8000 posts - how do we find so much to talk about

OP posts:
Dior · 14/01/2009 19:51

You're all mad and sad

I reversed my car into a friend's house wall today . H took it remarkably well. I have PMT and it makes me really wobbly and clumsy.

Lilyloo · 14/01/2009 20:04

evening all

LOL at all the cleaning talk!!

I am so far behing have been without dp car for nearly two weeks so i have been doin lot's of walking and getting bus to do school runs!

Got it back today and out of pocket £900 Think it only worth double that!!

Am thoroughly fed up we just seem to hit a brick wall every time we try to get our head above water !!

LL sorry the scan taking so long but hope that the outcome is a positive one for you , it must be very hard!

Dior at the car are you ok ?

TimeForMe · 14/01/2009 20:18

DIOR! Now if you had stayed home to clean the oven that would not have happened!! Glad DP took it well. I know what you mean about PMT related clumsines. I scraped a road sign a couple of months ago, one at the side of a hole I might add, not one on a pole It put a lovely scratch around the wheel arch but I didn't bother owning up to it, I couldn't face the disapproving look. I keep covering it in muck, well what the eye doesn't see the heart can't grieve about

Lily, that's a lot of money for your car! Gosh! It might have been cheaper if you HAD hit a brick wall, it would have wrote the car off and you could have got a new one with your insurance payout

Lilyloo · 14/01/2009 20:34

TFM believe me i wish i had thought of that!!!!!!!!!!

Dior · 15/01/2009 09:15

Lloo - £900 . Bloody cars hey!

Yes, TFM, believe me, I have done all the 'if only' scenarios in my head - strangely enough, cleaning the oven didn't come up!

Yes, I am fine. IT was not a high speed collision. The car needs a fair bit of work but is covered by the insurance. We are going to pay to have reversing sensors put in at the same time. H worked out that it is the 6th time I have caused damage to the bumper! I was at him remembering them all and bringing them up, but he had had a bad day so I let him off...this time.

HappyWoman · 15/01/2009 09:25

glad you are ok doir - i am the queen of hitting things in the car - thankfully never had a 'real' accident and never involved anyone else - just me being silly. The reversing senses are good - but if you are that near to the wall you will probably wonder what that high pictched noise is just before the 'bang' - which is what i did at first. Bit odd your h remembering all the times you have done damage. My h lost count and now we just laugh about it.

We are down to one car at the moment - still looking for another big one for us all. And h wants me to hurry up and finding one as i am in his pecious merc and with my track record even the front and rear sensors are not much use .

TimeForMe · 15/01/2009 09:25

Dior, you reply should have been "well that's what bumpers are for! And that is 6 times they have done the job they were designed for!"

TimeForMe · 15/01/2009 11:50

So where are you all? Cleaning your ovens? Ironing your bedding? Crashing your car's?

Dior · 15/01/2009 12:27

Ahem...

I have been to WW. Lost 2.5lbs but it was probably not wearing jeans or having breakfast that did it!

TimeForMe · 15/01/2009 13:05

Well done Dior!!

Lilyloo · 15/01/2009 13:30

Well done Dior!

On another positive note i just got my maths gcse result back and passed with a 'c' so can do my teacher training now

Am so as i honestly thought i had discalculus , i am pants at maths so just shows!

TimeForMe · 15/01/2009 14:06

Well Done Lily!! Congratulations!
Now, what have I achieved today? Well, i have managed to polish off a family bar of Cadburys Milk Chocolate all by myself and I'm supposed to be getting healthy!! This is what happens when the oven is already clean!

HappyWoman · 15/01/2009 16:24

well done dior - i didnt go yesterday as i went on a walk instead.

Have just downloaded a slimming hypnosis track onto my ipod - already listened to it and now got a splitting headache. Oviously my brain finds it hard to 'think' slim that much.

Done no cleaning whatsoever today - but have been at work so got a bit of an excuse.
Will have to eventually put clothes away - i am going for omitting the middle bit - i wash them - kids get them from clean pile and then they go back into wash bin again, wardrobes redundant.

Dior · 15/01/2009 16:24

LilyLoo - fab news!

Fubsy · 15/01/2009 17:12

Well done Lily, - Ive suspected that about myself, my brain turns to mush and starts to go "la la la" if I have to work out numbers in my head!

Dior, glad you and the car are OK! I definitley feel more clumsy in the second half of my cycle, I drop things all the time!

And after reading about you all getting all Kim and Aggie with the ovens, Im starting to wonder if getting an oven cleaner in might actually be an investment......

Dior · 15/01/2009 22:22

'Getting an oven cleaner in' sounds good. Can he look like Keanu Reeves please?

WilyWombat · 16/01/2009 11:25

Come on you know your oven cleaner is more likely to look like Vic Reeves than Keanu

Dior · 16/01/2009 13:53

Bum!

ladylush · 16/01/2009 17:16

The guy who cleans my oven is not a stunner but is very friendly. He likes a good chat whilst he labours away Nice to see a man working hard in the kitchen It costs about £50 but well worth it imo.

Dior - sorry about your car crash but at least you are ok. The car is less important! I also find my driving is worse before my period and whilst pregnant. Hormones eh. Glad the insurance will cover it

Lilyloo - sorry your car has cost you so much money. Gutting to fork out that much on a car that isn't worth much more. Just what you didn't need after Christmas

Hi everyone else Have a great weekend.

eandz · 16/01/2009 17:26

i always see this thread, but never understand what it's about....is this where i can come and talk about things i'm not so sure about without having to post a whole thread?

ladylush · 16/01/2009 17:31

Erm not exactly.............it's for those of us who have had relationship issues. It's just that we end up talking about all sorts from moon cups to ovens

ginnny · 16/01/2009 17:59

lol eandz - I can see how you would think that as our conversations are really quite random at times.
About 2 years ago we were all having problems with our relationships and all ended up on each others threads, which got confusing so we decided to merge them all into one FAB & GLAM thread (can't remember where the name came from - something about us all getting a bus and running away from it all and calling it the fab & glam tour!)
Now most of the relationship issues are either better or resolved so we just dribble on about all sorts of rubbish interesting things

OP posts:
ladylush · 16/01/2009 18:27

Though we do reserve the right to moan about our dh/dp whenever we feel like it

Dior · 16/01/2009 18:32

Oh yes, the right is totally reserved

macdoodle · 16/01/2009 18:39

and some of us lurk cringing in terror at talk of moon cups and cleaning ovens
hi gals - I have a week planned next week with NM and in a tizz of excitement, nerves, second thoughts, and bizarrely worried about H finding out !!!
Dior the only time I ever crashed my car was when I was pregnant ......both times
LL have everything crossed for your scan please let us know !!
