Has anyone done a couples photoshoot, been with my partner a little while now and hes asked about a boudoir style shoot together to spuce things up a bit as lets face it things do settle down after the initial excitement of a new relationship. Im a little bit nervous but also curious

No. They’re so naf, along the lines of the white background high street family pictures for the early 2000s

OMGDidYouSayThat · 30/07/2026 23:55

Never even given it a thought but if you’re both curious why not give it a go, what have you got to lose.

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:08

My fella was thinking more boudoir style with full makeover

How utterly revolting 🤮

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:09

Thats what my fella said, i was just a bit nervous at the start but now starting go think about it more

with full makeover

Bit insulting, no?

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:10

Why revolting that sounds a bit harsh

No. If you cant find the intimacy in a private space how TF do you find it in a dtrange studio with a stranger pointing a camera at you

BeSharpHelper · 31/07/2026 00:12

I can’t think of anything worse personally, but if you think some soft lighting, filters and artfully draped scarves will put some spark back then knock yourself out. Or are you talking about stocks and gimp masks ? I think that would be less cringey tbh.

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:13

The places my fella has picked out look really nice, comfortable, plenty of good reviews. Only 1 photographer is in there with you

How in God’s name can heavily filtered photos ‘spruce’ anything up?

Reminds me of the 90s Cover Girl photos where the women were mostly unidentifiable by the time they’d finished with makeup and filtering?

SarahAndQuack · 31/07/2026 00:15

Bleugh.

I absolutely get doing photographs if you are happy, if that does it for you. But if your relationship has already gone stale, I doubt this would help.

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:15

I dont think a gimp mask would do it for me, i would be thinking more along lingerie maybe my fella is quite open minded he wont care

so will you be sitting astride a motorbike? In A field full of flowers ? Bent over a mahogany desk with your eyes half closed draped in velvet ? A log fire and a big fur rug ? Can your man look sultry ? Can ANY man? How do you actually envision this!

OMGDidYouSayThat · 31/07/2026 00:18

How long have you been together and why do you feel like sprucing is required?

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:18

Was his idea not mine, i was lije no at first but ive been looking at various sites and now more than curious

You're referring to him as your fella. Does he call you his missus? The whole concept seems off!

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:20

A few years now, we went to a couples resort recently, did a kinda photoshoot thing there

Let’s face it, most relationships do maintain attraction and excitement. I’m sorry yours hasn’t. If that’s something you feel you need to do to keep things interesting, I would question the relationship as a whole. If you both want to have some photos taken of yourselves posing, then crack on - but I doubt it will spice anything up, but definitely something to show your friends and neighbours, have you thought of getting a projector to properly appreciate the slide show?

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:27

Omg what my fella wanted i would not be showing the neighbours thats for certain

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:32

From what ive seen they all have diffefent sets but there are options of hotels and apartments to do the photoshoot in, im thinking maybe hotel may be better

Gladitsraining · 31/07/2026 00:36

Why on earth would anyone want to do this?
I would really wonder about any guy who suggested this.

Beachlover1993 · 31/07/2026 00:38

Our last holiday we hsd the offer of a shoot on the beach worked really well, now thinking of a couple shoot

I’d save your money and go for a couples spa weekend instead. lovely hotel, couples massages, dress up for romantic dinner in the evening… if that doesn’t smooth the way for intimacy then maybe the relationship has run it’s course.
