Hi, new thread

Lovely to see all the old posters again. Don't go now you are back.

Annie/UC/MHIS - lovely to see you and thanks MHIS for the FB chat.

Hi Tannee, DP probably does know what's coming - hence the charm offensive. You have made a huge sacrifice for him and its high time he did something positive in return. Good luck with it all.
Baffy & Lush if you read this, hope the little mini teabags are doing well and not giving you too many sleepless nights.
HW - hope your brood are settling into school again OK. Mine are really enjoying it. I will have to start thinking about whether ds1 will do the 11+ or not soon. I think he can do it, he just lacks confidence in himself.
DP is behaving himself too, we even survived his birthday without any mishaps for the first time ever!

ginnny · 15/09/2009 10:40

Ooh crikey TFM - good luck with that!!
Good excuse to put your feet up for a few weeks and get waited on though

macdoodle · 16/09/2009 20:09

oops sorry just saw this - had dropped of my active convos list!
I am ok - will come and update soon I promise, decree absolute imminent/pending, new DP is lovely but I am unsure...
Girls are fab, DD2 will be 2 this xmas where has the time gone!

Hope you are all ok, and all the little teabags are thriving

Hi all
dd has been keeping me all to herself lately so not much time to post Nights have been bad but they seem to be improving a bit. Got her weighed today and she is now 6lb 10oz which isn't bad considering she was due yesterday but had 10 weeks of intrauterine growth to catch up on. She's been quite windy/refluxy but things have been a bit better since I increased the volume of milk at each feed - think she was hungry so gulping and taking in air. She is asleep on me now
annie - congrats on being a mil Glad you are enjoying your male free life Don't blame you
TFM - good luck with the bunion op. Think of all those lovely shoes you can wear soon
Baffy - how is ds doing? What does his big brother think of him?
Ginnny, LL, HW, MacD and anyone else I've missed........hope all is well with you.

ladylush · 17/09/2009 13:30

Dior - sorry.....how are you? See how forgetful I am

where is everyone?

ginnny · 22/09/2009 18:14

I'm still here - don't know where the others have gone
How's it going Lush?

Anniegetyourgun · 22/09/2009 22:57

waves

ginnny · 23/09/2009 11:17

Do you think they've all found somewhere more exciting to go?
It is getting a bit dull on here lately isn't it.

Tanee58 · 23/09/2009 14:30

I'm still here - I'm wondering whether we're generally not having problems - so not needing to post ATM? LL, glad to hear mini-Tbag is doing so well !

Things still in limbo with me - DP still being lovely but no nearer seeing the GP, DD still at my parents - my mum is driving her nuts! But I'm not kicking DP out for her, she won't come back while he's still here, so we're stuck! I'm avoiding my mum as she does nothing but make me feel like a Bad Mother and it's not helpful. In fact, this is all making me think quite hard about my relationship with my mother, and whilst she's not a toxic parent, she's not quite as sensitive to the issues going on, as she makes out.

Apart from that, am enjoying the rest from the day to day tension we had before!

ginnny · 24/09/2009 11:23

You could be right Tannee! I don't come on here to moan anymore, I just lurk about reading about other people's problems
Sorry things are still the same at your house and hope things get sorted out with dd soon.

ladylush · 24/09/2009 14:36

Tanee - glad dp is still being nice but it's a shame dd won't come home.
I'm ok. A bit under the weather with a sore throat though dh was pleased when I lost my voice dd is putting on weight nicely and is now 7lb 1oz. Her official due date was last wednesday so she's catching up. She has reflux so I am often decorated in vomit - particularly since I switched over from giving her expressed breast milk to breast feeding. Not so much a yummy mummy as a vommy mummy MacD - any tips? dd won't take gaviscon unless it's mixed with milk but now that I'm bf I can't do that.
How is Baffy?
Hope everyone else is ok.

HappyWoman · 24/09/2009 14:44

Still here and reading the posts.

Not a good time of year for me so making sure i keep as busy as possible.
Had lots of decorating done and now need to make the house mine again (but there is so much 'rubbish' to get rid of). Also hate the packing the summer stuff away.

Generally though things are ok here.

ladylush · 26/09/2009 09:41

Hi HW - Glad all is well with you

Had a scare yesterday with dd (see my thread in Health (children)re rescusitation). I had to give her mouth to mouth after she choked on some gripe water Thankfully she is ok. I am still shaken though.

Tanee58 · 26/09/2009 11:37

LL - that must have been so frightening! Glad she's ok now.

HW hi - hope you're enjoying making the house yours again. I'm slightly addicted to makeover programmes. It means I can avoid looking around my own mess of a home - piles of books everywhere! I'm thinking of putting myself forward for a Kim and Aggie treatment!

Ginnny, yes, I too look at other people's problems. Gives one a sense of perspective. But even if this thread goes quiet, I hope some of us will still be up for a meetup from time to time. I really enjoyed those.

ginnny · 27/09/2009 11:29

Crikey Lush - how scary. Hope you are Ok now.
Yes Tannee I agree we must definitely still meet up. Maybe do something before Christmas?

MyHeadIsSpinning · 27/09/2009 11:31

LL - just noticed your comment re DD vomit. Prem babies often tend to be sicky babies. DD was the same - often felt as tho she was constantly being sick :-( and quite a few episodes of projectile too.

I exclusively breastfed so Gaviscon wasn't an option. However one day (about 6mths in) I suddenly realised she wasn't as sicky as she had been then within a few weeks it had stopped completely.

I found the best thing was to not sit her up to quickly after a feed but also not to lie her down either!

Well done on the breastfeeding btw xx

Hi to everyone else :-) x

HappyWoman · 28/09/2009 07:17

yes would love another meet up - could combine with some xmas shopping (opps should i have mentioned that so early).

Tanee58 · 28/09/2009 14:30

HW - I would have thought you'd already done all your Christmas shopping!!

HappyWoman · 28/09/2009 14:38

We have 5 family birthdays before then.

Whatever makes you think I am organized??

ginnny · 28/09/2009 14:57

Oh God- don't mention Christmas shopping. I don't want to think about that till at least December 24th!!!

HappyWoman · 28/09/2009 16:58

I know what you mean Ginnny. Its going to be an expensive one this year - DS will have just turned 17 and wanting driving lessons at the very least .
Am hoping i can ask him for a lift in the new though .

Ooops seen to have mentioned new year too now.

Tanee58 · 28/09/2009 17:19

HW - ! Well, I have bought my first presents - books from charity shops! Mean? Me?? Goodness, hope DD doesn't ask me for driving lessons. Can't believe how expensive they are!

ginnny · 29/09/2009 11:07

HW - you'll be planning next year's holiday next!!!
I'm trying to forget about it as long as possible this year as I just can't afford any of it - might be trawling the charity shops like you Tannee or making my own pressies!
