My partner wants to know about my sexual past and everyone I have slept with, is this normal ? He wants to know details of people I slept with 27 years ago

OP posts:
Shloopie · Yesterday 21:06

Ugh, get rid now. He'll be the sort to obsess over someone you had a fling with 15 years ago. Yuck.

SometimesTheIntrusiveThoughtsWin · Yesterday 21:07

No not even vaguely normal.

Cardhey · Yesterday 21:08

Not normal. Get rid now!

ilikeeggs · Yesterday 21:08

No not normal, at least not amongst decent well adjusted people. What’s it got to do with him?

grinandslothit · Yesterday 21:08

Not normal at all. Get rid

BitOutOfPractice · Yesterday 21:08

This is a massive massive red flag that he’s a controlling, insecure, arsehole.

Ihaveneedofwaternear · Yesterday 21:09

Have you asked him why it's so important for him to know? I mean, I think it's massive red flag on its own, but if you're questioning if it's ok or not then ask him to articulate exactly why he needs to know. Hearing him spell it out will probably help you see clearly that he's gross, I'd imagine.

Arlanymor · Yesterday 21:09

It's controlling behaviour. In the bin with him.

raisinglittlepeople12 · Yesterday 21:09

This is a very clear red flag for abusive, controlling behaviour. If you continue the relationship it will become abusive.

momager22 · Yesterday 21:10

Nooo this smacks of controlling and abusive behaviour. And what if he doesn’t like the answer - what then?
Throw him back op, he sounds like a psycho.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · Yesterday 21:10

He's asking for information he'll probably end up using against you, Bin.

Sunshineynight · Yesterday 21:10

Trust me, he will just use it against you. There’s something off here for sure. Do you not feel it yourself? Surely it’s better to be with somebody that you’re moving forward into the future with not somebody who’s going to obsess over things that are none of their business. This man is asking you to violate a boundary and I can guarantee you he will not use the information to do anything other than harm you. I think he’s setting you up for emotional abuse.

Giggorata · Yesterday 21:11

Absolutely unacceptable attitude, your past is yours, not his to pick through. Ugh.

gamerchick · Yesterday 21:11

Why?

Tell him it's none of his business and if he can't deal with that then the doors over there.

Tbh there will be other things that he's controlling about. It never stops there.

exexpat · Yesterday 21:11

Is he phrasing it as wanting to know your 'bodycount'? That would be a major red flag that he has been watching/listening to lots of misogynist bollocks online.

Don't tell him, and if he kicks off, dump him.

UninitendedShark · Yesterday 21:11

What a massive red flag 🚩

Minasama · Yesterday 21:11

That’s bizarre. I don’t think there’s any need to go into this in any depth.

AnneLovesGilbert · Yesterday 21:12

Gross. What’s he going to do with the information? Get off on it or shame you? Neither is healthy or okay. Please LTB.

2026dreams · Yesterday 21:13

He wants to know my body count and sexual history

OP posts:
Pallisers · Yesterday 21:13

Big red flag. Just get rid of him.

MadellineBellPictureMeGoneNS · Yesterday 21:13

No good can come of this
He will judge you
Best bit..it's got the sum of fuck all
To do with him.
Get rid ASAP.

Sunshineynight · Yesterday 21:14

100% of people responding so far are saying this is an absolute no. So what are you thinking now that you have had the feedback? I’m curious.

MagicUser1 · Yesterday 21:14

I don't get anyone wanting tmore than the broadest brush strokes, at most.

This is weird. and 27 years ago? I have a relatively small count but even I can't remember the details of my body count from 27 years ago.

LatteLady · Yesterday 21:14

Walk away, whatever and with whomever you have done stuff with before is not his business. You start each relationship with a blank slate, if not you will drive yourself mad. The world has changed so much since I grew up, you are not a virgin on your wedding night in most cases... do you want to know who he has or has not slept with, no because you are sensible and have made peace with the fact that he had a life without you. If he is not mature enough to realise that, then he is not mature enough to date you. Bin!

BobMumBobIsMyDog · Yesterday 21:15

DH of over thirty years has never asked about my sexual past. Your BF is a walking red flag.
