We seem to have reached the limit on the other one!

OCR Gateway Chemistry was Ok, apparently, as was the AQA further Maths.

Oh well, that's half of the week's exams done already. Two more here, Physics and Further Maths.

sunshinecity17 · 16/06/2014 18:40

AQA further maths very nice. One more FM paper this week and then RE on the 24th and then finally finally finished.Hoorah!!

Best1sWest · 16/06/2014 20:16

WJEC maths paper 2 tomorrow. Just about to do some last minute revision with him. He's been at the doctors for more painkillers for his back today and to the Osteopath for acupuncture this afternoon so I hope he'll be feeling a bit better tomorrow.

TalkinPeace · 16/06/2014 20:19

Further Maths this morning : no real comment.
Last one is on Friday : it will be my baby girl's last ever day in school uniform.
SCARY

chart53 · 16/06/2014 22:47

Finally done today...what a marathon Good luck to all still with Exams to do and here is hoping that someone somewhere looks again at the relentless testing of YP.

Molio · 16/06/2014 23:12

A couple of maths left to go, but nothing to do for either, apparently. I don't get why the process has to be so drawn out, to get the things over with and stop kids going off the boil. They don't need five weeks, so why not do it in at least a maximum of four, including half term?

Molio · 16/06/2014 23:14

Muddled up post, not sure what happened. They don't need so much time is what I meant, so why draw it out?

MrsMaturin · 16/06/2014 23:53

dd seemed happy with Further Maths too. Only one to go!

Phaedra11 · 17/06/2014 07:03

DS happy with Further Maths too. Well, happy in a "could complete just over half the questions" way, he's not planning on studying Maths in the future and not after that Double A Star Distinction A^ (with a hat)!

Yegods, I hope everything's okay. You mentioned other stresses coming into play, in a previous post.

TalkinPeace · 17/06/2014 08:48

Molio
If you look at the Exam board timetables, there are three exams EVERY DAY right through the exam season : but not many kids take Further Maths and Childcare for example.

MorvahRising · 17/06/2014 09:08

Day off here today. DS is fretting about Statistics next Monday. It's only the top maths group that does it and they whizz through the syllabus in a very short time. He feels a bit underprepared, but on the other hand, when I suggested doing a past paper this morning, did he feel that was a good idea? No, because if he makes a lot of errors 'it would dent his confidence . . . . '

Interesting logic there . . . . Confused

Really proud of DS yesterday. Sat in his room for most of the day, had to convince him to stop what he was doing to get some lunch. Hardly any drink breaks, or wandering around. He was so focused.
Shame his exams are over........the power of computer gamesHmm Grin .

Good luck to anyone who still has exams left, it really is a long slog.

MissScatterbrain · 17/06/2014 10:03

Morvah, my DC is doing stats on Monday as well and school is putting on a revision session as they also whizzed through this subject several months ago.

DC isn't too bothered as feels its more important to focus on C3 and P3...

SlightlyNerdyPianist · 17/06/2014 12:15

Penultimate exam over, one left (maths apps 2, sodding WJEC)
The end is in sight. YES!

sausagedog12 · 17/06/2014 13:18

My DS school did Edexcel level 3 algebra/statistics paper instead of further maths. Hence they have now finished and have started taster sessions for sixth form which I thought was quite a good idea.

TalkinPeace · 17/06/2014 13:49

sausage
Hampshire schools do not have 6th form .... but the college taster days are looming

pigsinmud · 17/06/2014 14:06

All done! Ds1 had last AQA maths paper this morning. It was the statistics one which he loves. He said it went really well - first time he has said that about any of his exams!

I haven't seen him as he went straight to the park with some friends, but he texted to say he's feeling happy. At least he finished on a good one. I think most have finished at his school - only Latin & Polish left.

Good luck to those still going.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 17/06/2014 17:59

One more to go! The dreaded physics. (She is actually ok at it, but is convinced she isn't. But no matter as she isn't doing any science at a level)
Good luck everyone!

ISingSoprano · 17/06/2014 19:13

The end of the tunnel is nigh! One more to go here - OCR gateway physics on Thursday (afternoon, it would be wouldn't it!). Ds is back from university so we are planning a meal out on Thursday evening to celebrate. We can finally start thinking about having some fun - ds and dd both have trips to opposite ends of the globe this summer, lucky things!

Meet back here for results.....??!

eatyourveg · 17/06/2014 19:15

MorvahRising I understand your ds's logic. I found testing ds on the morning of his exams awkward in case he got tons wrong and lost any confidence.

Day 2 of ds being at home and he's bored already - he has applied for a couple of summer jobs in Boots and Smiths but being only 15 still, they probably even look at the application. Going to get him a 3 month gym membership tomorrow to fill his time - its going to be a long wait until August.

eatyourveg · 17/06/2014 19:16

won't look

Best1sWest · 17/06/2014 19:47

All done here.

Best1sWest · 17/06/2014 19:51

DS is looking for a job too. Leavers assembly next week and Prom the week after but he has no other plans for the next week. He is quite capable of doing nothing at all ( if I let him).

Best1sWest · 17/06/2014 19:51

Next 10 weeks

MorvahRising · 17/06/2014 23:06

MissScatterbrain I think you're right about focussing more on the other subjects. When it comes down to it statistics is not a big deal for DS.

eatyourveg it's a very fine line, isn't it, between confidence and panic!
