Cup of tea anyone?

RebeccaMumsnet · 09/02/2011 11:21

Last week we offered you the Wine emoticon but after cries for further beverages in the form of a nice cuppa tea, we are putting it to the vote. Please note that although we are using the word 'tea' the emoticon can be used as any hot beverage of your choosing (attempt to fend off enraged coffee/ Horlicks/ hot chocolate or Bovril drinks).

Please vote here . Voting closes at midnight on 10 Feb

p.s. Here endeth the beverage emoticons

"We're not the Disney Delegation of the Minature Poodle Hug Club."

LOL

Eleison · 09/02/2011 19:55

Every time I am reading a book and come across a nuanced description of a facial expression, I want to suggest it as a new mn emoticon.

Last night's reading was something like: 'His face showed a mixture of kindness and amused malevolence that said "Your spire has no foundations and will collapse before it has finished."'

Can we have that one please?

LemonDifficult · 09/02/2011 19:58

Another vote here for the

Amused Malevolence Emoticon

(no glitter showers).

Eleison · 09/02/2011 20:00

We could have one 'amused malevolence with kindness' and one 'amused malevolence (no kindness)' (with or without the spire implications -- perhaps they could be customisable)

227 yes votes vs fortysomething no's
what a pushover Wine

CuppaTeaJanice · 09/02/2011 20:20

When I was at college we all drank our wine from mugs.

Does that confuse the issue?

UniS · 09/02/2011 20:41

another Yes

TheMonster · 09/02/2011 20:43

More emoticons are unnecessary. The biscuit was ok, after a certain thread meant that biscuits were a hot topic, but there it should have stopped.

LadyPumpington · 09/02/2011 21:09

253 - 51! Our job's done.

Jux · 09/02/2011 21:24

I want the opportunity to type [Your spire has no foundations and will collapse before it has finished] at someone.

MmeLindt · 09/02/2011 21:26

I vote YES to the [amused malevolent] emoticon.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 09/02/2011 21:26

I think we should have a 'wagging finger' emoticon. Only because it would be utterly hilarious to see the rage it would provoke.

Please? Honestly it winds people up even more than the Hmm

gwan.

Or [catsbum] as that is so Mumsnet.

Mind you if we are going down that route we will need a [fanjo]

LadyPumpington · 09/02/2011 21:26

Save it for the trolls jux

LadyPumpington · 09/02/2011 21:27

Hey I can do a fanjo emoti do you want to see?

slartybartfast · 09/02/2011 21:40

Why not? If there is a genuine need for my creativity then I shall be forthcoming. Shall I do it again?

thefirstMrsDeVere · 09/02/2011 22:00

Well Yeah obviously [rolls eyes] LadyP

SoupDragon · 09/02/2011 22:03

i am still sulking that my [humbug] emotion didn't show up alongside all the other festive ones.

LadyPumpington · 09/02/2011 22:04

Ah forget it my creative juices have gone you'll just have to wait for mn to do that emoticon.

Jux · 09/02/2011 22:06

SoupDragon, we need a [sulking] emoticon too. Then you can have [sulk][humbug]. Or [humbug][sulk] even. There's no end to the potential creativity here.

Jux · 09/02/2011 22:07

() would be a start LadyP

SoupDragon · 09/02/2011 22:09

I was going to suggest (!)

LadyPumpington · 09/02/2011 22:10

Shock have you been peeking at my emoticons jux?
