It’s also happening to my girlfriends who are dating and there are countless Instagram memes (liked by tends of thousands of women) so it’s a thing. I don’t understand these men.

I don't even get to the point of them falling in love with me! 🤣 I've had 14 first dates in the last few months, and only one second date. And I can't count the number of people I've matched with/chatted to even to get those 14 first dates.

I'm finally lining up date three with a man who does seem great (intelligent, respectful, fun to chat to, same political views as me....) so it's depressing to hear that the odds are that we have 6-9 months at most..... 🤦

The one relationship I have actually found on OLD in the past did last 5 years, and I would say broke up due to genuine incompatibility on both sides rather than inherent knobbishness on his (if you see what I mean).

But that was quite a few years ago now, and it certainly does seem like the dating landscape is getting worse and worse......

Do you think that guys become addicted to the whole game-like nature of OLD? (The excitement of likes, matches etc) and the illusion it gives of others' availability, so they are no longer willing to put in the actual effort it takes to maintain a relationship beyond the honeymoon period of endless shagging and stubble-rash? Because I suppose 6-9 months is when it's getting more time to meet each others' mothers and so on - the less fun but very important bits of intertwining actual adult lives......

Mr Golf and I met on Saturday and had a lovely walk by the beach. I wasn’t too sure if I was totally attracted to him. We decided to meet again today and spent the afternoon wandering through town and the attraction was there! I’m seeing him again this week. So far so good 😊

@Ilovelurchers don’t give up! I met Mr OS 16 months ago and still going strong. I hope Mr Cricket continues with his positive ways and kissing becomes more sensual….. Good to hear your therapist helped over the weekend and can help you see your ex not through any rose coloured spectacles (although great you have such a supportive co-parenting relationship).

I’ve just realised I’ve handed out lots of 💐💐💐- I want to when stuff happens but I’m sorry it has with the last few posters on the thread now.

Hope we get some better stories soon and everyone picks up. I find it a hard time of year with the dark increasing and more rain and I can’t be assed to do much. I don’t get actual SAD or even sad really - just ‘meh’. But spring will return I guess.

We are the prize ladies and until we get the deserving guy let’s do good things for ouselves.

Ah, thank you my love. Definitely a wobble I wasn’t expecting especially because I have a date lined up with Mr Bright on Friday. He’s suggested where and when and everything is all sorted, and we’ve still been exchanging messages. But definitely feeling a lot brighter today 🤍
