And also shagging someone else's man isn't technically a crime, while hitting someone is. Annoying but true.

samestuffdifferentday · 16/03/2009 00:18

Well it really should be the reverse!!

Desiderata · 16/03/2009 00:18

Ah! But is taking cold revenge moral?

I would argue that calculated revenge is far more immoral than a tasty little slap on the cheek when the mood takes

Avengers are the sort of people who hire assassins rather than get their own hands dirty!

Very snowy, very poor, and rather charming!

I slept like a log all week, ate loads of food, and now feel perfectly chilled

but surely the point is why should the ow get away with wrecking a marriage?,the wife goes though hell, the husband will be lucky to survive with his nackers intact, he kids would be distraught not knowing why mummy and daddy are fighting, and the ow toddles off on to her next target (or if your unlucky turns stalker, and wont go back to wherever she sprung from).a good slap might stop her from destroying another family!....i know it takes two to tango and all that, but shagging is a two person activity and if it aint offered up on a plate, the men are less likely to stray(week gits).

muffle · 16/03/2009 00:29

Well desi it wouldn't be moral if it was an evilly plotted cold revenge where you did something to hurt the OW. I just mean letting things run their course and letting her get her comeuppance on her own.

samestuffdifferentday · 16/03/2009 00:30

So I guess sneaking into her house and replacing her hair conditioner with Veet would be out?

drlove8 · 16/03/2009 00:39

lol @ the veet. strange thing is , the few OW ive came across(mates marrage wrecker, ans a strumpet i worked with),have had a strangely inverted opinion of how attractive they are.both thought they were raving beauties, when in fact, they are a pair of howlers!!!!!

lilacclaire · 16/03/2009 00:40

Good for you!

use this the next time

Desiderata · 16/03/2009 00:43

Oh, they had one of those guns in Bulgaria, Kerry! Right in the middle of a childrens' play area

Don't you just love Communists?

muffle, the problem with that scenario is that you might miss it. And that would be too awful

She's 25. Another 15 years will put pay to it in any event. I vote for the slap and the wine now.

And Veet? That's inspired !!!! The smell gives it away, though.

samestuffdifferentday · 16/03/2009 00:45

No, no, there's lemon scented Veet now!!

Desiderata · 16/03/2009 00:47

Now that's interesting, drlove.

I have a friend I've known since five, who's an absolute howler herself. And yet, she can get any man she wants with the click of a finger. She's a marriage wrecker, for sure.

About 25 years ago, I asked my best friend's brother what the attraction was.

He said that, from a male perspective, you look into her eyes, and you know she'll shag you for sure.

It was hard to overlook the moustache, he said, but quite manageable

samestuffdifferentday · 16/03/2009 00:49

...proving that a stiff prick really has no conscience

Desiderata · 16/03/2009 00:52

None whatsoever, SSdd.

I don't think many guys care what it looks like, so long as it's available.

HolyGuacamole · 16/03/2009 00:52

It is the person in the marriage who is a marriage wrecker, not the person who is on the outside/the OW. The OW has allegiance to no one, whereas the husband has an allegiance to his wife. If he doesn't have the balls to say no, then what does that say about him? Saying that he is weak is just an excuse.

Yes, the OW has to take part of the blame, but, it is the partner of the cheated person who is responsible. If the OW has been stalkerish, that is his fault, maybe her and the OP are feeling similar wrath, due to the actions of a selfish man, both women acting in a way they never thought they would be? I can understand feeling extreme anger at OW but acting on it is so wrong on so many levels.

He should feel ashamed of himself for acting in a way that eventually resulted in his wife slapping someone in a pub. I don't believe we have the right to go around teaching 'slags' (not my word by the way) a lesson. The DH could have taught her a lesson by simply saying 'no thanks'.

Desiderata · 16/03/2009 01:01

Ah! There's nothing like a bit of sanctimony of a Monday morning!

You are wrong about the OW. She has an allegience to the human race.

We all do.

drlove8 · 16/03/2009 01:09

hollyg , i agreee that yhe dh should have said no thanks, but not that he's responsible for the OW turning stalker.its her. if the ow had any decency she should have ran for the hills as soon as she found out man was married.he should be ashamed, and and not have been so selfish i agree, and sadly most men are the instigators of affairs.at best this means OW are stupid (as in lacking the sense not to go there) or just down right selfish twats themselves!

drlove8 · 16/03/2009 01:17

i think women in general get angry at OW because its a disloyalty to our sex. men club together , but women (some ,not all) view other women as competition and "stab each other in the back" so to speak.why cause another woman heartache?... dont we all have a tough enough time already without chasing after other peoples partners/husbands....it re-enforces that "the sisterhood of women" is just a myth.

Desiderata · 16/03/2009 01:17

As I say, age will curtail her habits in any event.

At 25, had I wanted to be an OW, I reckon I could have been pretty successful with 80% of the male population.

That's an observation, btw, not a proven fact.

Had I have gone down that road, I would have deserved, and taken, a slap.

There are times in life when the lessons that need to be learned should be short and sharp.

drlove8 · 16/03/2009 01:19

well said desiderata!
