I'm in the car reading a few threads where folks are fed up with the misery and fighting so thought I'd start a new thread. Not for politics or covid or fighting , just general stuff 🙂

I've had a nice day, off work on hols so we took a wee drive down to Peebles and had lunch, bought a few pies from lovely butcher and now heading home.

Thank you for all your kind words re my cousin. She has woken up now, so hopefully they'll soon know more, both about her injuries, and what happened.

We've recently put up a bird feeder in our garden, just outside the lounge window. I love watching the birds coming to eat, and the occasional visit from a squirrel who hasn't worked out how to reach the food yet.

@Wbeezer

I cant actually remember when i got my second jab, my memory does not store info like that well, it feels like it was ages ago... Re. Being invited to make an appt, if we wait will be sent a blue letter with an appt like last time? I couldn't find anything on the website about a waiting to be sent an appointment letter so i dont know if booking it myself is an optional thing or the only option?
I got a letter in a blue envelope with the appointment already allocated...

I need to catch up with the thread. Feel like I've got 101 things to do at the moment.

How's everyone's weekends going? Baby ds has been sleeping better, regularly sleeping through til around 5am, then he wants to dose on me until we get up sometime after 6am. That's much better than up several times a night though.

We're having a relaxing morning, dh is having a lie in. Will go to the play park at lunch time then my mum is coming over to see the kids late afternoon.

ssd · 21/11/2021 11:16

I had a lie in and im watching alan titchmarsh. I love his Sunday morning programme. Its relaxed and easy going. Im definitely getting old and i dont careGrin
We had plans for today which might change, im not sure. I'll do whatever, i dont really care. It seems to be sunny which is nice. Hope the rain stays away.

ssd · 21/11/2021 11:18

So sorry to read your news @GrouchyKiwi, what an awful thing to happen.

ssd · 21/11/2021 11:19

My booster is this week, had the flu jag already in Boots.

prettybird · 21/11/2021 11:22

Beautiful day here in Glasgow Smile

Going to make my Christmas cake today (soaked the fruit yesterday, with quadruple the alcohol stated in the recipe Grin), go along and support the Women's rugby team (with the tablet I made for them last night) no Seconds game this week and spend some time in the garden tidying up.

And I must must must order my tulips for my raised bed and planters Blush

WouldBeGood · 21/11/2021 11:37

It is a beautiful day. I’m chilling too, had real bacon and scrambled egg with my boy, he’s played me his latest guitar tunes, and dog walk, cake, and supermarket with DD this afternoon.

I wish I liked Christmas cake @prettybird! The making of it sounds lovely

ssd · 21/11/2021 11:38

That sounds an eventful day @prettybird

ssd · 21/11/2021 11:39

And a nice day for @WouldBeGood

prettybird · 21/11/2021 11:42

Ds unusually for young people absolutely loves Christmas cake so it always gets finished Xmas Grin

He was down this weekend too, to go to the rugby game yesterday (which was crap even if Scotland won Hmm - just as well dh and my tickets had been freebies Wink) with his grandfather (who has debenture seats). Ive just taken him into town to get the train back up to Aberdeen.

dementedpixie · 21/11/2021 12:10

I was treated to a back massage and facial on Friday for my birthday and then dh whisked me off to Aberfoyle for dinner bed and breakfast on Friday night. Lovely hotel but a bit pricey and seemed in the middle of nowhere.

Abandoned 15 year old ds at home as dd was in Glasgow visiting her long distance boyfriend who was up from Newcastle. Ds had takeaway pizza for dinner and was in charge of feeding the cats and they all survived OK.

When we got home yesterday I decided to make me a cake and made dh and ds sing happy birthday to me Grin

dementedpixie · 21/11/2021 12:11

And ds is off to play rugby today too - its a home game so not too far to travel (Hamilton)

prettybird · 21/11/2021 12:24

Dh was going to go down to Hamilton this morning for the girls' games but ds wanted a lift into Queen Street and we only gave one car.

ElephantOfRisk · 21/11/2021 12:33

Lots of rugby happening!

I've had a lazy morning, I woke early and couldn't sleep so I've just faffed about, played games on my phone, done some laundry, had some lunch. It's a glorious day and I guess I should be outside but can't be bothered! Grin. Plan (sort of) is to make a start on clearing out DSs bedroom but he's not up yet and I'm losing any enthusiasm I might have built up. Cooking Italian style lamb steaks for dinner later.

Ah, lovely cake you've made there @dementedpixie. It's DH's big birthday next week and I had to shop buy a cake as I'm not gifted that way. DS and I are going to some beginners baking classes in the new year.

dementedpixie · 21/11/2021 12:48

The other is vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream

Oh i want cake now Grin

Me and dh are watching a ch5 xmas movie. Well, watching is optimistic. Ripping the piss is more like it. They are always the same Grin

prettybird · 21/11/2021 13:29

My Christmas cake is in the oven Xmas Smile. I usually take a picture of it just before it goes in but I forgot this year.

dementedpixie · 21/11/2021 13:44

We watched Elf yesterday. First time dh had seen it from the start

I'm watching Masterchef the professionals that I missed the other night

Ladylunchalot · 21/11/2021 14:19

I'm delighted my big bottle of Bailey's was in stock with my shopping delivery. Going to tidy up then enjoy a wee glass as it's been one shitty week.

dementedpixie · 21/11/2021 14:42

I swept some leaves and walked along the street accompanied by the 2 cats. Its cold out there. Hope ds has his underarmour on!

dementedpixie · 21/11/2021 14:43

I have also ironed some shirts and school trousers. No word from dd in Glasgow. I'm sure she'll be in touch soon enough when she wants picked up from the train station
