Yay, @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo !

i too am making a big effort this week. I’ve seen really good changes in how bits of me look, but need to work on the belly 😳 Weights yesterday, 5 mike walk just now and PT later. Focussing hard on upping calories used and steps.

mapleleavesreturn · 13/09/2022 17:34

Well I've accidentally done 25k steps today thanks to the Queen! Not a bad week here.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/09/2022 18:33

Good work @mapleleavesreturn and @WouldBeGood

Doing well on the calories today so far, did a mini run (very sluggish though) but have just done a Les mills strength class so pretty chuffed with that.

Weigh in day tomorrow...

mapleleavesreturn · 13/09/2022 18:35

Fingers crossed for weight loss what !

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/09/2022 20:43

Thanks both. I'm not optimistic, but glad to back on it. And able to do a few push ups on my toes!

Going away for the weekend though which will be challenging!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 14/09/2022 07:01

Weigh in done - haven't lost any weight recently but I haven't put any on! Need a concerted effort to get back to my pre-summer weight (more than just saying I need a concerted effort...)

mapleleavesreturn · 14/09/2022 14:10

No weight gain means you're already getting back to form what do could be much worse! A lot of steps being done this week.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 20/09/2022 18:52

Hi everyone, how are you all doing?

I was away for a calorific weekend, but I have just done a bodycombat class and don't have too much socialising in the coming weeks so feeling motivated about trying to get back on the wagon. Only 96 days until Christmas!

Anyone with me?

I'm in! Was just thinking about Christmas - no major disasters this week although boozy weekend :(

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 20/09/2022 19:50

Whoop!

WouldBeGood · 21/09/2022 09:02

I’m in too, @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo !!

part of the reason I have been on here. This is that I have been madly walking! Over 90,000 steps last week which is really good for me. It’s also really helping with calorie burn as I am religiously sticking to my four serious weights sessions a week. I’m actually enjoying it all. Still too much wine, so I’ll be motivated on here!

GoldenSongbird · 21/09/2022 13:29

I'm in. I've still been plodding away - 4 classes per week - resistance bands; weights; yogilates; dance exercise. I thought I'd hit a groove - not overly thinking about food just making good choices. But I've fallen out of it again. Still exercising but working out what to eat feels like a chore.
You're all motivating to get meal planning again. I also want a fruit and veg box. I used to get one during Covid but then we moved. Does anyone have any suggestions?

mapleleavesreturn · 21/09/2022 18:48

I took out a 4 week trial of mindful chef - which is still really expensive at £75 pw for 4 dinners for 4, but good quality and good recipes so far.

Oddbox gets good reviews @GoldenSongbird - I'm just going to Tesco and seeing what's in season that we haven't eaten recently, we had lychees a few times last week.

Tomorrowisanewday · 21/09/2022 21:24

I'm in. I've had probably the biggest decision of my business life to make this month, and everything has been neglected, as all my time has been spent, sitting on the sofa making pros and cons lists, and drinking wine while I search my soul. But the decision is now made, right or wrong, so October will be the month when I start looking after myself again 🙂

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 21/09/2022 22:03

Hello all!

That sounds a bit exciting @Tomorrowisanewday I hope it works out well!

DH is the main cook in our house, he tends to plough through the recipe books to see what we haven't had for a while. So no veg box recs from me I'm afraid. We've been experimenting with the ninja foodi, proving to be a useful purchase so far.

Well done on the steps @WouldBeGood that's fab!

Today was weigh in day for me - half a pound down on last weekend which wasn't bad after a boozy social weekend (though did get a lot of steps in).

Did a core class today which HURT.

Tomorrowisanewday · 21/09/2022 22:58

Bit exciting / bit absolutely terrifying!! Having to rely on others, which i'm not used to😣

WouldBeGood · 22/09/2022 06:38

Oh, that’s good @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo - back on it!

And exciting times @Tomorrowisanewday !

Good to hear @mapleleavesreturn and @GoldenSongbird 😊I would do much better if I did meal planning properly. Might actually make that my goal for next week, and use the weekend to plan and prep.

14 is also on board now, and comes to the gym, happy with “healthy” high protein foods, so it’s good for him too

Tomorrowisanewday · 22/09/2022 12:25

Went to the gym this morning, focussed on shoulders and arms, which I've obviously neglected for some time. Doubt I'll be able to lift my arms above my head tomorrow to wash my hair..............

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 22/09/2022 19:22

Good work @Tomorrowisanewday

I wish my 14 year old would take up the gym @WouldBeGood a few of his friends have started so I hoped that might motivate him. He gave up most activities during lockdown and didn't re-start so I'm trying to subtly encourage some hobbies apart from gaming Scouts, tai-kwon-do, swimming classes, guitar lessons all fell by the wayside. I know he's not the only one and some drop off was inevitable as he hit the teens but it's one of my most ranty covid topics!

Sorry, back to the fitness - bodycombat done!

WouldBeGood · 23/09/2022 05:00

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo i bribed him to go back as I was similarly concerned. 😳 But he’s now keen and motivates me too, so it’s worked.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 28/09/2022 12:43

I should try that @WouldBeGood !

Not the best week again - no gains but no losses either. Surely October is when I find my mojo...

I heard something on the news today about the importance of strength training in the over 50s. Not sure if that applies, but it's certainly round the corner for me!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 28/09/2022 19:52

Bodypump done!

Good on the calorie count.

However, I'm out for tapas tomorrow night. Must. Show. Restraint.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 30/09/2022 10:32

Did not restrain on the food, but mostly ate charcuterie, that's all protein so not tooooooo bad 😀

And while being out meant no exercise classes I did rack up 13K steps so all good.

How is everyone?

Tomorrowisanewday · 02/10/2022 10:10

Got back to my previous PB of 200kg for Leg Press today. Felt like superman!

Will be crawling up the stairs at work tomorrow like I'm 110.......

runningpink · 02/10/2022 17:39

Hello all!

Sorry for the radio silence! Had a stressful few weeks then my amazing holiday and was just chasing my tail all last week and living on junk food!

I am feeling so fat and yuck. I don’t want to be miserable anymore so 100% committed from tomorrow. Iv made meals and mostly logged for next two days. (Some stuff can’t log until I make it), I will hit my steps (been lazy with this), drink my water (been super lazy with this) and aim for three weights workouts a week.

Im going to concentrate on calories rather than protein/fibre goals for now but with an aim to eat more food with these in them

I want ME back. The me who is motivated to exercise, has food under control and wants to run races etc
