We seem to have reached the limit on the other one!

Last exam! Finally! It's been a marathon. Physics for us. Driving ds1 in soon. Hoping to get a photo of last day in school uniform.

MorvahRising · 23/06/2014 08:00

Good luck to yours too MissScatterbrain

I think they're all so exhausted by now it's a huge effort to summon up the energy! I just hope Physics is OK as DS wants to do either this or Computer Sciences at university. Less bothered about Statistics to be honest!

Shit, I completely forgot to get a last day in uniform picture! That would have been because of the tears and the last minute prom-evening-bag-buying-trip. Oh well!

Hope all those having their last exam today have a good one :)

Anyone carrying on past today?

MissScatterbrain · 23/06/2014 09:00

Thanks Morvah.

Was planning to take picture but DC was far too grumpy and miserable so decided not to push it.

bruffin · 23/06/2014 09:01

You really wouldnt want to see dd in uniform by her last day. She was a real ragamuffin. She had a perfectly neat jumper that had been hardly used, but insisted on wearing a jumper that had the cuff dangling off.

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 23/06/2014 09:08

Good luck to those with Dc still with exams.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 23/06/2014 09:40

I didn't get a last day in uniform photo either, DD wouldn't let me!
I have told her I am really proud of her lots and lots, and that she is a beautiful person on the outside and on the inside. She had a big weekend camping away from home and managed some tricky situations very well. In some ways this was a bigger deal than her GCSEs.

MorvahRising · 23/06/2014 10:06

YeGods that's fantastic - isn't she doing amazingly!

I did get a photo, although in the first one I took he sneezed violently and I have a very funny one of him half bent over with his hair flying up so he looks a bit like a cockerel.

Done!!!!!!! DS says Physics went really, really well so we are hoping it can drag up his Chemistry mark to an A overall. Frankly, I don't care right now. He has really studied hard so whatever he ends up with will be the best he could have done. He's on his way home, having lunch, then off to do some filming with his friends and play in a football league this evening. I won't know what to do when I don't have to nag about revision any more!

dottygamekeeper · 23/06/2014 13:25

All done here too - but DD said she wasn't always certain exactly how to interpret the questions, so am not sure how it went.

We can now all breathe a huge sigh of relief and forget about exams until the dreaded dates in August.

HSMMaCM · 23/06/2014 13:38

DD has statistics this afternoon. Hopefully stress levels will reduce after this.

marymoocow · 23/06/2014 14:51

DS out at a theme park with his gf today. Back to school Wednesday to Friday for 6th form induction. He went to buy his office-wear yesterday. Came home saying he didn't feel old enough to wear it. Must admit he did look very grown up Smile . Lets hope the results allow him to wear itGrin .

MissScatterbrain · 23/06/2014 16:19

Hooray!! Its all over for us here. DC said both exams were fine which is a relief as not much revision was done at the weekend and the Student Room is full of people saying how horrible physics was.

DC will be going out soon to party at a friend's so no celebratory glass of wine for me as I will be on taxi duty...

MorvahRising · 23/06/2014 16:34

Hooray from us too! Can believe it's all over! DS said physics was OK and statistics was easy!

We're taking him out for a meal tonight to celebrate THE END.

Can I say thank you to all of you lovely lot for the communal handholding and general support? It's been great to have a thread like this to commiserate and congratulate. Well done to all the DCs for coping so amazingly and hopefully see you all back here in August . . . . .

At last it's all over. DS1 found Physics hard today, but who cares. We'll find out in August. Managed to get a photo of last school uniform. I'll try to attach it.

Year 11 GCSE thread continued!
EllenJanesthickerknickers · 23/06/2014 16:43

That worked! As you can see, slightly reluctant. Grin I just asked him if he was was revising. He looked automatically guilty, then 'unamused!'

See you all back here in August and commiserations for any not yet finished.

SupportManager · 23/06/2014 18:20

Well done everyone - Isn't it over for everyone now?
OP and all posters: Thanks
This thread has helped me enormously, I don't have many friends with teenagers and it's made me feel less alone going through this marathon of exams.
Exhale, Wine and see you in August Smile !

Unexpected · 23/06/2014 19:30

Yay! Roll on August. MorvahRising we are depending on you to start up around 20th August Grin

AtiaoftheJulii · 23/06/2014 19:36

Woohoo! Everyone's finished! It has been great always having somewhere to let off a bit of steam :) Enjoy the summer, see you for the results :)

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 23/06/2014 19:46

Hold on!
sunshinecity's DC has GCSE RE on Thursday!

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 23/06/2014 19:51

MorvahRising thank you for starting/continuing the thread (and was it Atia who started the first one?) Many thanks to all participating, it has helped me stay in the realm of normality/sanity sometimes, and keep my powder dry regarding small matters like being able to see a bedroom floor! Grin You are/we are a lovely lot, and hope we can continue to support one another.

eatyourveg · 23/06/2014 20:03

Exams finished over for a week ago for ds but last uniform day here is not until July 3rd when they all go back for speech day. I'd get killed if I attempted a photo and have relied on spying on his friends fb pages to get a glimpse of any photos from the end of term.

Hope all the dc's results are as they hope - tbh I know ds worked his socks off so whatever happens I know it was his best, be it an A*, C or a U

MadameDefarge · 23/06/2014 20:54

Random lurker here. DS did stats today, year 9 (not even 14 till thursday!) and reckons he got 45 marks out of a possible 100.

Any idea what that means gradewise?

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 23/06/2014 21:02

Which examining board is it, MadameDefarge?

MadameDefarge · 23/06/2014 21:04

eek! dunno. I have completely ignored the whole thing as I don't really approve of sitting them so early. hang on.

Right he thinks it was Edxcel?

Exam was this afternoon.
