Who gives a crap

Has anyone bought Who gives a Crap toilet rolls?
I wondered if they are worth it.
The Facebook page has great reviews, Ocado quite the opposite!
Let me know your thoughts please :-)

We've subscribed for over 3 years. I think the quality is brilliant. However you do need space to store them. We get 48 rolls every 6 months (just DH and I at home although we do have lots of visitors). I've never really seen them advertised so don't know what their claims are. But we are very happy with them.

TeenLifeMum · 19/05/2026 22:16

We tried them but got a voucher for bazoo and haven’t looked back. They subscription is easy to delay and it lasts longer than others so works out financially better.

I think I will try the Sainsbury's ones. Thanks for the link.

I'm shocked they used job applications for marketing.

Bathroom dust - that sounds crazy! I haven't heard that one before.

Yeah, I really wasn’t happy at the time. I was desperate for a job and it felt poorly judged. I also hadn’t given marketing company consent so that felt like a breach as well because it wasn’t how I expected them to use my data.

I grew up poor

I still buy asda smart price loo roll and I will never change 😫😫

Bikenutz · 19/05/2026 22:24

Why not try both - get the Sainsbury’s ones and then when they are running low, order some bog (ha) standard Who gives a crap.

At the end of the day it’s personal preference. I find the WGAC ones last the longest, but off the shelf loo rolls can be softer if someone in your house prefers that vibe.

Luckywithchildcare · 19/05/2026 22:25

Also, a different perspective and part of the reason I stopped using them is that my kids love to craft with the cardboard loo roll inner, but the inners are branded with who gives a c**p which felt inappropriate for kids. Or maybe I’m a prude.

BatFinkk · 19/05/2026 22:28

Bumboo all the way for me! Beautiful wrapping paper too. Yes I’m a sucker

AgentPidge · 19/05/2026 22:29

I like them. Started off with recycled and now get the bamboo ones, but both are good. They last for ages and ages. I get half a box now, so not too bad for storage. Otherwise they go in the garage! They're wrapped in cheerful colours and I like that bamboo is a grass, so no trees being cut down.

I have them and the inners are plain now.

Bamboo WGAC all the way. Last ages. Like the packaging, especially the ‘emergency rolls’ which at risk of sounding like an idiot we send to uni with our son. Always have a stock in the garage. Never need to think about getting them when shopping. Now also get tissues. You can delay the delivery if you don’t need more. I am a fan!

measuretwicecutonce · 19/05/2026 22:36

@Lunchtimehelp- Izal, awful stuff luckily no longer made!

WheretheFishesareFrightening · 19/05/2026 22:37

I’m pretty precious about loo roll and we only use who gives a crap now. I was one of the only people I knew not worrying about toilet roll in lockdown as I always have 30 odd rolls in the cupboard.

The qualities good and it lasts for ages (but I’ve not tested it’s actually longer than the Andrex we were buying before) and it’s no plastic waste.

Robertplantgoddess · 19/05/2026 22:41

It may not be important to you and I don't want to derail the thread but they are very pro - trans women are women. Its just toilet paper tbh with good advertising (used it a lot at holiday let).

ChocolateAddictAlways · 19/05/2026 22:43

I bought when they were on promotion. They were fine but just fine, nothing more. It bothers me that each roll in the box is individually wrapped in paper! Yes it can go in the recycling but recycling itself uses lots of energy so this feels a bit not eco/sustainable.

PuggyPuggyPuggy · 19/05/2026 22:46

I have often come across WGAC in holiday lets - a lot of people who live near the sea, or in rural areas with septic tanks are keen on it. Because it's so damn flimsy 😬 I don't like it at all.

I bought a box of 48 Bazoo rolls in January and it looks like it will last us into 2027 (2 people), so will be sticking with that!

On the subject of loo roll.. Does anyone remember that horrible brown paper in sheets. It was like grease proof/ baking paper.
My Grampa had it, used to cut up your bum. Hated it.

Yes it was called Izal I think and I guess was a step up from cut up pieces of newspaper back in the day. Was standard issue at my schools up to 1980.

I sent our son off to uni with the emergency WHAC rolls too 😂 .

However we have since changed to Bazoo (think I got a voucher) and prefer their packaging designs #superficial

Bamboo all the way. Didn't like the way WHAC paper rolled into little balls.

Yes! I remember Izal. We had it in the primary school toilets when I first started at school. I'm sure it was almost waterproof and totally rubbish at the job it was supposed to do! I don't remember it being brown though. Maybe we had the "posh" white version!

TakeMeToKernow · 19/05/2026 23:04

@Lunchtimehelp I got Purdy and Fig on an offer and actually do really like their glass bottles, but I’ll be refilling with any old anti-bac spray.

In my cleaning armoury I have:
• a random bottle filled with diluted dish soap
• a random bottle filled with diluted white vinegar
• the glass Purdy and Fig bottle, which I’ll use for anti-bac

ive found products beyond this just a bit gimmicky. I don’t mind giving in to things that smell nice every now and then :)

My grandpa had this too. They bought the soft rolls for when we visited.

My Nana used to come into the cubicles of public loos with us and “crumple” that brown stiff paper vigorously to soften it up for our bums ☺️

CDTC · 19/05/2026 23:07

We used to get 'who gives a crap' for the toilets at work, load of shite and would never buy it myself.

bathroom dust???
they really are scraping the barrel there
ite the very definition of virtue signalling
plenty of water/sanitation charities you can donate directly to if you are concerned about that

i don’t get the thing about bathroom dust either. Presumably people clean bathrooms to get rid of germs rather than dust and if dust is sitting there long enough to gather then the issue would be germs anyway? And surely dust comes from towels , clothes , skin 🤢.
it reminds me of the air freshener ads that show the smell emitting from the toilet in a big blue cloud contaminating the towels and everything else . Not something I’ve noticed either .

ooh no. - we had the opposite - blocked drains and a septic tank and plumber said do you use WGAC by any chance? - um, yup...apparently is notorious for clogging up the pipes. So I cancelled the order.
