I loathe the Scottish Government

I loathe the Scottish Government. I want to see the SNP/Green Party coalition roast in hell! They can take any MSP who voted for the Gender Reform Bill or the Hate Crime Laws with them. Is it now a hate crime for a Scottish Woman to say that?

They seem to be riding the gravy train for all it’s worth. They don’t seem to realise that all those expenses come from tax payers. Decisions they make seem to have no logical basis and everything is falling apart. They have no integrity.
I’ll be maximising my pension contributions to mitigate the increase in tax, as will DH.
Politically I’m also homeless. It’s looking like a Conservative vote .

And look at the shower of shite we've got as politicians! The spittle flecked feral potato, fucking Meep, Lorna 'you can't catch me' Slater, 'I did it all for Beth' ACH, the odious Robison etc etc etc.

They're also ridiculously influenced by know nothing student activists who can't bear to hear any opinion which differs from their own.

Proper embarrassing.

All of this. I've seen ACH in my local sainsbos a couple of times and the memory of him clapping away to the lovely Beth gives me the rage.

Waitwhat23 · 16/04/2024 22:31

I have to stop myself from hissing every time I walk past his constituency office.

Rainbowshit · 16/04/2024 22:32

I'll never forget or forgive them all congratulating themselves after the GRR vote and clapping the vile males in the balcony. Absolutely shameful.

Thank fuck for section 35.

likepebblesonabeach · 16/04/2024 22:45

Totally agree with you op.
They are a total embarrassment
Patrick Harvey absolutely does not want to help the majority of Scotland, he has his own political agenda and the SNP are dancing to his tune.

Misthios · 16/04/2024 23:02

I also would have never ever thought I'd be agreeing with Wings.

I know! Isn't that a turn up for the books.

Seacatt · 16/04/2024 23:24

For the most part, they are truly dreadful, especially Humza and the greens.

apples24 · 17/04/2024 06:40

I so strongly agree with everything that has been written here. We'll, apart from wishing Mhairi Black to be First Minister, could not think of anyone worse frankly.

Sadly I know many people who are completely oblivious to what a shitshow it has been and will, no doubt, keep being loyal.

There seems to be a shocking number of people in their thirties and younger who don't watch the news, read any papers, follow any politics, have any idea at all about current affairs. What 10 years ago would have kept these people somewhat tuned to what's going on, is now just filled with influencer nonsense across various social media platforms.

We're becoming such a dumb nation of sheep, easily led by iditios, so real idiocracy I suppose. Not just Scotland though, more widely also.

I said to her I would struggle to vote Lib Dem because of the gender woo nonsense and the "a woman is anyone who says they are a woman" bollocks. She reminded me that it is a rare thing that you find a party where you believe 100% in everything they stand for which is a fair point. The gender woo stuff can be reversed and there is signs that it has peaked

The Lib Dems along with the Greens voted against women rape victims being able to ask for a same sex medical examiner.
This is also a party where one of their MEP candidates actually told me that an all male list of prospective MSPs would be equally balanced between men and women, if half of those men self identified as women.
This is a party drowning in gender woo.

Misthios · 17/04/2024 07:36

Everyone has to decide to vote on the issues which are most important to them. In my constituency it's a straight race between Lib Dem and SNP. (Unless the boundary changes go through and then fuck knows what the tactical vote will be). For me, at present, it's most important to get the SNP out and that will probably mean a Lib Dem vote next general election. In the Scottish elections where the boundaries are different, a Labour vote.

I just wish they would get on with improving the country at the most basic level - fixing potholes, improving doctor/medical waiting times, put more funding into schools. Why did we pay double stamp duty (£25k more) on our new house in Scotland compared to what we would have paid in England - where is the money going?

Jeezitneverends · 17/04/2024 09:01

@Mishmashs the money’s going into a big black hole that is all their vanity projects…and don’t forget their doubling up on foreign aid to which we’re already contributing via rUK

Their abject stupidity in freezing council tax this year would be laughable if it wasn’t directly impacting public services so much…no one I’ve spoken to supports it-just bloody bonkers

Free prescriptions and university fees? Which you wouldn’t get in England.

I pay £8k per year more per year in income tax than I would in England. The prescription may not be charged at the pharmacy, but it sure as hell isn’t free.

THEY’RE NOT FREE!!! What do you think our higher taxes pay for?

Misthios · 17/04/2024 19:02

Nothing's "free" is it? Everything has to be paid for. But the SNP loves the free stuff meme - free baby boxes, free prescriptions, free uni fees, free buses for kids up to 25 - all has to be paid for.

Waitwhat23 · 17/04/2024 19:06

And it's free tuition for Scottish students, if there's space available before the cap on numbers. And the spaces available were slashed by 1,200 last year.

Pearsplums · 17/04/2024 19:11

Actually to be fair, I do think the bus travel and prescriptions are a good idea.

I think the uni fees are ridiculous and only serve to keep Scottish kids out of good Scottish unis. Far better to go back to means testing it.

I don’t know enough about baby boxes to comment.

ArtfullyCrumpled · 17/04/2024 19:16

2 more years of the SNP-Green coalition ramming identity politics down our collective throats. What the fuck are they going to come up with next?

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 17/04/2024 19:22

My two friends who aren't high earners by any means didn't use/need them.

Juryless rape trials are the next god awful idea that everyone, including the legal profession is against yet they're going to breenge ahead with anyway.

The free bus passes are a pain in the arse! Youngsters who go “missing from home” now have free run of the length and breadth of the country, and use it! Kids who go missing from eg the Aberdeen area, are routinely found in Edinburgh and Glasgow, exposing themselves to huge risks and tying up a huge amount of already vastly depleted police resources.
Theres also a huge amount of travelling mobile antisocial behaviour
