I loathe the Scottish Government

I loathe the Scottish Government. I want to see the SNP/Green Party coalition roast in hell! They can take any MSP who voted for the Gender Reform Bill or the Hate Crime Laws with them. Is it now a hate crime for a Scottish Woman to say that?

I’m in total agreement with you

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 16/04/2024 12:42

I hear you. I know a few of my peers whose interest in politics goes as far as wanting independence/hating Tories and that's it so will default vote for them, being wilfully ignorant of what a shit show they are and continue to be. I'm politically homeless now.

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 16/04/2024 13:15

Me too!

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 16/04/2024 13:23

Me too. They don't represent me, never have and never will

HappierTimesAhead · 16/04/2024 13:24

😂Yep!

CocoapuffPuff · 16/04/2024 13:26

Snap. Bunch of tossers.

SirChenjins · 16/04/2024 13:33

Same. A shower of absolute incompetents promoted way above their respective capabilities who don’t have the nous to run a raffle, never mind a country.

Warmfeet · 16/04/2024 13:37

Totally agree with you, but I really don’t feel Scottish Labour are much better- they voted with the snp/greens on the GRA and the Hate Crime bill. So, Tories it is for me just now as the only Scottish party that seem capable of understanding how to look at consequences when establishing law. The next Holyrood election can’t come fast enough.

motheronthedancefloor · 16/04/2024 13:38

politically homeless.

HarpieDuJour · 16/04/2024 13:39

I hear you! It all feels so hopeless. I can't travel because the ferries are shit, the roads are awful, I have to be very careful what I say and to whom, and there just doesn't seem to be a good alternative to the SNP.

So much about devolution was great, how did we end up here, where ordinary women are afraid to speak their minds?

ThirdOne · 16/04/2024 13:40

Me too!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/04/2024 13:43

Dh described them as a raging ineptocracy. It is such a good phrase, I am using it as often as I can.

Heartbreaktuna · 16/04/2024 13:46

There seems to be no consequences at the ballot box for their actions. Or voters don't care.
The change to the Scottish sentencing guidelines for under 25s has made me incandescent with rage. The 75k higher rate tax threshold. The extra £10k we are having to pay in stamp duty versus if we were buying in England. But they remain untouchable.

Me about 14 billionth. Bunch of absolute clowns.

ShotgunSally · 16/04/2024 13:57

Absolutely agree with you, absolutely useless, unintended negative consequences to everything they touch which they refuse to learn from.

RaraRachael · 16/04/2024 13:59

I hate it too. Our local "trunk" roads are deathtraps and urgently need upgrading but since the SNP got in cahoots with the Greens it isn't going to happen. I am actually scared to drive anywhere as there's a near miss every time I'm out.

I just hope they get ousted at the next election. Unfortunately there are still too many diehard supporters with the "If you don't support independence, you can't call yourself Scottish" mentality.

There are SO many things in urgent need of being sorted - health, education, roads etc but they spend money of stupid things.

What makes you think Mairi Black will be any good? She has no real life experience of business or anything else, took a drag Queen into a primary school and has done nothing more that I can see.
Nicola Sturgeon was fantastic at selecting idiotic Yes men into the party - helped by the List policy - whereas would be get promoted or hired purely because they have diabetes or bipolar disease?

CocoapuffPuff · 16/04/2024 14:30

Mairi Black? The Mairi Black that called the women concerned with women's sex based rights being quietly dismantled under the guise of trans rights "Jeremy Hunts" in Westminster? That Mairi Black?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/04/2024 14:47

I agree with both @CocoapuffPuff and @Warmfeet - Mairi Black is the last person I would want to see in government, either Holyrood or Westminster. She is a perfect demonstration of why politicians should have to have some real life experience, including having worked outside politics, before they get elected.

Misthios · 16/04/2024 15:00

I see your Mairi Black, and raise you Ross Greer as a better example. Total waste of space, earning £72k a year as a MSP, living at home with mum and dad, total work experience zero.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/04/2024 15:01

Ohh yes, definitely, @Misthios.

Aaron95 · 16/04/2024 15:06

Every government becomes unpopular over time. Yet despite everything that has happened it seems likely the SNP will still be the largest party after the next election. Some people must still vote for them.

Scintella · 16/04/2024 15:48

Oh, we’re proud Scots - we’re so proud of ourselves and our nation that we need a bunch of idiots in the Scottish Parliament to make sure we hand over supervision of our DCs to strangers ,we have to have the police and those faultless parliamentarians ready to arrest, threaten, even criminalise us for using naughty words in the home or not! Of course, who knows what is actually said to whom in private. Or maybe it’ll just be the naughty step at the local police station what local police station they’ve gone
