Interesting he found you on Insta. He's obviously gone through every other avenue to track you down. Pathetic!!
Keep your chin up @PithyBeaker this will pass and you will wake up one day and realise you haven't thought about it for weeks.

Oh they will trawl around everywhere. LinkedIn, old Twitter accounts, old email accounts from 15 years ago.

The last message I got from my ex was about 6 years after we split up. I never blocked him (because I still wasn’t over him) and I replied (because I still wasn’t over him) and he didn’t answer. I think that was the point I decided I had to let go and move on, when I realised it was some kind of game to him. Just making sure I was still on the hook. God, what a mess. Anyway, thankfully, it was quicker and easier to move on and get over it by that point. I think just because I was genuinely ready to let go.

When I was in the thick of it, I cried every time I was alone for… 3 months I think. Then gradually the days I cried were less and the days I didn’t think about it were more.

Lost this thread for months and came upon it today.
He truly is the dregs.
Pithy, you are such a nice woman, sadly FAR TOO NICE.

It strikes me reading your posts that your son never missed him.
Children are wonderful judges of decency.

He always knew he was not good enough for you.
Trust your son.
Stay well.
