I went away for a while, was reading from page 25 to catch up and clicked on 'next page and pfft...all gone.

What did I miss?

I don't understand it either but have kept the posts on fb as they are shocking and they really aren't what MN is about.

MNHQ - could you reinstate the thread but delete the 5 posts referring to facebook please? otherwise all the earlier stuff will have to be typed again

Catherine, with all due respect, the fb thing was a tiny aspect of the debate and posts could easily have been deleted. You could have given a warning. And since when does mnhq sensor what goes on off board????

It was wrong to delete the thread. How many times has (mostly one poster) posted outrightly homophobic, racist, disablist things and nothing gets done about that?

Facebook is full of vendettas though- how can MNHQ ever hope to police that? In fact the addition of the FB button is positively encouraging posters to "take it outside", surely?

Am very disappointed in MN at moment, first the debacle of the Rarebird thread and now an op being caught out posting simply to inflame, and saying so on facebook and yet gets all the evidence removed? When it was actually an interesting and educational discussion.

Yes, I don't mean about MN particularly, though that must happen too, but facebook is the ultimate in passive aggression.

I can't see why it could't be reinstated, it should only be the case of pressing a button. Individual posts have been reinstated, one was the other night when someone at MNHQ got trigger happy and deleted one by accident

tethersend I was hugely tempted but as i said I know some of the posters although i don't know OP.have met her though once so is def real!I agree keep rl and mn seperate is a good idea.I have a couple of good friends from here that I see regularly but don't do FB with them and no longer go to meet ups.
