For those in long term relationships with small children...
How often do you actually have sex?!

Out of interest to all those frisky lucky buggers out there- who initiates all this shagging?!

I am 39 pregnant with my 1st baby ( due August) and me and dh are having sex about 2-3 times a week I can't get enough. It's a mix sometimes I initiate it sometimes DH.

rusky both of us! We have pretty even matched drives. Mine is actually slightly higher.

Once per twice a month here. Dd2 is 6. We're both busy all the time, so sex is not a high priority.

Not that people on this thread are not truthful. But they might not be a true representation of what happens around you in average.
I think it's normal to have less sex when you are tired, have a small child etc
It's also normal for things to settle down again

We don't live together, but on average twice a week. Sometimes we don't do it for a week, sometimes two or three times in one night. Averages about twice a week though.

DS is 6 and DD is 4, on average 4 times a week

Maybe this is WHY people are changing their sheets daily.

Not often here - about once every couple of months - as meds have killed my libido.

If we lived together, I think we would be 4-5 times a week or more. We have a lot of sex, we are very touchy feely people and sex is important to both of us. We've been together 3 years and between us have a 13, 10 and 8 year old.

Sex every day? Christ on a bike. My OH and I used to have sex 5 or 6 times a week when I was in my late 20s. But I'm 34 now, have a 1 yr old and 22 weeks pregnant. Last time I was pregnant I wanted more sex despite morning sickness lasting 33 weeks. This time around I don't want sex as much. It varies, but probably 1 or 2 times per week. Poor, poor OH. My weight gain over the last few years has definitely not helped. I was a 10 when we met, and I'm a 14 now (when I'm not pregnant) and it has made me a lot less keen to whip my clothes off.

I don't know how people get in the right mood every single day. Or is it more like a habit when it's that often?

Ruskyrobins24 He initiates it sex is a big part of a relationship, if there's no sex I believe that's how cheating starts, if he is not getting it at home he will probably look elsewhere.

Blimey, I'm feeling tired just reading about so much sex!

Dc3 is 9mo and we've DTD twice since he was born. We didn't at all when I was pregnant, I had placenta previa, and conceived 1st time so didn't have Months of trying for a baby.....we never really got it back after dc2 was born. Its made even more difficult because dc1 is a preteen and we don't have a lot of privacy, eg go to bed not long after she does and just are too conscious that she will hear. I'd like more, I'm pretty sure dh would too, but with a 12 year old, a four year old and a 9mo old it just doesn't happen. We have a great relationship, we will 'survive the drought' but it still makes me very sad sometimes.

How do I get in the mood so often? It's not habit I'm attracted to DH and when his in the home gym working out my God his the hottest thing I've seen and it sort of goes from there or watching a film at night just kissing turns in to more.

Yeah it's definitely not habit. If I had it my way we would shag from sunrise to sunset but things like work and eating get in the way...

Once a day sounds really controlled a day unsexy. Like it's just part of a routine rather than being in the mood.
I'd say about one or two times a month.

Omg I feel awful now!!! Probably like once a month max. I'm 26 he's 29, married 4 years, DS is 1.

To be fair I did have to use vaginal dilators after birth as DH couldn't physically fit inside so that's probably something to do with it. Think a big spell without it led to my libido plummeting - more you get more you want. Think I'm going to make sure we do it all the time to shake things up a bit.

Just asked my 4 close friends all with children.
Friend 1 - once a week
Friend 2 - once or twice a month
Friend 3 - sometimes a few times a week sometimes 0 for a fortnight.
Friend 4 - once a week

Once or twice a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. We had sex 5 times yesterday, stayed in bed most of the day (convinced dp took a sneaky Viagra). Haven't done that for years.

Children are grown up now. 4-5 a week

2 or 3 times a week here. Early 30s. Id like more as when we do i love it but going back on the pill has killed my urge and grief has taken a massive toll plus a clingy puppy, argh as if i jus admitted that

When we were first together it was every day. Id love to get back to that.
