Would it be considered Sad if I purchased one of those old woman shopping trolleys?

In Barcelona you see young people wheeling their little oldwoman shopping trolley things around all over the place, but would I get funny looks if I bought one to use here?

It would be so handy for shopping at the market

is your trolley full of graffiti paint?

marthamoo · 23/10/2004 07:15

Wow, sm, sorry mw (when did that happen?) - I have never seen anyone carry off a granny trolley with such style, such panache, such raw sex appeal. I'm gonna get me one of those

Davros · 23/10/2004 08:52

You need to be confident to get the hang of using one, do you push it in front, drag it behind, what do you do at curbs etc It a bit like a man with a beard (or an old lady with a shopping trolley) deciding whether to sleep with it over or under the bed clothes!

lou33 · 23/10/2004 11:34

snort @ you three!

treacletart · 23/10/2004 13:15

Here you go girls trendy shopping trolleys!

marthamoo · 23/10/2004 14:52

Serious trolley question coming up! In the supermarket, what do you do with it? I mean, you can buy lots so you need a trolley rather than a handbasket so what do you do with your trolley? Do you put it in the supermarket trolley or drag it behind and try and push the supermarket trolley one handed?

See this is the problem I have with my buggy - can't leave it anywhere and can't manage a trolley as well so I have to have a handbasket and fill the pushchair hood up with precariously balanced items as well.

I am seriously considering a granny truck when I no longer have a buggy to load up with shopping. Funny thing is Mum suggested one years ago when we didn't have a car and I seem to remember my response included the words "dead" "seen" "with" and "wouldn't" . But now I am older and wiser I'm starting to see the appeal!

Thing is, people don't bat an eyelid in London - I'm not sure Macc is ready for moo with a trolley!

Aha moo! I can answer that question as mw had exactly the same problem yesterday, and actually called me to tell me about it!

She hooked it onto the hook under the trolley handle, after seeing an old lady doing the same
