We seem to have reached the limit on the other one!

It's the Final Countdown ....!!!! Might go out this evening to celebrate.

Yesterday ds went in to hand back books and pick up summer holiday work in preparation for next year - it never ends.

Marni23 · 18/06/2014 09:08

Last day here too (Latin). We're definitely going out to celebrate tonight; it's been such a long few weeks and feel we should mark it in some way. No holiday work here apart from a (pretty extensive!) reading list in preparation for next year. DD looking forward to it.

Good luck to your DS in the Latin paper today LIZS

Unexpected · 18/06/2014 09:41

Getting increasingly jealous of everyone who is finished/finishing! We still have Chem tomorrow and Physics Monday. The end feels like it will never come. Then it's prom on Thurs, 2 weeks of work experience and Grade 7 drums on the Sunday. And already we have had the letter about Bridge tests for A level choices and summer work to be completed! DH wondered if these poor kids ever get a break?

LIZS · 18/06/2014 18:11

thanks Marni . It was "fine" although 8 marker not as straightforward as expected , whatever that means Confused Hope your dd 's went ok.

He's now vegging out , off to meet friends tomorrow, D of E next week ... , a well deserved rest. I need Wine ! Got to do it all over again in 3 years' time with dd and the next 2 for AS/A2

Leeds2 · 18/06/2014 18:24

DD doesn't have any holiday work or reading to do.

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 18/06/2014 19:24

All the best for you DC Expected for tomorrow and Monday.
Prom is this week for us.

ISingSoprano · 18/06/2014 19:25

No holiday work here either - our local sixth form college does give out pre-course work but only at enrolment at the end of August. Dd said last night that she is longing to read a book for pleasure so dh has gone out and bought her some on her wish list today.

Marni23 · 18/06/2014 21:09

LIZS DD really liked the paper although consensus on TSR is that it was tricky and a lot of her friends weren't happy with the 8- and 10-markers.

Anyway, all over now and I too am on the Wine.

SlightlyNerdyPianist · 18/06/2014 22:21

That's the last past paper done. Phew! Good luck to all who stil have a few left :)

Leeds2 · 18/06/2014 22:50

That is lovely, |Sing.

Unexpected · 18/06/2014 22:52

For the first time, DS is panicking about Chemistry tomorrow. He says there is just sooooo much of it. I am being supportive while what I really want to do is scream "well maybe you should have got up earlier and not gone to the gym today!" I think he is just very tired and fed up of the seemingly endless slog since 8 May and the first Drama exam. Roll on Monday!

MorvahRising · 19/06/2014 07:24

Unexpected we've got chemistry today too. I agree that by this stage it's all getting a bit much. DS has Leavers' Day and prom tomorrow but then still has to revise over the weekend for the last two exams on Monday!

Hope your DS has calmed down a bit this morning. I find that if DS is panicking a bit the day before he's usually better on the actual day.

Unexpected & Morvah - good luck to your DC for today's chemistry. My DC found revising for it hard going - not helped by the warm humid weather.

AtiaoftheJulii · 19/06/2014 09:08

Last one today, thank goodness. Afternoon one so dd2 is having a lie in. And then Prom tonight :)

She had RS yesterday, which is compulsory at her school, so most of the year in and it was most people's last exam - only the triple science lot having Physics today. So it was hard seeing so many people around her so happy afterwards!

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 19/06/2014 14:25

DS1 had a lie in too Atia before heading in for Physics.

It was Leavers Day yesterday for DS, so well over half the year could celebrate properly, just the triple science crew back in today and Further Maths tomorrow.

Sixth form starts on the 30th June for 2 days and I believe work will be handed out for the summer.

AtiaoftheJulii · 19/06/2014 14:38

Well, Physics should be over now - she was rather tearful earlier with nerves. Think that was probably her worst paper of the lot, so a tough one to finish on.

Hope your ds found it ok Raspberry and that the FM goes well :) And poor young Unexpected, having it drag out until Monday!

MorvahRising · 19/06/2014 14:55

Just had a text from DS about OCR chemistry. OK, but a bit of guesswork, and he was really cheesed off as he got a calculation wrong on something that he's done loads of revision on. I think the poor tired brain is feeling the strain now.

Oh well, another one down, just the last to on Monday to go! There won't be many of us left on the thread by then!

YeGodsAndLittleFishes · 19/06/2014 15:15

Ah, makes sure he timetables in more rest for As/ A levels and finals, I suppose. .. Although I doubt that they will ever have to work over such a long stretch of time again. A levels will go by too quickly for them all after this!

MissScatterbrain · 19/06/2014 15:33

Chemistry (edexcel) was ok - lots of tricky calculations though.

Physics and Stats on Monday to revise for and then it will be all over Grin

Unexpected · 19/06/2014 15:59

Am at work but from the sound of things Edexcel Chemistry did not go well. Ds saying he found it very difficult although most of his friends thought it was ok. Oh well! Have had to try and cheer him up and get him focused on revising for Monday's Physics! Wonder I can get Ds 2 to choose his subjects in a few years time on the basis of finishing in a shorter time? This has been tortuous!

MissScatterbrain · 19/06/2014 16:59

Unexpected, DC said it was a hard paper but that is to be expected with a C3. Judging from the comments on TSR, I don't think many found it easy at all.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 19/06/2014 17:34

Hooray, it's all over! Was ok, physics, so never to be looked at again ever.
She is off at a barbecue not a book burning session, with lots of kett and crisps and two bottles of hooch for her and bestie. She is wild my girl!
I think a gin may be in order for mummy.
Hope everyone gets what they need in august.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 19/06/2014 18:58

DS1 found OCR chemistry difficult today. His hardest exam so far. I think he's lost the will to live to revise by now. Further maths tomorrow and, finally, physics on Monday. It's been a long slog, this last 3 weeks...

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 19/06/2014 20:15

I got another OK regarding the Physics.

One more to go.

We will have to have a 'reunion' thread in August to share results,

KittiesInsane · 19/06/2014 21:02

Physics and Stats here too, MissScatterbrain! Meanwhile, by way of light relief, littlest DD is urgently trying to learn her lines for a show this weekend, and DS is apparently (silently?) practising an audition song for 6th form.
