Hi all

I have decided to restart this thread good luck for friday!!!!

OP posts:
Seeline · 01/03/2012 09:56

A friend up at school told me that yesterday Soup - I thought that it was very unfair. From other threads I can see some results were released at midnight - why does London have to wait so long? Is it just to make sure all the schools/Council's will be closed when the results come out and people may have calmed down by teh morning or is that too sceptical Hmm

SoupDragon · 01/03/2012 10:05

I imagine they want to reduce the load on the website but I'm not sure Hmm I assumed they would be releasing them bit by bit throughout the day or something.

Can someone here please tell me whether there was a rejection form to send back to Whitgift? I can't find one in the envelope!

Seeline · 01/03/2012 10:08

We didn't have a rejection form either. When DH rang the school to advise them that we were rejecting their offer the lady asked for it to be confirmed in writing - DH said we only had an acceptance form so she said to just cross it through and send it back Shock
We decided that an email may be more appropriate!!
They obviously don't believe that anyone would want to turn down their offer Wink

SoupDragon · 01/03/2012 10:10

LOL - that's what I thought. I'm turning down a scholarship too - they won't be impressed :o

I shall compose a letter forthwith.

Ladymuck · 01/03/2012 12:28

Using a peacock quill I hope.

SoupDragon · 01/03/2012 17:17

Plucked freshly from a peacock butt.

The icing on the cake is that DS2 has been offered Wilsons too :)

Ladymuck · 01/03/2012 17:26

That will hopefully help balance the difference in scholarship offers between him and ds1 (though just goes to show how "random" the whole process can be). Let the race for A*s begin!

SoupDragon · 01/03/2012 18:44

I was just discussing with them how random it all seems. The crux seems to be that DS2 seriously stuffed up the English paper at T. Clearly he didn't do anywhere near as badly at either W or Wilsons.

Of course, his father is none too pleased as the T form has gone back :o

frankies69 · 01/03/2012 19:08

HI all... not been on for a while after the disappointment of not getting W....but I thought I would just muscle in and say me DS got his first choice of state school!!!!! He got Shirley High and we are absolutely thrilled for him...he received an academic place as we are out of the catchment area so all his hard work definitely paid off in the end!!!!

Thanks to all of you for the support before ... and good luck to your DS's for September xx

frankies69 · 01/03/2012 19:49

Thanks everyone, it was the one he wanted if he didn't get W....I know there is no comparison but he will do amazingly well there!!!! He loves every aspect of the school....

Fantastic news, Frankie - well done to your ds!!! Thanks for coming back and giving an update.

I'm sure he will do fantastically well at Shirley High - I think the headmaster there is very impressive and he runs a very tight ship.

You'll be off to Hewitts for school uniform for September!

Contenta · 01/03/2012 21:16

Also been an observer and wanted to say Well Done Frankie and your boy, you have been so genuine and I'm really happy for you!

stresscity · 05/03/2012 20:05

Ladies, do all the acceptances have to be in by today for T?

Seeline · 05/03/2012 20:08

I think so. I know either W or T was today and the other was the 7th, but not sure which way round. Sorry that really isn't much help Blush

stresscity · 05/03/2012 20:18

Thanks anyway Seeline
