Has anyone bought Who gives a Crap toilet rolls?
I wondered if they are worth it.
The Facebook page has great reviews, Ocado quite the opposite!
Let me know your thoughts please :-)

We’ve been WGAC for several years now - I really rate them - BUT only the bamboo not the recycled. Read the reviews when we first ordered that suggested this was the way to
go. But been very happy with the bamboo.

I like subscription options for this sort of thing - we also have SMOL dishwasher tabs / washing capsules.

Agree with this. We get the bamboo ones and a box of 48 lasts 3 of us plus random teenage visitors about 6 months

francy99 · 19/05/2026 23:20

I used to buy supermarket own brand toilet roll and the amount of dust that came off it was awful. I now buy Cushelle quilted and the difference is amazing, no more dust from toilet rolls

getupdostuffgotobed · 19/05/2026 23:26

There’s plenty on a roll. Strong enough so it’s unlikely your fingers will go through.

A big box - a disadvantage if space is short, an advantage if you don’t like buying in 1s, 2s, 4s, 6s, 9s etc.

Delphiniumandlupins · 19/05/2026 23:43

I love Who Gives A Crap toilet paper. Using the bamboo now. Only 2 of us in our household and not lots of visitors but we're both retired (so largely home every day) and I use it if I have a cold rather than going through lots of tissues. We don't finish a roll a week! Also, my friend with a septic tank uses it no problem. I use the wrapping paper for presents and crafting.

Thecomedyclub · 19/05/2026 23:44

I love Bumboo….

Doubletroubledoubled · 19/05/2026 23:52

I buy mine WGAC in packs of 6, 12 or 18 from the supermarket where they are often on offer. I justify the additional cost on the basis that they donate some of their profit to Water Aid, and the extra soft version with the black and white patterned wrappers go with our bathroom decor.
I occasionally buy the special editions if I see them and have even been known to remove the wrappers carefully if I like them, give them a quick once over with the iron and use them to wrap small presents. At Christmas the little ones had great fun with the wrapped rolls because they could be piled up and turned around to make a whole variety of differently dressed clowns.

JustSawJohnny · 20/05/2026 00:02

Nice outer wrapping.

That's the only positive.

KeeleyJ · 20/05/2026 00:06

My DS bought from them, its pretty rough compared to usual supermarket brands.

Look at all the comments underneath their FB posts (and probablyon here by now) - far too many "best bog roll ever" to be true. Pretty obvious most of their reviews are bots and people supplied with freebies.

(Similar to Bird Blend tea and bum Whype gel stuff - basically too good to be true.)

BeaTwix · 20/05/2026 00:13

Bamboo. 48 rolls last my household of one plus fairly frequent guests & 2WFH days/week about a year.

JustAnotherWhinger · 20/05/2026 00:15

We tried them, but they lasted nowhere near as long as Costco’s own brand ones so we went back to theirs.

DD1 prefers WGAC so stores them here. She likes them despite the fact they don’t last as long as Costco, but she lives alone. We’re a house of 7, with DD3’s nurses in every day, the 3 elder kids visiting and wider family & friends here very regularly.

BringBackCatsEyes · 20/05/2026 00:16

I gave up with WGAC after too many times losing so much paper trying to unpick the glue to unravel it. And the unnecessary wrapping.
I get Cheeky panda bamboo now 🐼

steff13 · 20/05/2026 01:07

Porterpoets · 19/05/2026 21:31

100% worth it. We won’t go back now, but do make sure you have the space to store them. The box is large!

And it says "Who Gives a Crap" on the side, who when it gets delivered to your front porch while you're at work, all your neighbors can read it when they drive by.

WaryHiker · 20/05/2026 01:31

I've been using them for years. The quality is perfectly good and the convenience of having them delivered every couple of months is great. Their kitchen roll is good too.

The best thing about them was that if you were a subscriber before lockdown, they continued to deliver to their customers, which meant we were able to make sure elderly people in our street didn't run out of toilet paper while the shelves were empty or they weren't able to get out to a supermarket.

Kinfluencer · 20/05/2026 03:02

I use it at,a relatives house
Completely average cheap quality , zero idea whar all the fuss is about
Some people are easily taken in
I bulk buy Cushelle when its on offer , lovely soft and thick.
Never run out and its half the price.

nevernotmaybe · 20/05/2026 03:08

We get Amazon 24 pack for about £6. It is cheap, and soft enough for us but nowhere near the softest I have ever used.

But it seems to be the best value for the price, even if individually each roll doesn't last as long as some.

unkownone · 20/05/2026 03:17

We get it delivered but get bamboo. I was against it at first, but our work places expanded there just ended up more people so going through it faster. I get 2 boxes and split them across offices and our home. I get the paper towel too. Now i love i'm not always running to the shops to stock up home and work. One less thing to think about.

Damaticcus · 20/05/2026 04:05

They used to be so worth it.
Low price, good value.
Now price is up and quality dropped.
We stopped our subscription a while back when it went to shit, excuse the pun.

Treetreetreetree · 20/05/2026 04:09

I think it’s great. But I can’t say I give toilet roll the level of thought some people clearly do.

echt · 20/05/2026 04:35

It's the miles from China does it for me. I buy toilet roll made in Australia.

paintedpanda · 20/05/2026 05:34

I buy Nicky toilet roll. I find it so much thicker and better than the branded stuff like Andrex or Cushelle. It’s also loads cheaper and manufactured in the UK. I think they also do work with the Woodland Trust.

Lazingsundayafternoon · 20/05/2026 05:48

CaffeinatedMum · 19/05/2026 22:14

We use it, can’t comment on quality really, it does the job though. Weirdly our downstairs loo used to get blocked fairly regularly and hasn’t at all since we started using it… could be a coincidence. Anyway we just like it because of the convenience of having such a big delivery and then not having to worry about it. We bulk buy quite a bit to reduce then the weekly shop so I guess it just firsts our way of shopping.

I agree. I’ve been using them for ages . I like the convenience of never running out. The quality is okay, nothing special, but I’ve been happy with it. Also our toilet has stopped blocking as much too.

I don't know why people bother with these fancy toilet rolls when you can get these- made in the UK from recycled paper, wrapped in paper, available on the high street

The reviews are awful

Hippee · 20/05/2026 06:15

Lunchtimehelp · 19/05/2026 22:12

On the subject of loo roll.. Does anyone remember that horrible brown paper in sheets. It was like grease proof/ baking paper.
My Grampa had it, used to cut up your bum. Hated it.

Poor man's tracing paper. We had it at primary school in the seventies. I used to take sheets home because we could never afford tracing paper.

Newstartplease24 · 20/05/2026 06:20

I sometimes get suckered into bulk eco buying but I hate the branding. I just dont like the phrase and I don’t want it in my head.

Blundl · 20/05/2026 06:21

We buy Andrex 24 or 48 packs from Amazon when they go on offer.
