@runningpink your steps are so impressive! And your cycle. Your posts always inspire me to try harder.

My Sat was OK from an eating pov but yesterday I ate too much and both days I didn't exercise. The weather here was horrendous.

I'm going to be better today - hopefully!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 27/06/2022 09:31

I was naughty and didn't count over the weekend, but I kept up my exercise minutes and made some fairly healthy choices. Though there was wine and a cinema trip (but significantly reduced snacks) to factor in.

Another swimming class today and will fit a core class in at home at lunchtime. I'm away with work this week for a few days which will be tricky.

mapleleavesreturn · 27/06/2022 12:33

Holliday mode here but trying not to over do it. Off on Friday!!

runningpink · 27/06/2022 18:55

I forgot to tell you all that the job situ has been resolved and I should be working full time by around September 🤞🏻

With that in mind I’m considering going to a PT as il have money again! I went to one years ago after being on holiday for a month more as a kick start back to fitness type of thing.

@WouldBeGood you go to one don’t you? Is it worth it? If not too cheeky what does it cost? Thinking they can get me on track with doing weights and il feel really accountable to someone so hopefully help shift the extra pounds.

Aw @GoldenSongbird I’m glad that I can be a hell sometimes!

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo sound like you made the best choices you could whilst still enjoying yourself so don’t be hard on yourself

Hi all! Or should I say Bonjour !

Ive eaten all the good things and drink wine. And slept for Scotland. But done a reasonable amount of walking and going to try to do more and maybe a few old lady jogs.

@runningpink I go to PT at my gym and it’s made an absolutely massive difference. Chalk and cheese to my own efforts. I think I’m the fittest I’ve ever been despite my great age. I pay £163 a month for gym membership for me and DS and weekly PT for me. I know I’m lucky to afford it but I feel it’s securing a healthier future, as best I can. Plus I’ve lost really a lot of weight.

im rambling, but good to hear you’re all on it!

WouldBeGood · 27/06/2022 19:23

Oops that was me 😃

mapleleavesreturn · 27/06/2022 19:25

My dad started pt after a heart attack in his late 50s he was lucky to survive, and he had a cardiac event in his late 60s where they managed to resus him again, they said he only came round because he was so fit.

My dad lost a bit of weight between each dice with death, but he was still overweight the second time but hugely fitter.

So PT and good health can be the best investment you can make.

@runningpink I'm so glad to hear your work news!!!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 27/06/2022 19:51

Great news @runningpink

I don't use a PT, but friends go to a bootcamp type thing that has lots of classes and you get to go to X per month depending on membership, so that might be worth looking into if you don't find suitable PT or a bit pricey etc.

I did a core class and my swimming lesson. Not quite able to swim properly before my holiday but got enough confidence to practice a bit if I find a quiet indoor pool or something at our holiday resort.

Hope you're having a fab time @WouldBeGood!

WouldBeGood · 27/06/2022 19:54

That also includes all classes, pool and stuff.

and congrats on the job @runningpink !

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo it’s really lovely, thank you 😊

runningpink · 27/06/2022 21:17

My old gym done classes but they were pretty sporadic with the turn over of staff.
Not sure there is anything suitable around here at all. There are a few gyms but I think more for the weightlifting guys or very cliquey

Iv seen one PT advertise so I might send him a message and see about costs. Even for say three months to give me a kick start 🤔

Glad you are enjoying the holiday @WouldBeGood

Ooooh, 22,247 steps today! My muscles certainly know it. I've done nothing else much except walk!

WouldBeGood · 30/06/2022 09:25

Impressive steps @mapleleavesreturn !

I am in course to be restored to full fatness: too tempting here. Made a healthy choice god lunch yesterday, and had a small ice cream instead of a big one, but bread, cheese and wine are my downfall! Remind me to go on holiday somewhere I don’t like the food next time 🤣

mapleleavesreturn · 30/06/2022 09:51

I'm going to have a crack at dairy free when I get back from holiday, but not before I've eaten some Italian bread and cheese!

runningpink · 01/07/2022 17:53

Holidays are meant to be enjoyed so glad your having a good time @WouldBeGood

Im really struggling with my mental health this week. So needless to say diet and exercise has gone right out the window.
Iv not felt this awful in months. And it’s mostly due to one person. I know I need to cut ties but it’s hard

Just stuffed my face with a whole load of crap. 😢

The PT didn’t reply to my message and noticed on their Facebook page yesterday that they have decided to not take on any new clients. Sure they could have replied at least

Im considering signing up to Team RH again. Think the accountability might be what I need and make me more focused.

Iv spent all day at work keeping the tears in and now that I’m home I can’t bloody cry!

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 02/07/2022 08:10

Oh, @runningpink I’m sorry you’re feeling bad. As regards the PT they obviously weren’t the one for you! Be kind to yourself. You’re always so active, and that’s the main thing. If you’re really struggling could you fork out for therapy instead? I have found it very helpful, if you get the right person.

Anyway, keep posting here, I’ll need this thread more than ever when I return. 💐

mapleleavesreturn · 02/07/2022 10:11

Sorry you're feeling so low @runningpink - try and just do nice things for yourself if you can, I always eat when I can't resolve emotional things, and have to pull myself round. You have done amazingly on the fitness Flowers

runningpink · 02/07/2022 13:17

I thankfully have a counsellor who I maybe speak to once a month on average. Iv been doing really good last few months so this is hard to be back struggling again.
I have managed to bring our next scheduled session forward but still need to wait until following week.
I do feel better for having had the sense to do this.

Iv got friends staying this evening, rotten timing but maybe it will take my mind off stuff. 24 hours of faking it and not consuming too much wine.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 03/07/2022 07:16

Sorry you're struggling with your mental health @runningpink. Glad to read you have brought your counsellor appointment forward, I hope it helps. Did you manage to have nice time with your friends?

I've not really been counting over last few days. With holidays imminent I think I've already taken my foot off the gas. I too will need this thread when I get back!

mapleleavesreturn · 03/07/2022 14:30

Well I've eaten a lot of salad, and cheese, and more cheese, and wine, and Italian biscuits...5 more days!

@runningpink you'll manage to come out of this, I hope friends distracted you.

runningpink · 03/07/2022 15:19

Thank you all for being so kind. 😍

I did mange to have a nice time and iv calmed down a lot and feel a lot less anxious.

Im going to try and focus on me until I speak to counsellor and not let the things causing me to be so anxious and depressed overwhelm me if I can.

Enjoy your holidays everyone, this thread will be here when you need it again

WouldBeGood · 04/07/2022 10:24

Sounds great @mapleleavesreturn !

you’re doing brilliantly @runningpink ! Glad you’ve got counselling sorted.

If anyone is interested in straight talking but reassuring fitness advice have a look at Syatt fitness on Instagram. Cheered me up today after a week of lack of exercise and eating 😃

mapleleavesreturn · 04/07/2022 10:32

I also discovered at the dentist that there is a strictly fitness thing I mean to look up when I get back!

runningpink · 05/07/2022 19:22

I am starving!!
But I’m on a decent amount of calories so think it’s just my body readjusting.
I’m going out out at the weekend which I hope does me good to have some company and cheer me up a bit.

Still struggling mentally but got it under control to an extent if that even makes sense. I’m just focused on my session with counsellor next week.

Also hope I still mange to lose even half a pound despite the planned drinks.

How is everyone else doing?

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 06/07/2022 07:51

Glad you’ve got a fun weekend to look forward to @runningpink .

Ive just spiralled into fat bastard territory this week: dear god I’m going to need to beast it next week when I get back on it 🤣

@mapleleavesreturn is that Fitsteps? I did that a few times before lockdown. It’s fun!

mapleleavesreturn · 06/07/2022 07:57

Not sure @WouldBeGood I'll look that up. Yes, 2 days of holiday left here and quite a lot of indulgence has happened...
