We seem to have reached the limit on the other one!

Leavers' Day and Prom for us today - with a physics crammer for Monday in between!

You would think DS would be glad to have a day off stressing about exams, but no . . . . he is stressing about whether he looks cool enough in his dinner jacket, whether he will be confident enough to ask anyone to dance, whether anyone will want to be in a photo with him, whether he'll have to eat broccoli, and probably even whether his left ear will drop off . . . . . . . if there was a World Cup for finding un-necessary things to stress about, he'd be a shoe-in!

Further maths today and then RE next Thursday!

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 20/06/2014 10:53

Next Thursday!!! - poor you Sunshine.

DS1 has his last exam (Further Maths) today. Last morning bacon and egg sandwich.

He comes home at lunchtime and will no doubt head straight for his laptop and games!

MrsMaturin · 20/06/2014 11:27

Dd is finished! But says Further Maths was 'awful'. Hey ho Hmm

dottygamekeeper · 20/06/2014 14:31

Another report that Further Maths was awful here - and DD had felt that the paper earlier in the week went so well...

Oh well, just Physics left now, on Monday.

TalkinPeace · 20/06/2014 15:01

FINISHED : DD thought the further maths was OK - but that is how her brain works ...

MrsMaturin · 20/06/2014 16:27

dotty my dd felt the same about the first paper. She is now talking about doing A-level though so who knows......

LIZS · 20/06/2014 19:33

Just sent a reluctant ds off to the Prom!

eatyourveg · 20/06/2014 19:39

At least he's gone LIZS which is more than ds did - not his scene at all. He's looking forward to an all night party at one of his friends tomorrow though - not a teacher in sight! Hmm

LIZS · 20/06/2014 20:12

Was as much as we could do to get him to shower and change! Noise and music not his thing. Don't think this is school supervised as at a venue but no alcohol. There is a follow-on party planned at someone's house (hope the parents know) but he definitely isn't going there !

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 20/06/2014 20:41

DS1 said AQA further maths was really good, but that his friends had very mixed views. Just one more to go. Oh, thank God.

If we are back in August for a reunion thread, it'll be hard mixing the celebrations with the commiserations.

MorvahRising · 20/06/2014 21:19

DS is also at the prom. When it actually came down to it he was fine and I have to admit I felt quite emotional seeing him looking very handsome in his black tie.

He was invited to an after prom party but after lengthy discussions we rather put him off he decided not to go. He's not really a party animal and still has two exams on Monday.

After hearing the above I am not looking forward to DS doing further maths at college!

DS wasn't too happy with Further Maths either. It is one of his A levels too.

Off to Prom tonight with GF, her Mum came round to take them and we managed to get some photos.

Staff there, alcohol free.

Good luck to those of you with Dcs with exams next week.

hellskitty · 21/06/2014 19:27

My Ds thought the AQA Further maths paper on Friday was time pressured and he didn't finish missing out 4 marks out of 120.

Phaedra11 · 22/06/2014 05:57

Hellskitty, missing 4 marks out of 120 puts him in line for the A star distinction, so nothing to worry about there.

I'm very much hoping the grade boundaries for AQA Further Maths remain as low as they have been, as DS found the second paper "challenging". It's not an A level option though, and it was his last exam, so he's now put it behind him and moved on to wondering what to wear to his Sixth Form College Induction. He seem more concerned about this than what to wear to the prom.

MorvahRising · 22/06/2014 09:48

The final day of revision and I'm trying to persuade DS to do another past statistics paper. The poor lad is utterly exammed out. I can't wait for tomorrow evening when we'll finally be finished!

Morvah - had to wake DC a few mins ago. Last day of revision Smile

hellsbells99 · 22/06/2014 10:59

Exams all finished here so encouraging DD to make the most of her 2.5 months off. So far she has been out socialising a lot - Picnic, bike rides, shopping, cinema etc. We have just done 2 days of university open days so she can think about what she wants to do and what she needs to do to achieve this. She has an interview next week for some voluntary week and still has the couple of sessions of tutoring she is doing (so earning a bit of money).
I would recommend doing some open days whilst they are off. I have another DC who has just taken AS exams and she has gone straight on to A2 work so it is still very full-on whilst trying to do uni visits.
Good luck for those with exams left.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 22/06/2014 11:59

So looking forward to DS1's last day of school uniform tomorrow. I might see if he'll let me take a photo. (No chance, probably Wink )

DD has Statistics tomorrow the that is it. Just asked her if she thought it might be a good idea to do some last minute revision which was met with a 'no'. Apparently its a foundation paper and she is pretty confident on all the stuff that will probably come up. Tbh I'm quite happy to cut her a little slack now as GCSEs have seemed relentless - far worse than I remember them being anyway!

After that she's hopefully got herself a part time checkout job to earn a bit throught the summer. Prom is a week in Wednesday - we've got the frock and shoes but thought I'd treat her to a girly shop day in our nearest city the day before to get the last few hair bits and pieces.

MorvahRising · 23/06/2014 06:27

The final day is here at last! Physics in the morning and then statistics in the afternoon, so a pretty tough day to finish on. Then we're going out for a meal to celebrate this evening.

Good luck to everyone today - there are still a few of us left!

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 23/06/2014 07:00

Yes, good luck to all those DCs still going! And Flowers to the parents!

MissScatterbrain · 23/06/2014 07:19

Good luck to Master Morvah - DC grumpy this morning which means stress due to lack of revision and a late night Hmm

Eastpoint · 23/06/2014 07:29

I've been stalking this thread and am joining today, dd1's last exam is this morning. Whole year does triple science so they are having a year meeting before they come home & then go to a party tonight.
