I'm in the car reading a few threads where folks are fed up with the misery and fighting so thought I'd start a new thread. Not for politics or covid or fighting , just general stuff 🙂

I've had a nice day, off work on hols so we took a wee drive down to Peebles and had lunch, bought a few pies from lovely butcher and now heading home.

Thanks @ElephantOfRisk!!
Ive made lentil soup and am making a curry, then buggering off to have a wander in the Range. I wont spend much. Its wet and dreary here. Glad you enjoyed your day offm

ssd · 18/10/2021 16:39

Does anyone know how to find out whats on the telly each day? Like an easy version of the radio times? I miss stuff cos i never know whats on.

ElephantOfRisk · 18/10/2021 16:52

It's a very lentil soup day. Very dreich here at home but was reasonably pleasant in Peebles, even saw a little bit of blue sky!

I don't think I've ever been in The Range, household type stuff yes?

As for TV, I'm the same, I think you need to look on every channel on-line, I pop over to Telly Addicts section every so often and see threads about programmes I hadn't realised/had forgotten were on.

I'm off the whole week, return to work is so so to be honest but i'm not going to think about it for now and just enjoy being off. No particular plans for the rest of the week. Some housework, maybe a trip to Costco for meat for the freezer. Thinking about going to the Bond movie but I generally can't concentrate for that long any more so not sure.

Oh the new Bond film is v good, didn't feel too long. Enjoy your week off - I'm off mid November for a week and it can't come soon enough. Hoping my new sofas will be here by then and I can chill out on them, I'm so rock and roll Grin

The Range where I am used to be Homebase and a lot of the products never changed much. There's household and garden stuff and DIY and pet products. Also arts and crafts and furniture in there.

I have been to body balance and body attack, taken a parcel to the keystore to get returned and been to aldi and home bargains before picking ds up from school

Ah bliss I need this thread.

ssd · 18/10/2021 17:18

I would if i could! Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for that tv link, I'll get myself sorted now @ElephantOfRisk. Don't know if anyone is looking for a recommendation, but Spiral is brilliant, its French so subtitles, but so good. Its a cop drama and the first season is gory, but stick with it, its brilliant.

readsalotgirl63 · 18/10/2021 17:30

We've enjoyed "Ozark" - quite gory but good. I'm now watching The Crown" until season 4 of Ozark comes along. I'm going to make soup for tea tonight too

titsintiers · 18/10/2021 17:45

It's soup kinda weather isn't it.

I had some for lunch today and I've already made some super green soup for tomorrow's lunch 🤓

Apparently we're going to watch some scary stuff over the next few weeks. Halloween innit 🎃

ElephantOfRisk · 18/10/2021 18:40

green soup sounds too healthy! Grin

I'm not much of a fan of the horror genre per se but it is halloween soon so I'll maybe take a look.

Spiral is pretty decent but i just marvel at the french justice system for most of it. Love Ozark and impatiently waiting on the next series.

Love Fargo but we stuffed up a bit. We had two other series on the go when it was broadcast on Channel 4. We recorded from episode 3 onwards thinking we could watch the first two on catch up but by the time we got round to it it was gone. Sad

Best telly guide (or at least keeping up) is watching gogglebox. We watch a lot of what gets featured there / though might give the Squid Game a swerve.

I love getting an occasional Sunday paper too, one with supplements. Crucially with a TV section. It lasts all week - not just the TV guide but the whole paper.

Dinner here was 3 bean chilli. Enough for tomorrow too which is always a bonus.

Hope you have a good break away @ElephantOfRisk

Squid game was actually okay. You get over the violence pretty quickly (especially if you've watched all the Narcos type stuff)

So in December, Mr G and I decided to decorate the downstairs. We have an open plan living room and dining room. Bought the paper... Mr G got ill.

Well... I've stripped the top layer off, we're decorating 😂😂

Now, the good thing about that is that it means he is well and truly recovered now!

We're quite enjoying Squid Games. Only 3 episodes left to watch I think.

I mostly watch stuff like Dr pimple popper and the bad skin clinic. Love a good squeeze

ElephantOfRisk · 18/10/2021 19:48

I've gotten into watching a guy wash and valet cars on you tube, strangely very relaxing.

I'm still waiting for my dinner as dh is playing football. It's leftover Spanish chicken although we need to add the chicken in as we ate all the chicken thighs in the first portion (there's baby potatoes, veg, chorizo, etc still left)

Groovee · 18/10/2021 19:48

Mr G is doing well. Gets tired easily. But so much better than previously.

ssd · 18/10/2021 19:50

I'll need to look out for Ozark, I've never heard of that. Sounds good. I love a serious that we can get into, especially on these dark nights. I used to buy the sunday times and keep the tv section but it started annoying me so i stopped. Im back from the shops, spent money i shouldn't have. Oh well. Thats good you're decorating now @Groovee, hope it goes well. Am away to have some dinner.
