I;m on classic too and it's still changed. Just stop messing with things.
I picked classic because I didn't want teh changes last time. WHy do I want them this time. I don't facebook or twitter so i'm not interested is that rubbish. And flashing stuff is just annoying.

Give me back my boring plain classic!!

i currently have mN open on both ipad & mac - on the ipad the drop down thing appears pretty randomly - I haven't worked out what makes it appear yet, it's not when I scroll down....

We've implemeneted a short-term fix for the slide-down bar, clicking close on it will now keep the bar hidden until your next session (i.e. next visit to Mumsnet, or when you re-open your browser). You may need to restart your browser for this to work.

Rusty, I'm on iPad too and have seen none of the new changes (except for the colour change) at all yet.

I am still on classic, don't want fangled new stuff, drop down thingies, flashing thingies or any other thingy.
(apologies for the word thingy, have a headache and have lost some words)

I don't fb, twitter etc and don't see why that should be linked to MN. I appreciate some people do fb and twitter, so give them the option to opt in on drop down linkies/tools/buttons/thingies.
But don't enforce them on everyone. Please.

Worked it out now - it appears when I scroll back up to the top of the page, but not every time and only for the blink of an eye, certainly not long enough to actually do anything with it - doesn't seem much pint to it really...

Definitely like the new colours, though.

I just closed it like you said, scrolled up the page and it reappeared. Not working for me

And it reappears when I scroll down too. And stays there, it does not flash up for a second but appears and stays. (outstays its welcome that's for sure!)

OK, just closed browser to see if fix worked.

2. The search box at the top of the page doesn't work. You put a search term in, click Search, and it takes you to... a search page.

God yeah, the rollovers are far too sensitive - I was just moving my cursor! not looking for something.

Hurrah! It seems to have worked for me at least...
Mind you, mine was never flashing - where was the flashing bit?

I hate that bar at the top- it's just inside my field of vision and is Pissing Me Off.

@BehindLockNumerNine: This was literally only just changed, so your browser may not have updated properly. Closing and re-opening it can sometimes help, otherwise you'll have to wait until your machine catches up I'm afraid.

Also, a small point of clarification: All the navigation links on the top (blue bar) can be clicked to reach their relevant pages, so clicking Talk will take you to the topics page, etc.. There's currently no pages for Bump to Teens or Life & Style, but there will be soon, promise.

Please disable it for Classic users. There is a reason we chose Classic!

if you close your browser now and then reopen, next time you close the drop down bar it will stay gone (did for me anyway!)

I think I could get used to it if it had stuff on it that I would actually use - like links to My Mumsnet & Customise. It also doesn't have the Mumsnet on YouTube link that the static bar has.

The slide-down bar won't work on iPad, this is by Apple's design, as having something "fixed" to the browser window doesn't make sense when you can pinch+zoom in/out.

The search box issue is something we're going to look into, in the mean time you can put your search terms in the Google Custom Search box on the page it takes you to. Apologies for the issues with this.
