Has anyone bought Who gives a Crap toilet rolls?
I wondered if they are worth it.
The Facebook page has great reviews, Ocado quite the opposite!
Let me know your thoughts please :-)

WGAC are terrible! They’re long-lasting but so crumbly. I hate the name too. Naked Paper subscription is so much better.

I cannot imagine having an opinion on bog roll

Guessing you didn't have waxed single-ply loo roll (aka "hard toilet paper" or "tracing paper on a roll") at school. You'd have an opinion on that.

Shiny loo paper 'army personnel for the of' had 'government property' stamped on every sheet.

We had something similar at school. It was horrible, especially if you were menstruating.

Haven’t read whole thread so someone might’ve said this. But I randomly googled the geese proof paper/tracing paper loo roll the other day, as I remembered it from school and public toilets in the 90s. Turns out it was “medicated” toilet paper, the medication was actually a disinfectant. It was useless at absorbing anything but I guess at least the paper cuts on your bits wouldn’t get infected! But I doubt it was good for vulvas to be dabbing them with disinfectant

Edited

Trust me, it wasn't.

Couldn’t be bothered.

On the subject of loo roll.. Does anyone remember that horrible brown paper in sheets. It was like grease proof/ baking paper.
My Grampa had it, used to cut up your bum. Hated it.

Argh IZAL, My grandad always had it in the 70s when I was a kid. I think he had a lifetimes supply of it when his workplace closed down as he still had a supply when I had my own kids in the 90s. I always worried I’d just end up wiping poo halfway up my back or end up with a papercut on my arse 😆

Bungle1985 · 21/05/2026 06:55

The WGAC bamboo rolls are fantastic IMO. Deffo less dusty than others.

BUT….I have stopped the subscription as they are just too expensive for us. We were getting through 48 rolls in a short amount of time and it is expensive compared to Sainsbos own brand.
We are a family of 5 adults with 2 bathrooms.

It’s a shame as I really liked them.

I think some people on this thread have only tried the recycled ones which sound thin?? The bamboo are really good.

I think it was the law that in the 70's your Grandad had it in the outside loo.

silkencushion · 21/05/2026 07:06

I hated them- they were expensive, having to unwrap each toilet roll was a pain in the arse and caused more wastage and then there's the huge cardboard box they came in which is massive.

waste of money

ChocolateAddictAlways · 19/05/2026 22:43

I bought when they were on promotion. They were fine but just fine, nothing more. It bothers me that each roll in the box is individually wrapped in paper! Yes it can go in the recycling but recycling itself uses lots of energy so this feels a bit not eco/sustainable.

It’s so incredibly wasteful, dressed up as eco friendly. All Sainsbury’s toilet roll come wrapped in paper and that’s it. No need for the extra paper.

It's also made in China. Sainsburys is made here in the uk.

I did.
but that's not what they're suggesting buying

The point I was making is that we all have an opinion on loo roll, even if it is just "not IZAL, ever".

ChristmasBaby2026 · Yesterday 09:19

We didn’t find them useful at all. They are supposed to last 6 months and I think they lasted me and my husband 10 weeks. I don’t know if we just use a lot of toilet roll (we do both wfh a lot) but it made them not value for money at all! They do look pretty in your bathroom though.

We also tried bumboo and had the same experience.

Now we just bulk order regular loo roll from Amazon and keep it in the garage.

Nodirectionhome · Yesterday 09:20

WhitegreeNcandle · 19/05/2026 21:33

I’ve always Pooh pooed them and bought the Sainsbury’s linked above. But I got reeled in on social media and saw an ad where they blame the bathroom dust on cheap loo roll. Anyone know if this is true?!

I didn't believe this but it's true. My bathroom is so much nicer dust free. I am on my second box now and wouldn't go back. Mind you I live alone so don't go through so many loo rolls. A box lasts me 6 months.
ETA: also WGAC is far less susceptible to falling apart in use. Much stronger.

Hedjwitch · Yesterday 09:23

Tried it but ended up with bits stuck all over my nethers so stopped using it

selffellatingouroborosofhate · Yesterday 18:05

Thanks to this thread, I'm now contemplating Naked Paper as they don't bleach the paper and can also supply my kitchen paper and nose tissue requirements.

I’ve been using WGAC for years and I’m also considering a switch to Naked..
