Has anyone bought Who gives a Crap toilet rolls?
I wondered if they are worth it.
The Facebook page has great reviews, Ocado quite the opposite!
Let me know your thoughts please :-)

They’re fab.My family get a huge box, and it takes about six months to go through

Whaleandsnail6 · 20/05/2026 06:55

I went through a phase of buying it. I liked the individually wrapped designs on the rolls but can't say I found the actual toilet roll any better than what I buy with the weekly shopping and felt it more expensive

Shame as I wanted to find it value for money but I just didn't

Perfect28 · 20/05/2026 06:57

Yes we buy them and love them.

Flipflopsandsunhat · 20/05/2026 06:58

Their bamboo paper is really good, but I'm not buying loo roll that comes all the way from China, it's just not necessary.

I buy Nicky toilet roll. I find it so much thicker and better than the branded stuff like Andrex or Cushelle. It’s also loads cheaper and manufactured in the UK. I think they also do work with the Woodland Trust.

This! It's really great, 3ply & great value. I buy 24 at a time- lasts about 4-6 months here (4-5 of us). Lord knows how people get 48 to last many months!

Westfacing · 20/05/2026 07:06

For years I used Ocado's own brand paper but over time I noticed increasing 'shrinkflation' the rolls were getting looser so obviously they were reducing the amount of paper - one was so loose that the cardboard tube fell out.

Switched to Crap and very happy - expensive but longer lasting and better value overall IMO

TerfOnATrain · 20/05/2026 07:12

I bought them, to dress a bathroom for a house sale 😄, and was totally underwhelmed. The bathroom looked good, but the loo roll was no better than any other reasonable quality supermarket roll and less pleasant than a decent Andrex.

On the subject of loo roll.. Does anyone remember that horrible brown paper in sheets. It was like grease proof/ baking paper.
My Grampa had it, used to cut up your bum. Hated it.

Yes - we had that in our school toilets. Was particularly awful if you were on your period. I think that’s where all my issues around shitting have come from too - trained my body to never go at school because of that paper! Tried to never use the toilets at all in fact, so basically didn’t drink during the day. Took decades to get myself out of that habit and to the point where I will actually drink enough fluids in the day to not be constantly dehydrated.

I bet the bloody staff toilets didn’t have that paper though…

DiscoBeat · 20/05/2026 07:15

I buy Bumboo instead. They're better quality and prettier packaging

Strumpetpumpet · 20/05/2026 07:15

I have a subscription and we really like them - I buy the bamboo ones as they’re nice and soft

NooNakedJacuzziness · 20/05/2026 07:19

”Bathroom dust” in my experience is just the fluff from towels - it lessens the more the towels go through the washing machine funnily enough

Sadcafe · 20/05/2026 07:43

Haven’ t used it so can’t speak from experience, but it’s a toilet roll, apart from the really cheap ones, how much different can it be. As for Facebook reviews, I wouldn’t trust a review on that platform on anything

Passthecake30 · 20/05/2026 07:46

We used them during lockdown. The paper is quite thin and not very luxurious for those of us with piles and/or thrush. We’re now back to Charmin, which does give a lot of dust.

WhisperingAngelisnotbad · 20/05/2026 07:47

I prefer the loo paper made from recycled paper that comes from Waitrose. Decent quality and the rolls fir the holder in our bathroom.

Snackpocket · 20/05/2026 07:48

The individual wrapping seems so unnecessary and wasteful to me. I get Cheeky Panda bamboo loo roll on Amazon subscribe and save which just comes in a box.

Summersongroses · 20/05/2026 07:51

I have been using WGAC for a few years now. I think they are really good personally and soft. I have a dark floor in my bathroom and when I used the supermarket own loo roll there was always a lot of (paper) dust by the loo floor but I don’t have that with WGAC. The other nice boxed and wrapped loo paper is Bumboo. Nice patterns of paper wrapping! But I personally felt they didn’t last as long as a roll of WGAC though.

I don't know why people bother with these fancy toilet rolls when you can get these- made in the UK from recycled paper, wrapped in paper, available on the high street

Agree we’ve used this stuff for years

Grimsbygormbly · 20/05/2026 08:06

I use Tesco's luxury soft quilted, a friend gave me a roll of WGAC to try the other day and I was underwhelmed. It lasted half as long and was flimsy. She also gave me a kitchen roll, which doesn't absorb anything and falls to pieces before you can get it to the bin. I'm glad I could try before I forked out for a whole box. I find the Tesco roll better than Andrex too.

sallymonella · 20/05/2026 08:07

I've just started using it. I like it, it's better quality than Shades, which I was using before.

Can't comment on dust because I've never noticed any from toilet roll before.

BeardofHagrid · 20/05/2026 08:09

I just hate the name. I wouldn’t even consider it because of that 🤮

Is there a nonscented/ non lotion version though?

I dont wanted scented near my bits

Ultraalox · 20/05/2026 08:24

I do, they arrive, I don’t think about them, it’s one less thing on the mental load! The paper is pretty; the kids use it for crafts.

How is buying loo roll online any different to buying in a shop in terms of mental load?

Jedentag · 20/05/2026 08:12

Totally agree!

I just compared prices and it seems I'm paying double for the Cheeky Panda ones. I think I'll stop that subscription!
