Hello everyone, here is a shiny new thread ready for DC’s results day tomorrow and a much needed hand hold for us nervous parents. 🥴🤪

Tomorrow is the culmination of an incredibly turbulent 2 year journey that our young people have had to navigate. Fraught with ups and downs. They have done us all proud!!

Here is a link to the previous thread: www.mumsnet.com/talk/secondary/4566030-current-year-11-2-more-weeks-of-exams?page=37&reply=119483572

Can I join? I did start a thread in chat about this but was pointed this way. Dreading tomorrow

WhereTFisit · 24/08/2022 19:55

I'm really worried about DS's results.
He's not academic at all but does very well in computing. He wants to do that at college.
The last few months I've realised he is probably on the spectrum and dyslexic, I think. I don't know how he got through his whole school years without it being picked up :( I feel really shite
I just really hope he gets enough to do computing at college

IThinkIMadeItWorse · 24/08/2022 19:57

Hi waves

Can't believe it is actually tomorrow! I was feeling a bit stressed earlier but then a friend I hadn't seen for ages popped round for a couple of hours which provided a very welcome distraction. We have another friend coming over a bit later as well!

Prob won't find out until mid morning as school is open 10-12 to collect results but DS is not sure about going right at the start as he thinks there may be a queue!

Fingers crossed for everybody. Remember this is just a step on the journey and there is always an alternative route if things don't go as well as hoped. I think they have all done well just to survive the last couple of years!

Justwingingit2005 · 24/08/2022 20:00

My son is due his results tomorrow. Hes been quiet all week and hardly eaten today. He was going with his mates but has asked me to go with him. I'm more nervous for his than my own many years ago!

Purple24 · 24/08/2022 20:04

Coming over from the old thread....

13 hours to go!!

zighead · 24/08/2022 20:06

Thanks for the new thread @Rollergirl11

DS seems fine and I'm okay too. Fingers crossed for a good nights sleep. Planning on taking DS to school for 8.45 as there is bound to be a queue for results at 9am. Not sure whether I'll wait in car or just drive home and let him ring me as he is going straight out with friends.

Good luck to all our DC for tomorrow.

ToTryToDelight · 24/08/2022 20:11

I’m taking DS tomorrow. I’m hoping I won’t be told to wait in the car! If I see other parents accompanying their DC, then so will I!

Silkierabbit · 24/08/2022 20:23

Thanks Rollergirl for new thread.

Womblesaremyfavouritefood · 24/08/2022 20:23

How do you access them online?

Naem · 24/08/2022 20:26

Thanks @Rollergirl11 new thread much appreciated.

ShanghaiDiva · 24/08/2022 20:26

she can collect results from school from 9 am tomorrow.
good luck everyone!

How do you access them online?

Not @Mumski45 but at DDs school all the DC have all been given special logins to access the school system called bromcom. We set up her password etc on Sunday. When we logged in, there was a space for Exam Results that was blank, and that is where they will appear tomorrow morning. The system is apparently blocked today (as they are busily loading up the results) and the block will be removed 8am tomorrow. My DS has the same system (he did some GCSEs in 2018 and most of them in 2019), only with him the lifted the block at 6am. Clearly they have decided, post pandemic, that they can't be bothered/don't want to do it that early. The school is otherwise closed - if you want advise from the exams officer or the head of sixth form, you can phone and zoom appointments are available. No possibility of going in.

Mumski45 · 24/08/2022 20:34

The school has an online system called iSams portal which is used to record all timetables rewards exam entries and results. We have been told they will be on there at 8am. DS has a pupil login and I have a parent login. I'm assuming they will only be on the pupil one initially.

Our school is releasing them on Go for schools at 9am.. I’ve had to promise not to look while ds is in their collecting his results. He’s going in with his friends.. parents have to wait in the carpark 😬

wineandsunshine · 24/08/2022 20:39

I am going in with my DS at 10am (as long as he wakes up!).

I am praying he's passed English as he found the exam SO difficult. He then has to pop into college in the afternoon and enrol....!

legosunqueen · 24/08/2022 20:41

Thanks @Rollergirl11for the thread...will surely fill up quickly tomorrow!

MumofSpud · 24/08/2022 20:45

Feel sick / sleepless nights / nightmares
DD meanwhile is too busy packing for Reading Festival, oh and she's at a party tonight
So at 09:00 when THE email arrives I will be lifting her tired, hungover finger up to the laptop screen so I can log onConfused
I remember these threads over the years with mums waiting for their DC to wake up!!!!
Good Luck everybody

Moosey1969 · 24/08/2022 20:50

Good luck everyone. DH said tonight I've done well not to have had a meltdown yet (there's still time)! Not sure if that's a compliment or insult 😂
DS worked today, football practice tonight, then getting ready for Reading tomorrow. I'm glad he's ok at least. Results from 8am but still waiting for him to deign to tell us what time we are going; he needs to rendezvous with friends. 🙄
Not long now and there's always another way if this one doesn't go quite to plan...

Kendodd · 24/08/2022 20:55

Can I join!
I have to admit neither me nor my child are the least bit worried, what will be, will be.

SherwoodForest · 24/08/2022 20:56

I'm also waiting for results tomorrow. I posted elsewhere but no response. Does anyone know what to do if you have accepted provisional offers from three sixth forms? We won't know until after results which one DD is likely to be accepted at. When do we tell the others she is not accepting?

NameInUseAlreadyAgain · 24/08/2022 20:57

Hi all. Not long now. 12 hours and 3 minutes for us !

Notaclu · 24/08/2022 20:59

Restless DD this eve - about to start watching some random series to distract :)
