Has anyone bought Who gives a Crap toilet rolls?
I wondered if they are worth it.
The Facebook page has great reviews, Ocado quite the opposite!
Let me know your thoughts please :-)

ooh no. - we had the opposite - blocked drains and a septic tank and plumber said do you use WGAC by any chance? - um, yup...apparently is notorious for clogging up the pipes. So I cancelled the order.

Well, I don't know what to think now 🤔 maybe they have changed the... I don't know, structure, or thickness, or something?

How is buying loo roll online any different to buying in a shop in terms of mental load?

Just what I said, it just arrives, I don’t have to think about - nothing crazy 😅

Ahhhh - so it’s a subscription! Sorry, I neglected to explain that. So it’s on a repeat order every 8 weeks or something

I get a delivery about twice a year.

I don't know why people bother with these fancy toilet rolls when you can get these- made in the UK from recycled paper, wrapped in paper, available on the high street

I use these I picked them up on the off chance they were decent and they are really good ! Good price and decent toilet roll !!!

Pinklightning · 20/05/2026 09:28

Awful. I tried them after recommendations on here. Asda quilted is far better.

Justbecauseyoucandoesntmeanyoushould · 20/05/2026 09:33

Yes, and I find it worthwhile. Good quality and one roll of Who Gives lasts as long as three of my previous branded loo roll.

I’ve always Pooh pooed them and bought the Sainsbury’s linked above. But I got reeled in on social media and saw an ad where they blame the bathroom dust on cheap loo roll. Anyone know if this is true?!

Andrex is one of the worst culprits for bathroom dust.

billycat321 · 20/05/2026 09:44

Shiny loo paper 'army personnel for the of' had 'government property' stamped on every sheet.

ButlinsReward · 20/05/2026 09:52

We get naked paper. I prefer it because it doesn't have the stupid name so I can buy it without teaching my five year olds what crap means, and the concept of giving a crap.

I've just had a look to see if I can find a discount code to tempt people away from the sweary paper 😂

Here's a link for five pounds off rc-refer.com/laura-yq075t

Portugal1987 · 20/05/2026 09:53

I ordered a box with a huge first-time customer discount and have to admit they last ages with two adults. I've bought the box almost 4 months ago and only halfway done

canyouseemyhousefromhere · 20/05/2026 10:10

iv been using their bamboo loo rolls for about 18 months. We really like them, they seem stronger and there is less dust created (maybe it’s the bamboo version only).
Find the subscription easy to modify if we’re running low/overstocked. Biggest problem is storage of the big box.

BestZebbie · 20/05/2026 10:28

We had a box - the loo roll was perfectly fine, if a bit overpriced - we didn't re-order because we were in the thick of the junk modelling years and we couldn't ever take any of our loo roll middles out in public as they all have the word "crap" printed on them repeatedly....

stargirl27 · 20/05/2026 11:08

i like cheeky panda more than WGAC!

CoCoJones26 · 20/05/2026 11:29

Didn't like it, paper was very thin and created " dust" so we're back ti the sainsburys one mentioned earlier in this thread...

ImFineItsAllFine · 20/05/2026 11:29

MIL gave us a load of WGAC loo rolls as they had too many from their subscription (I don't think she knows how to change it).

I liked the idea of the plastic-free packaging but the loo roll itself was not great - flimsy and, ahem, scratchier than our normal Asda stuff so I won't be switching.

Girlwithabook · 20/05/2026 11:32

We buy and are happy with them. 3-ply, tough yet soft enough, don’t block the loo, last well.

Alongside being 100% recycled the company donates 50% of profits.

Reevester · 20/05/2026 11:48

I’ve been buying for 2 years. Really like them and aesthetically and practically works very well in our open storage. Buy every 3 months. Not as soft as Andrex.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 20/05/2026 11:50

So each roll is individually wrapped and it comes from China?

I can't get my head round needing a loo roll to look attractive. I just use lidl basic double rolls. Feels soft enough to me and having a bit of a convoluted sewage system makes me reluctant to use the cushioned/weirdly treated (coconut oil anyone?) ones.

On the subject of loo roll.. Does anyone remember that horrible brown paper in sheets. It was like grease proof/ baking paper.
My Grampa had it, used to cut up your bum. Hated it.

Yes! I remember when I was still young enough for Mum to accompany me into a public toilet, she used to sort of scrunch it and rub it between her hands to soften it up and make it less water-resistant before launching her attack on my nether regions!

DressOrSkirt · 20/05/2026 12:23

I've used them for years and am very happy. I use the bamboo ones though not the recycled ones. I have a skin condition and it has completely cleared up down there since I switched to bamboo. Price wise they are on par with other bamboo toilet rolls, plus the convenience of delivery (I have a schedule directly with them) and the money they give to help the less fortunate seals the deal for me.

Partly.

I bought some bargain rolls last time and I have to use about 4 sheets to one of the stuff I normally buy. Talk about false economy,

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 20/05/2026 12:33

No one liked them in our household, teen DD renamed them ‘who sells this crap’.

Haven’t read whole thread so someone might’ve said this. But I randomly googled the geese proof paper/tracing paper loo roll the other day, as I remembered it from school and public toilets in the 90s. Turns out it was “medicated” toilet paper, the medication was actually a disinfectant. It was useless at absorbing anything but I guess at least the paper cuts on your bits wouldn’t get infected! But I doubt it was good for vulvas to be dabbing them with disinfectant

autumn1610 · 20/05/2026 13:07

Absolutely hate them. For the price I just think the quality is poor
