Hello everyone, here is a shiny new thread ready for DC’s results day tomorrow and a much needed hand hold for us nervous parents. 🥴🤪

Tomorrow is the culmination of an incredibly turbulent 2 year journey that our young people have had to navigate. Fraught with ups and downs. They have done us all proud!!

Here is a link to the previous thread: www.mumsnet.com/talk/secondary/4566030-current-year-11-2-more-weeks-of-exams?page=37&reply=119483572

Eeek! DS seems calm this evening but he has sounded worried a couple of times over the past few days.
I was a teacher for years and have attended lots of results days but tomorrow is my first one as mum.
Good luck everyone 😊

Purple24 · 24/08/2022 23:25

Hope you all manage to get some sleep.... will check in first thing tomorrow! Good luck to all!

Iknownothing · 24/08/2022 23:32

Joining the thread as I’m the one awake worrying- everyone else is fast asleep.
DD is not a natural exam taker and she has worked so hard - just praying she gets what she wants as she has her heart set on a particular A level and she needs at least two 7s in maths and/or sciences to do it.

MrsAvocet · 25/08/2022 00:55

I'm still awake and feeling some slightly homicidal thoughts regarding DH who declared that what's done is done and staying awake won't achieve anything and is now pushing up Zs with no difficulty. He is right of course, but knowing it doesn't make it any easier for me to sleep! I think it's going to be a long night.

Still awake too - DD has been at a partyConfused (I went to collect and fell asleep whilst waiting)

MaryJoLisa · 25/08/2022 01:09

I've just come to bed, leaving DD watching TV downstairs. We haven't mentioned exams, results or anything related all evening, but she's thrown up about 4 times, her IBS is awful and she's come out in blotches. I am just 🤞 for a pass in maths, she's terrified of having to face it again for a resit. Lockdowns were not kind to her and I'm incredibly proud she got through it all, but I really hope she gets what she wants and it wasn't all in vain. Hope your DC all get what they want too!

Kaftankween · 25/08/2022 03:01

I’m in the USA on holiday 10pm here. Results at 3 am. We’re all still up

3am here in the UK and I am still up I can hear DD snoring Confused

MrsAvocet · 25/08/2022 03:22

I'm still awake...
DH is snoring but I have just heard DS get up and go to the loo so presumably he isn't getting much sleep either.
I need to get up in 4 hours so really need to sleep but can't switch my brain off!

Ihavethisthingwithcolour · 25/08/2022 04:20

A fitful night of sleep so far and now completely awake.

lightening outside on the south coast - good or bad omen?!

Ds hoping for nothing lower than a 7 in all subjects… I hope he’s not disappointed. I hope I don’t show disappointment if he doesn’t get his high predictions.

MyOtherProfile · 25/08/2022 05:02

Another one not sleeping. DS was awake earlier but seems to be asleep now. 4 hours to go...

writingsonthewall · 25/08/2022 05:26

Woke at 4.40am after a nightmare about dds results. I dreamt she got all 3s, except a 4 in maths and an inexplicable 'C' (old school) in one of the Englishs.

Now I can't sleep and I'm worried

MumofSpud · 25/08/2022 05:28

My calming ocean sounds is pissing me off now!

At least she passed Maths and English Grin

NancyJoan · 25/08/2022 06:09

Morning! More sleep than I thought I’d get, now I need a cup of tea and to get my brain in gear for the day.

Boxshibe · 25/08/2022 06:11

I'm up now was awake most of the night. Dd is ofcourse not awake. Worryingly she's expecting an 8 in English. But as long as she gets 4s ill be happy. I'm expecting a 1 or u in RE though

UnicornPug · 25/08/2022 06:11

I’m up. Think I saw every hour on the clock! I just want my dd to get what she wants. That’s the only way she won’t be Disappointed. 4 hours to go here.

QueenMabby · 25/08/2022 06:29

Morning all. Unmumsnetty hugs to those who had rough nights. I think I slept ok from about 11 until about 5.45 - been awake since then.

Good luck to everyone this morning. Not long now.

LouisCatorze · 25/08/2022 06:29

Heavy rain here this morning. Sympathetic background? Really hope not.

Good luck everyone. And very much thinking of the young man whose MN mum died just a couple of months ago (during the exams).

Mumski45 · 25/08/2022 06:43

I'm up after a difficult night of light sleep and dreams. Only an hour and 1/4 to go now.

YodaBabe · 25/08/2022 06:54

We're abroad and I'm WIDE awake trying desperately to be still and quiet so I don't wake DD up!

God the nerves are killing me 😬

Womblesaremyfavouritefood · 25/08/2022 06:54

Morning all. Was watching a Carry On film at 3am. Heard DC up A LOT in the night. Have been told to knock on their door at 8.45 for a 9am email. Good luck everyone, you've all given a huge amount of support through this really tough year.

Akite · 25/08/2022 06:59

Ha I dreamt she got six 9s and a 2 last night 🤨
She announced last night she wasn't going to go and get her results slip and she might open the email in the afternoon. Hoping curiosity gets the better of her!
good luck everyone 🍀

Norma27 · 25/08/2022 07:02

Good luck everyone. Will be driving my daughter in to school at 9am then hopefully having a nice day out. She had a tough time at the end as her Nan was put on end of life care just before they started and then passed away just after she finished. She was always so proud of her and we are devastated she won’t see the results. Good Luck

TheOnlyMrsW · 25/08/2022 07:03

Up here, thanks @Rollergirl11 for the thread 😊. DD at her dad's last night - they're going through a tough patch at the moment and she messaged to say she wished she was here with us......... we're supposed to be going into school for 9.30 but suspect it might be earlier, available online after 10am if not.
