For those in long term relationships with small children...
How often do you actually have sex?!

About once or twice a month.

I feel quite sad actually because dh would happily be every day but I'm only ever really horny around ovulation.

Why embarrassed?

Last time was months ago thankfully. Like honey it was a dreaded chore.

Do you mind me asking why it was a chore?

I think the last time we had sex was in April.

Being on the mini pill has completely killed my sex drive but my periods are unbearable if I come off it. I feel sorry for Dh tbh.

I will even it up by saying months twice a month maybe.we have two non sleeping children so DH has no chance of getting more than that just now. I'd rather sleep. We have been together for 10+ years and are 30+ if that makes any difference.

When my husband is home we have sex most nights, probably works about six nights a week. That said he's in the military so I do have to go months without it. And we have had six children so I guess we must be quite good at it!

Not as often as we would like. i feel guilty about it because I do enjoy it when we do, and it's been a bit of a bone of contention at times but I'm just so so tired, and medication for my MH problems has kind of squashed my libido :(

Was a lot less than that for a few years, was a bit of a bone [arf] of contention but for the last year or so DH seems to have got his get up and go again and is friskier than ever at the ripe old age of 48 (I'm 29). Would be a lot more if we weren't knackered.

We have a 2 yeae old who is an early riser plus both wokring full time were knackered so probably about once a month at mo. Whenever we do have sex we both say we need to make more effort as both enjoy it but then same old routine. Both used to love morning sex but no chance with ds waking us up at 6am. Hoping it gets better as he gets older tbh

I'm nearly 35 weeks pregnant and it's still every few days. Even after we had ds last year our sex life didn't really slow down, it's just sometimes only a quick session instead of an all night one.
Me & DH have alway been very sexual people and my DH is incredibly hot can't keep my hands off.

I wish we had sex once a day! I am lucky to get once a week. DH has always had a lower sex drive than me. I love him like mad and he is wonderful, but it is the one thing I find really difficult about our relationship.

On the other hand when we do have sex he makes me orgasm like nobody else. It is blooming amazing.

I listened to a podcast some time ago that was talking about some studies that had shown that satisfaction with a relationship increased with the amount of sex you have up to once a week. Having it more than once a week has no measurable impact on satisfaction (obviously this is over a large number of people so clearly it will be different for individuals, just not in general). Does any of that make sense. I am rubbish at explaining stuff like this.

Oh my god!! So much sex being had!! I'm 24, DH is 29, we manage 1 or 2 times a month. We have a 15mo and I'm newly pregnant so we've not for a couple of months with me being so tired and ill.

Both early twenties with 2 year old DD and it varies. Sometimes up to 4x a day, but usually once a day or every other day if I've been working that night. We've never gone longer than a week without.

Jeepers me too, my sec drive is way higher than DHs but at least when he does want it it's great!

When they were title we were lucky if we managed once a week.

Secondary and junior school age now and its about 4-5 times a week, which we're both happy with.

I honestly am amazed...I started this thread in the hope it would make me feel better that we never have sex since pregnancy and children...but now I feel worse!!
