I went away for a while, was reading from page 25 to catch up and clicked on 'next page and pfft...all gone.

Why thank you

Northernlurker · 11/07/2010 22:02

Stayfrosty - yes the facebook/meet up stuff left a very nasty taste in the mouth. It was discouraging as well because i like to think I'm sharing webspace with reasonably bright women. Numpties who post their evil wind up plans on facebook and other threads on MNET aren't going to help me with my tricky personal dilemas are they?

williewalshsballs · 11/07/2010 22:02

Come on HQ, I ought to be getting to bed - early morning here. Please explain.

tethersend · 11/07/2010 22:02

SEVEN

oiteach · 11/07/2010 22:03

Were MNHQ referring to the FB bollocks and the op starting the thread as an obvious wind up though when they said it's "not what mumsnet is about"?

Because I could agree with that I think, in the sense that if op was on a deliberate wind up and posting personal remarks about other posters eleswhere then that's against the mumsnet rules of posting.

If it was deleted from a censorship we don't talk about this stuff point of view then I thoroughly disagree.

I come here because it isn't censored, agree with hobnobs that loads of stuff is left to stand that is far more offensive than that thread.
The argument is always that there is useful info there blah blah.
I don't see why that thread was any different.

ifancyashandy · 11/07/2010 22:03

There were two Ifancy's posting...apols for any confusion. Who'd have thought the world could cope with more than one of us?!

(secretly hopes Defluffy means me )

the whole fb rubbish is the very reason i'm fastidious about keeping mn and rl separate.

Fuck me, willie- we agree

Bring on the trumpets!

ninah · 11/07/2010 22:06

I think IFancyKevin was one of the Midnight Bitches

CatherineMumsnet · 11/07/2010 22:07

Hi all, sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, we did feel that the FB issue shouldn't be aired on the thread, which is why we said it's not what Mumsnet is about (sorry for not being clearer). FWIW we agree that the debate it was turning into was a good one, so please feel free to continue on with that discussion.

DeFluffy · 11/07/2010 22:07

ifancy - were you the sensible ifancy who was a lone opposing voice for a while? if so yes i meant you!

tethersend · 11/07/2010 22:08

Why not just delete those posts?

Why the entire thread?

ifancyashandy · 11/07/2010 22:09

And of course that was me Defluffy !

ninah · 11/07/2010 22:10

I meant that in a good way btw - I think the first to question stuff

williewalshsballs · 11/07/2010 22:10

tether I'm blowing my vuvuzela

Look, i wasn't able to put my point across very well on that thread because I didn't have the benefit of using my own life experience and background to illustrate why my views are whgat they are. I was going to do a reveal but thread was deleted and i've lost impetus

Northernlurker · 11/07/2010 22:11

Well now I'm properly outraged!

The op posted a deliberately inflammatory thread, denied the fact and then was well and truly embarassed when it was pointed out that her dubious motivation was all over a thread on Mnet and facebook. And yet it's the fact that posters pointed out that she was on the wind up that's the problem here?

tethersend · 11/07/2010 22:12

I think we all have TBH.

Shame.

ifancyashandy · 11/07/2010 22:13

Am giving up. A shame it's over but was a pleasure doing business with you ladies.

Until the next time....
