Well done @Tomorrowisanewday !

runningpink · 27/08/2022 17:16

My usual of being rubbish on the food front again this week! I do well until I get home from work then it’s self sabotage! Slacking on the weights again this week but aiming to do some after my tea.

My running is improving again. Getting close to sub 26 again which is my mini goal as I’m miles away from PB times.

Im considering one of the ninja food things, a multi use one which has slow cook option so I could cook food which will be ready when I get in from work so less chance of picking at rubbish. I need to research it though.

In the meantime I have chicken breast and mince purchased today so if anyone has any go to recipes other than bolognaise, lasagna and chicken wraps i’m all ears! I hate cooking which doesn’t help!

I purchased a bikini! I haven’t had time to try it on yet so that’s tomorrows job alongside some other bits I ordered. So will report back tomorrow.

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo you are such an inspiration! That’s another great loss!

@GoldenSongbird you have given me the kick up the bum to take some measurements which I keep
meaning to do but don’t get round to!

@Tomorrowisanewday well done on your confidence with the weights! Another amazing achievement!

How are you doing @mapleleavesreturn and @WouldBeGood ?

We really do need to remember the achievements aren’t just what’s on the scales don’t we

Beef kheema from scott baptie of food for fitness. Very tasty, very easy

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 29/08/2022 15:32

I am not feeling very inspirational after falling off the wagon at the weekend! Visitors, the Fringe, sunshine... You know how it is.

So I've decided on a Super September Challenge. Anyone want to join me? I have two goals for the month

  • regular exercise, including strength for the whole month. No excuses.
  • get back to my pre-holiday weight which requires consistent calorie counting.

You don't need to have the same goals, just whatever you want to focus on for the next month!

I'm also looking at the ninja foodie @runningpink I started looking at air fryers to cut down oven use, and then got sucked into the do it all ninja foodie thing. We have a tiny kitchen though which is my only concern.

mapleleavesreturn · 29/08/2022 16:54

September has to be my month! I have hit 12k steps but still eating too much as usual, grrrrr

GoldenSongbird · 29/08/2022 17:14

Your step counts are amazing! All of you - well done!

Happy new bikini! @runningpink I bought a bikini before we went on holiday. I only wore it under a floaty kaftan but the sky did not fall down. I did feel a bit like Elizabeth Taylor at the Chateau Marmont. Wink Korean beef is easy to make and tasty. Here's a recipe for it - Korean beef recipe I miss out the sugar.

I've struggled to be motivated this week. I'm forced myself to walk and do classes but had some days where I ate tonnes and then had to compensate for the next three days. I'm doing a strength training class tonight and then a yogilates one. It's a last ditch attempt to lose something before my weigh-in tomorrow 😃

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 30/08/2022 21:06

Good for you @GoldenSongbird I super styled my bikini wearing on holiday today - floaty garments, new hat and fancier flip flops. I felt very glamorous!

That Korean beef recipe looks nice - and stilly tasty without the sugar?

Make September your month @mapleleavesreturn ! What small goals will you choose?

How are you getting on @WouldBeGood @runningpink @Tomorrowisanewday ?

runningpink · 31/08/2022 07:35

Iv picked up another bloody bug. Guessing my immune system was down from last one and with my job Iv unfortunately got ill again. I’m never ill. 😥

I cannot take more time off work so having to drag myself in and hope for the best. It’s going to be a long day.

OP posts:
mapleleavesreturn · 31/08/2022 08:08

Oooh @runningpink that's awful xx

Small goals: cut out on gin/wine, consumption has crept up again and I'm trying to do this thing for my immune system which is eating fruits and vegetables/food you don't typically buy.

I've heard that as much variety as possible is good for your immune system as we do into cold, flu and noro season and anyone with picky small kids typically gets stuck in a rut of a limited range of foods.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/09/2022 17:28

Oh what a shame @runningpink how are you today?

Good luck with the cutting down on gin/wine and increasing variety of fruit & ve @mapleleavesreturn

I have re-started the calorie counting today and currently working up to doing some exercise.

GoldenSongbird · 02/09/2022 22:15

I keep accidentally buying nice snacks and then realising I can only have teeny tiny portions or none at all. Maybe one day, I'll reach a stage where I don't absentmindedly buy nice snacks in the first place. I'm hoping to get out for lots of walks this weekend to compensate for the snack aberrations.

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo yy Korean beef is nice without the sugar. Tbh I'm not someone who cuts out sugar generally but I found it made this recipe too sweet.

@runningpink hope you feel better soon. Flowers

@mapleleavesreturn good luck on eating different fruit and veg. It's so easy to get into a rut.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 03/09/2022 07:09

Thanks @GoldenSongbird I might give it a bash.

We have been sucked into the hype about air fryers etc. and got over excited when we found a ninja foodi 15 in 1 in stock and it was on offer, so we now need to find low calorie meals we can use it for to justify the cost!

My super September got off to a bumpy start - didn't exercise yesterday and over indulged on the calories. I was really tired and DH was out, too easy to lounge on the sofa and snack!!

mapleleavesreturn · 03/09/2022 13:41

Oh the nice snack temptation is a huge problem for me. Not a bad week here, avoided booze, tonnes of steps. Still too many snacks but I'll take it.

The air fryers are calling me too although I keep thinking about the additional clutter...

runningpink · 08/09/2022 07:44

Hi all,

how is everyone doing? I’m a walking disaster with all diet aspects!

Im attempting to reset today and hit steps and log all food even if it isn’t in my allowance/macro goals, drink my water.

Iv hurt my back (honestly, don’t know if I’m just getting old or just been unlucky recently) so weights aren’t on the radar for time being!

OP posts:
GoldenSongbird · 09/09/2022 11:01

I've been doing ok. It's odd because I feel demotivated but am just plodding on. Finally reached 1 stone loss this week - hurrah! But so many still to go.

mapleleavesreturn · 09/09/2022 14:52

One stone is great! So so this week but next week should be better as really busy so should mean less snacking....

runningpink · 11/09/2022 06:49

One stone is amazing! Well done @GoldenSongbird

So much for my attempt to reset. Had an awful week at work and then all the uncertainty over when the Queens funeral would be nearly tipped me over the edge as was worried it could impact my holiday but thankfully all should be fine. (I wasn’t sure if it could impact airport staffing, be expected to close or any no fly zones type thing if it had been same day)

All the stuff has really triggered my anxiety from covid/lockdowns. Similarities with lots of cancellations, all the waiting and unknown, doom and gloom on the tv etc Feels like flashbacks if that makes sense

I will try and be sensible this week and then be 100% all over it after my holiday.

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 11/09/2022 09:05

Oh, yes, @runningpink I’m getting the same anxious feeling back. Plus I’ll lose a precious day of work now as the funeral is on my work day next week, so no bloody pay. Glad you’ll get away! I think a holiday is just what you need 😊

Thats amazing @GoldenSongbird well done! Now you know you can do it 😊

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo hope you’re still on it?!

and keep it up @mapleleavesreturn !

I’ve been really beasting the gym for the past couple of weeks, and getting steps and calorie burn up. Diet not been fully on track so going to focus on getting enough lean protein plus carbs to fuel my efforts, but still lose weight. Broke up with my DP recently so but too much wine, but it is making food and exerciSe choices at weekends especially much easier.

mapleleavesreturn · 11/09/2022 09:25

Sorry to hear about the break up wouldbegood - hope you're ok? Definitely still keeping on here.

runningpink · 11/09/2022 10:09

I’m glad it’s not just me. It’s just the same with people being on either side of the fence and being massively judged if you aren’t interested in it all/have a different opinion.

I definitely need a holiday. On the countdown down.

So sorry to hear about your break up @WouldBeGood but good to see you are not letting it stop your diet and exercise mission

OP posts:
WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 11/09/2022 11:15

Hello everyone! Sorry to hear your news @WouldBeGood hope you're doing ok!

Well done on the stone @GoldenSongbird

My super September ended up being a bit of a damp squib and I have been rubbish on all fronts! Contemplating getting out for a walk this afternoon to kickstart the week. We've just had lots on which made diet and exercise tricky!

WouldBeGood · 11/09/2022 19:30

Thanks all, I’m fine, it was partly the lack of activity that made me end it. So onwards and upwards!

WouldBeGood · 11/09/2022 19:31

Not that sort of activity! 😃

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 11/09/2022 19:59

😂😂😂 @WouldBeGood

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 12/09/2022 16:14

Right back on the calorie counting today. Went for a walk yesterday and about to do a body combat class. I can do this. We can all do this! How's everyone's motivation this week?
