AuntP ShockGrin Yes at least it wasn't in the middle of the night!

Auntpetunia2015 · 17/09/2017 18:55

Oh yeah. Apparently it's no big deal ..and they've all now gone to the BBQ !

I'm back from drop off, it all went very smoothly considering there were 3000 students and their possessions all cramming into a very small area at roughly the same time. DS finally bought his freshers' ticket when he got there because he wasn't organised enough to buy it online before sales closed (hence several strops before he went).

I was fine, held it together when he gave me a big hug and we drove off. I was still fine when I came home but I was just about to go to bed and then I caught sight of the rainbow he drew me to cheer me up when he was 5 and I'd had a very late miscarriage. Oh dear, tears have been shed...

Aah, ono, it will be like that for a little while. Flowers

Back here after dropping ds. Think I'm ok at the moment. He's been sorting his room and chilling with housemates. Quite nice and quiet at drop off. Ds room bit bigger than we thought and has a view of a tree rather than of the car park. Which is a result, I think! Think he's faffing about Internet access etc. Smile

Wow, setting off tomorrow! DD is still busy packing so am glad we're not planning an early start and have booked two nights stay either side of move in day (Friday) so all we have to do tomorrow is get there. Then staying another night before heading home after breakfast on Saturday.
When I went to Uni I only had a few bags and boxes from what I remember. I do remember my Mum giving me a box of red pans and my friend across the road gave/sold me a few slightly random course books as she was doing the same subject but a year or two ahead. It all seems so very organised these days, and possibly has all got a bit out of hand, stuff wise. I hope it will all fit in the car anyway!

Hope it goes well today Juggling.

Horsemad · 21/09/2017 07:06

Good Luck Juggling Smile

JugglingFromHereToThere · 21/09/2017 11:45

Thank you both, last bit of packing this morning is taking longer than I was expecting, but DD just said "I'm getting there" and estimated length of journey is slightly less than I feared (but will add on a couple of hours for stops or unintended detours) so some good news ☺

bigTillyMint · 21/09/2017 12:55

Hope all goes well Juggling.

tobee · 21/09/2017 14:26

Good luck Juggling!

So are we starting a "they've gone" thread or has it already happened?

Btw really annoyed as I forgot to book DS in for dental checkup before he left! I'm a crap mother. Sad
