Hello everyone, here is a shiny new thread ready for DC’s results day tomorrow and a much needed hand hold for us nervous parents. 🥴🤪

Tomorrow is the culmination of an incredibly turbulent 2 year journey that our young people have had to navigate. Fraught with ups and downs. They have done us all proud!!

Morning. I've not posed for a while but have been following the summer adventures.
I'm up and logged onto work computer to try and take my mind off it all. Results day is being eclipsed by my fear DS has been wooed by a local college and he's going to make a big mistake in choice of college. So stressful. Good luck everyone.

Moosey1969 · 25/08/2022 07:05

That made me chuckle

Notaclu · 25/08/2022 07:06

And we are up ready to go after a late night watching box sets - we are tired (dog included); I hope everyone gets what they need to do what they want to do next x

Moosey1969 · 25/08/2022 07:08

Just woke up. Meltdown finally last night about Reading tents but of course the underlying stress has finally surfaced. Quick cuppa and we're off to face the music.
Good luck everyone 🤞

Woke at 4.40am after a nightmare about dds results. I dreamt she got all 3s, except a 4 in maths and an inexplicable 'C' (old school) in one of the Englishs.

Now I can't sleep and I'm worried

Ah my dream (when I awoke at 3.30am) was that DS primary school teacher gave him his results and he got 3 in maths and English and a 9 in chemistry! ….. what a stupid dream …. I’m thankful for the 9 because that’s how I know it’s not a premonition ha ha b .

hagelslaagfiend · 25/08/2022 07:12

Morning all! I spent the night dreaming of the lockdowns. All the kids who sat at kitchen tables trying to work. No emails or online results here as far as I know. DD will be at school by 9:30.

LouisCatorze · 25/08/2022 07:13

@Moosey1969 I empathise. DD got steadily more unreasonable as the evening went on. Goodness knows what she'll be like this morning. No sign of life from her yet this morning.

hagelslaagfiend · 25/08/2022 07:13

Oh and last night we watched the Derry girls GCSE results episode! We decided against breaking into school to get them early Grin

Workyticket · 25/08/2022 07:24

E&M grade boundaries for Pearsons

135 for a grade 4 maths which is low but the grade 5 boundary is very high on Foundation

Morning everyone and good luck to all.

I slept very fitfully last night, kept awake by the rain and worrying. I dreamt that DD got the results that she wanted but she then lost them down at Reading and she had to call school for them to give them to her again. Except when they did the results had all changed and were far lower. I think that is nerves around both DD’s results and going to Reading merged and manifested in to one big anxiety dream! 🤪

I’m envious of everyone that finds out at 8am. We have to wait till 10am.

DD is also taking her mind off it tonight packing for Reading. I’ve been instructed to wake her at 9am tomorrow and we will be at school for 10am to collect her results. She wants as little time to think about it as possible.

Tell her to bring festival wellies as it’s chucking it down. Hope she has good results and fun.

Workinghardeveryday · 25/08/2022 07:34

Morning all.

I slept rubbish too, dreamt next door took all my washing off the line and threw it in the drain and hung all of hers up, dp woke me up as I was shouting ‘bitch’ in my sleep 😂.

10 for us too. I have butterflies!

CornishGem1975 · 25/08/2022 07:36

Thanks for the new thread @Rollergirl11

The day is finally here. I'm a mixture of nerves and an excitement. Not actually with DD today as she's at her dads but I've messaged her to tell her that I'm already proud of how she's worked and whatever the outcome I'll still be proud and if it doesn't go her way, don't panic, there's always another path.

She's going in at 8.30 so not too long to wait!

CornishGem1975 · 25/08/2022 07:40

And a heads up - if anyone is waiting for a BTEC result from Pearson, don't be surprised if it's not there. A week later some Year 13s haven't got their results and they're expecting about 3% of Year 11s will be missing too.

HappyBinosaur · 25/08/2022 07:41

We are leaving in a minute to get to his school for 8. I feel so nervous!!

That happened in 2020 too when my older son collected his GCSEs as he had done one BTEC.
How hard can it be to ensure all the results are ready?!
Good luck everyone

zighead · 25/08/2022 07:43

Morning all. I slept dreadfully too and I heard DS at 1am and then at 6, so guessing he didn’t sleep too well either.
Fingers crossed for us all

ToTryToDelight · 25/08/2022 07:44

Off to collect….🤞🏻

Akite · 25/08/2022 07:44

Well we supposedly can find out at 8, but no movement here at all so I suspect it will be much much later! My nerves are shredded. DH is oblivious.

MirandaWest · 25/08/2022 07:47

We’ll be off in a few minutes.

I went for a run a little while ago which nicely took my mind off things!

Iknownothing · 25/08/2022 07:47

Arghh we can pick up between 11 and 12.30pm . Very envious of those who will know at 8am

God this! My dd is going to Leeds and the anxiety around waiting for results, enrolling at a new college and going to the Leeds Festival is through the roof!

FAQs · 25/08/2022 07:50

Good luck to your children, still lots waiting for their A level or board results I really hope they have got it right with the GCSEs!

MrsScrubbingbrush · 25/08/2022 07:50

DD1 can collect her results from 8am but has decided to set her alarm form that time and go in later 😡

DD2 can pick hers up from 9.30.

It's pouring down with rain here (just one day after the hosepipe ban started 🙄) so not sure if their plans to walk/bus to school have changed.

Good luck to everyone!

Purple24 · 25/08/2022 07:50

Good morning, restless night here too. 1 hour to go for us!
