "LogIn" and the Welcome to Mumsnet Join it for Free banner appears above the list of the threads that have been active in the last 15 minutes. Intriguing.

NetworkGuy · 23/04/2011 15:45

"... I'm the only person still using 1024x768 again?"

No, BertieB, you're not the only one, and on Firefox (v3.6.15, on Win XP) the thing to close isn't visible because of the up/down scroll bar at the right-hand side.

Good to see it can now be disabled completely.

I've also just removed the Twitter box too :)
