Hello! Glad to see some of you back on here. I've just been thinking about my goals for the new year.

I really plateaued the back half of this year so I'd like to lose around a stone and get more weight training and flexibility work into my routine. I've got a significant birthday coming up and I really want to be in good shape going into the next half century. Also, I gave up smoking a few years ago and have been 'social' smoking far too often of late so I need to knock that on the head too.

This thread really helped me lose a stone last year, would love it to be up and running again this year!

I did a bodycombat class for the first time in a few weeks yesterday and am sore this morning!!

Hello! I've just been plodding away, doing WW, going to an online dance class at least twice per week and losing about 1lb per week. I need to go back to weights and yoga. Alk of your different exercise routines really inspire me.

I've really been trying to adjust my mindset to see healthy eating and exercise as just part of my life. Of course, for Christmas DH got me a giant box of expensive chocolates 🙄 but he hadn't even noticed I hadn't finished the ones he got me for my birthday months ago.

Well done @GoldenSongbird sounds like great results for you! Changing the Kinsey makes a big difference. My exercise routine isn't quite where I want it to be, but I now feel a bit sluggish and antsy if I haven't exercised for a few days which is such a change for me.

Hey everyone, nice to see you here 🙂.

I'm not thriving on the healthy eating/exercise front at the moment, and have gained the weight I lost in the summer, but I feel at peace with it. I've been trying to get hormones under control, and now my HRT seems to be helping I'm ready to look after myself better again!

I've rejoined the gym through my flexible benefits at work and will finish off all the chocolate in the house over the next week or so 😄.

Great to see how you are all doing, let's inspire each other!

Realised I've got 3 months Apple fitness with new phone - just did a 20 min dance work out - quite pleased. Can't go too fast as my system will be in shock after 10 years of virtually no cardio!

Aiming for another 20 mins slot pre bed.

Have you done anymore bodycombat @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo?

I have had 6 PT sessions. I feel more confident doing some of the exercises with the PT there. But I haven’t attempted to do any on my own
yet. He says I’m getting stronger but I’m yet to feel that myself.

I think the usual gym influx will happen this month which will make using the gym harder but I’m determined to plod on.

Day 1 starts tomorrow. Meal plan done and food weighed and logged on MFP for Tuesday.

We have got this! 2023 is going to be our year!

I'm starting logging food and gym visits from tomorrow as well, @runningpink. Would have started today, but went into the office first, and got distracted and the gym had an earlier closing today. My motto for this year - I can do this!!!!

167.8 Ib starting weight! 🤦🏻‍♀️
(didn’t have time to take measurements as left house at 6am so will do that tomorrow)

First mini goal is to reach 159Ib so the next number bracket

Ultimate goal to reach around 140-150 Ibs

I can and will do this!

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo that's good that you notice the difference when you don't exercise and feel better when you do.
My friend (who has lost lots of weight) takes full length photos of herself every month so she can see the difference when she looks back. I think I might try that this year. I tend to shy away from photos when I feel heavier but I love seeing her progress shots.

Good luck everyone! We have been held up on our new year travels so now not home till tomorrow so will need to weigh in then! I've got three weeks until a weekend away so at a minimum need to lose the Christmas excess before then!

Right, I'm back and I've weighed in. About three pounds on over the holidays, but it's been a very snacky/carby/alcohol week so I'm hoping some hydration and sensible eating will take care of that quite quickly. Don't imagine I'll have energy for exercise today, but hopefully from tomorrow.

How have you been getting on @runningpink ?

That's a good idea of your friend's @GoldenSongbird - she must be pleased to see her progress.

Have you managed to clear the chocolate @TeeNoG ? Our delayed return means there's far too much chocolate around here!!

Made it to the gym. Which my legs are hating me for. And I've booked a PT for a few sessions, just to check on form / bad habits (that I know I've picked up).

Was doing ok until yesterday and I was hungry, went a run and was more hungry so a pizza was consumed! 🤦🏻‍♀️

But I have tracked it and will try and reduce my calories a little today to help balance out slightly. I’m not letting one blip ruin it!

One of my old injury niggles has flared up which I’m upset about but hoping to plod on and do lots of stretching and foam rolling to help.

Water and steps on track
Will get weight sessions in over the weekend

@GoldenSongbird i plan to take progress pics and measurements once a week or fortnight. So even if the scales don’t change sometimes I may see a difference by these instead

Right, officially back on it everyone!

Bodypump class and a short flexibility session done. Wanted to get some steps in on my lunch braeak but the weather was vile!

Calorie intake fairly low. Can have a wee snack later and still come in well under. High protein day too.

Also hoping that Wouldbegood is ok to @runningpink it would be great to have her back!

I’m struggling today, I’m really tired which is making me feel hungry. I don’t think I’m actually hungry if you know what I mean.
Your message has came at the right time as I was contemplating eating something which would take me over calories so thank you!

Went off the diet at weekend as I wasn’t organised and I done a really long run yesterday so was starving!

I had planned to gym after work but I’m still sore from PT at the weekend and too tired so going to head a walk shortly to get a few more steps in.

Sounds like you are in the zone @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo well done.

Drink some water @runningpink. Anything high protein low cal that you can have to make you feel full? I had a piece of chicken this afternoon rather than a biscuit, which helped manage the afternoon lull cravings!

I managed not to succumb to wine or anything but a small biscuit that was well within my calorie limit.

Finding the urge to snack harder today than yesterday. I was swamped at work yesterday though, maybe I just need to be seriously overworked so I don't have time to think about work 😂
