WillieWaggledagger · 20/04/2011 11:32

it was sudden wasn't it!

LIZS · 20/04/2011 11:34

Can I complain if I haven't lost 24lbs , but gained since been on MN

clayre · 20/04/2011 11:35

I only nipped for a wee and came back to this!!!

thumbbunny · 20/04/2011 11:35

It LOOKS lovely but oh no no NO NO NO!!! to that bloody drop down thingy that appears every time you scroll down the page!!
Yes, I KNOW it has a teeny tiny cross in TRC so you can close it, but quite frankly I'd rather not have to bother!

PLEASE PLEASE take it away!!!!

RubberDuck · 20/04/2011 11:36

Oh I don't like the drop down thingie at the top though. It keeps popping in and out - it's driving me nuts!

RubberDuck · 20/04/2011 11:38

Okay where did the bloody options go?!!

Paschaelina · 20/04/2011 11:38

Yes the dropdownthingy is very irritating. Though I imagine in a week's time I will have stopped noticing it.

Other than that it looks a bit sharper and more modern.

BehindLockNumberNine · 20/04/2011 11:40

PLEASE get rid of that facebook/twitter/email/print drop down thing - it blocks the post at the top of the page and stays there all the while you are scrolling.

I hate it!! (feels blood pressure rising)

Please move it...

LIZS · 20/04/2011 11:40

No drop down here - on Classic

stream · 20/04/2011 11:40

Is there any way of switching off the drop down bar permanently? My laptop already does this sort of thing if you get too near the top of the screen and it's fucking irritating.

usualsuspect · 20/04/2011 11:41

I don't have a cross to click it off Confused

eaglewings · 20/04/2011 11:42

Thought it was just my computer, I don't want to twitter facebook or print!

GhostInTheBackOfYourHead · 20/04/2011 11:42

I just got rid of the drop down box, it took a second...
What's the biggie? Confused

BehindLockNumberNine · 20/04/2011 11:42

Could not find the cross to get rid - have now.

BertieBotts · 20/04/2011 11:42

Yes I hate the drop down thing as well. They really are my pet hate on websites. They mess up scrolling when I use page up/down, and some of us are viewing on tiny resolutions! At least give us an option to turn it off!:( The other changes I can live with.

eaglewings · 20/04/2011 11:43

The cross is too the far right, not on the bar itself

BertieBotts · 20/04/2011 11:43

I don't have a cross either.

RubberDuck · 20/04/2011 11:43

Ghost - it'll come back. The X doesn't close it permanently.

JustineMumsnet · 20/04/2011 11:44

Hello,
Sorry meant to say it was coming before we pressed the button but was in the loo Blush.
We will make the drop down search bar when you scroll down an option that you can turn off over the next day or so.
(do give it a little while though - you never know it could grow on you and you might find it useful!)

thumbbunny · 20/04/2011 11:44

I am on Classic as well and still have the fecking drop down that REAPPEARS every time you change the screen - ARGH!

BehindLockNumberNine · 20/04/2011 11:44

Oh for fucks sake - I turned the drop down thingy off, scrolled to top of the page and it re-appeared. I can't be doing with this every time I want to read something.
It is akin to a great big beetle landing on my magazine every time I turn the page!

GRRRR

washnomore · 20/04/2011 11:44

I'm on my phone and can't see any drop down box but when I scroll down a big blue mumsnet appears in the middle of the page for a few seconds. Much annoyingness.

BertieBotts · 20/04/2011 11:44

But the bar goes across my entire screen Confused

Is this when MNHQ try to tell me that I'm the only person still using 1024x768 again?

thumbbunny · 20/04/2011 11:45

NO NO NO Justine - it is not useful. I never log off and I don't link to any of those other sites from here either - an option to turn it off PERMANENTLY would be lovely thank you. As soon as you can, please.

savoycabbage · 20/04/2011 11:45

You have to click it off every time though. I usually click active conversations in my favourties as otherwise you have to scroll right to the top of the thread to get to it.
