Does a larger penis make a difference?

My partner is average size (about 5 inches), I can only orgasm if we have sex in certain positions, on my back and legs up near my shoulders, or where he can penetrate me more deeply, accompanied by clitoral play.
I suppose it would be interesting if I was a bit fuller, whether it would make a difference to my orgasm. I’ve never had sex with a well-endowed man, does it make a difference to those who have?

My partner is just over 9" and it works fine for me, definitely largest I've experienced. He's not arrogant about it, just states that's he's been blessed (sometimes) 🤣 I was curious and asked him to measure it as I like my statistics, he said no initially but then later on whipped a ruler out and shared the result. We had some giggles over it. Most important is the giving and receiving between two people and what they do with it, I've had partners who were 6" fully erect and have had amazing sex.

@howdydo22 …6 inches is still a very decent size and above average….is more troubling if they are very small, to them as well as us ladies

Made me think that there must be a lot of measuring tapes in the bedroom or not!

Bionicman · 09/01/2025 17:36

I used to be a shade below 8.5' and often sex was uncomfortable for both . Since my ED and implant, I'm now a solid 6' and I honestly couldn't care less and i don't think any of the woman I've been with since have cared either.

Mine is 8" but after trying everything I've never been able to give my wife an orgasm through PIV alone, so in that sense I doubt it has made a difference, if anything she is uncomfortable in certain positions. I've got no doubts she would take an inch off and put it on the girth if these things were optional!

Does anyone know what the average girth is, average length is supposedly about 5.5 inch, but I imagine a good girth makes up for the average size, perhaps the ladies would know

Yes very much so.

According to CalcSD, for Western Average length is around 5.8 inches, and girth around 4.8 inches.

The question “Does Size Matter?” shows up many times. Size is not correctly viewed, in general. A study found that the majority of men believed that the average erect penis length is more than 6 inches. This indicates that there is a general misconception about penis size. In an article in BJU International,

"Am I normal? A systematic review and construction of nomograms for flaccid and erect penis length and circumference in up to 15,521 men: Nomograms for flaccid/erect penis length and circumference"

it was concluded that the average erect penis length is 5.17 inches. One interesting video on YouTube from pelvic floor therapist Michelle Kenway discusses information that she gathered. She discusses an article that Bruce M. King did in 2021, which is cited and referenced in the video. Michelle’s survey indicated overwhelmingly, for women, that size does not matter. The themes that came through in her survey included that what matters is technique, honesty, and passion. The 3 key take home messages from the video were (1) Most men estimate size incorrectly, (2) Size does NOT matter for most women, and (3) Other things matter for more women and large size can be painful. Also, with respect to the woman, penis length and girth (in circumference or diameter) can affect her. Length is connected to the length of the vagina that the penis is going into. The vagina can range in length from 2.7 to 5.8 inches in length. The cervix, which is at the end of the vagina, can be hit by a penis that is above average in length; and this can cause pain during penetration sex and even bruising of the cervix. Therefore, the vagina length factor is another reason why a penis length above average can actually cause problems. The other size factor is the girth of the penis, which is usually measured in circumference. A study found that the girth can range from about 3.4 to 5.7 inches with an average of 4.59 inches. This corresponds to about 1.1 to 1.8 inches in diameter, with an average of 1.46 inches. Since the vagina opening can vary from 0.94 to 2.56 inches in diameter, a penis girth above average can matter very much for women with smaller vagina openings.

Guy here. women respond to different stimuli and men do too. Size alone won’t satisfy if he doesn’t know what to do with it and just hammers away. A woman has unique points that stimulate from G spot, to A spot and cervix. Some women hate cervix touch others adore it, so horses for courses. Generally more girth is better but again not a hard and fast rule

This seems a very sensible and informed answer. I know nothing of other women - a guy best to judge here! Really. I thought all women were the same until a while back, so I really am no judge

I quite like a smaller one. I can suck the life out of it, deep throat and all and the owner loves it I feel this then translates into a decent fuck for me. I currently have a H with a fucking massive one. He can find the energy to touch the bottom of a pint glass for the slags in the pub but it goes limp very quickly and he won't lick me out 🤷‍♀️

I love giving and taking oral, and wouldn't be wasting my time in the pub if I were him.
Daft lad

Men cannot help what they have but they can influence how she receives it. All women are different too with different likes and needs. In my experience girth always trumps length and that fullness is the sweet spot. However as readers have commented it’s about the wizard, some ladies insist on all of it, a good man, sensitive to his ladies reactions will feel how deep is pleasurable and adjust. Remember the g spot is only 2-3 inches inside so salami not required. In terms of wrecking a man’s mental health by saying he’s not adequate that’s not on but he should be told if required what it takes (foreplay) to unlock you and make you relaxed….bringing her to orgasm first without cock makes for far better time for both in the long run. Yea I’m a man and blessed with girth but still look to satisfy a lady several times pre swordsmanship. I’m also not a fan of women not speaking up when they are being hammered away at….it just prolongs that patriarchal head space with him thinking he’s decent in bed, not satisfying and moving on to the next to have a poor experience with. Women can be teachers too and make expectations clear. If a decent man he will listen and learn and may in time rock your world. Don’t further the patriarchy by biting your tongue and letting him think he’s a star if he’s really not

HampshireSue · 01/09/2025 15:59

My previous partner was quite girthy which was always very uncomfortable for me to take, and oral gave me jaw ache. Current partner is lacking in girth but super long which suits me much better. He likes lots of oral which I love to give so both very happy!

SportGirl · 02/09/2025 13:25

Small penis disappointed me, although I am into women now so I guess it is irrelevant

JohnBoltonFamilyMan · 06/09/2025 22:01

This is an interesting post for me as guy. Being 5’6” in height I always assumed I would be less than average. I am 6.5 inches and decent girth, it was only partners saying nice cock and talking openly with female friends, partners and reading up, I realised I wasn’t “short”. It did make me put more effort in, but once I realised I was fine with what I was given, it did make sex much better. This is a big hang up for men and the fear that we don’t measure up to previous partners. Having said that I would still love to an extra inch or so!

JohnBoltonFamilyMan · 06/09/2025 22:03

Strange he won’t lick you out I love doing that

JohnBoltonFamilyMan · 06/09/2025 22:47

Wow this thread has been amazing for me. Yes some woman prefer bigger guys and that’s important for them, there’s no point being in a long term relationship with someone who doesn’t deliver for you. As I said in a previous post, when I was younger I had hang ups about being 6.5 with a decent girth. I also put lots of effort in oral prior to penetration, fingers, oral. But it would appear that I would fine for most women, just not some. I’ll happily take that :)
