Asking a tradesman out after doing job

userhelp · 24/09/2024 13:54

Had a tradesman around to do a job, got on well lots of chatting about ourselves, life's etc definitely a bit of flirting, he even made a comment about taking me out at weekend which I kind of pretend I didn't hear as was embarrassed

Would it be cringe of me to text asking for a drink? I mean I figure I haven't ever got to see again if they say no 🤷‍♀️

We're both in your early 40's and single

What's the worse that could happen?

Go for it - I know I have been too shy to ask a woman out sometimes as don't want it to look weird but I guess in the past we wouldn't have thought anything of it.

offyoujollywelltrot · 24/09/2024 14:08

Make sure you tell someone his full name and details (including address) because if this goes downhill, he already knows where you live and probably has your number.

itsgoingtobeabumpyride · 24/09/2024 14:08

Absolutely go for it, I need a happy ending ❤️
What's the worst that could happen, he'll say no but you're never going to see him again anyway.
Or he'll say yes and it could be the start of something wonderful 😊

Go go go!
Does the business has a Trustpilot page?

You might be leaving a 5 star review very soon!😆😁

Ximi · 24/09/2024 17:25

Go for it! Good luck 🤞

smallsilvercloud · 24/09/2024 17:49

Yes do it!

Waterboatlass · 24/09/2024 17:53

Go for it!

Aquamarine1029 · 24/09/2024 17:55

Definitely ask him. Why wouldn't you? Life is short and the worst he can say is no.

FatLarrysBanned · 24/09/2024 17:59

Worked for me. 4 years on we are still both like giddy teenagers and head over heels in love despite being well over 40! I did pay him for the initial job, but all subsequent work has been free 😂

IfYouLook · 24/09/2024 18:00

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 24/09/2024 18:00

Yeah this is the only downside.

Tradesmen see lots of single women. But just keep your eyes open is all.

Guavafish1 · 24/09/2024 18:04

yes …

thou I suspect he flirts with lots of his customers

Ethylred · 24/09/2024 18:10

Do it. And, for extra filth, keep paying him.

itsybitsyteenytot · 24/09/2024 18:16

Do it! This is how my parents met over 40 years ago!

CoralReader · 24/09/2024 18:24

You only live once

userhelp · 24/09/2024 18:56

Ok I'm doing it, like you say if he says no I won't have to see him again.

Now do I text tonight or leave it until tomorrow mid morning (just so I don't look to eager 🤣)

When did he make the comment about asking you out for the weekend?
on the one hand I’d say not to be so keen and ask on the same day but on the other hand what’s the point in playing games - if you’re interested, just ask!

Duckingella · 24/09/2024 19:06

Both single and a half joking comment about taking you out?;sounds like your both interested;life's too short-go for it.

Please give us an update though because we're nosy and like a story with a good ending.

glassof · 24/09/2024 19:07

Do it now!! I also married the tradesman that did some work on my house!! But I did know him as a teen, didn't know it was him when I booked the work!

MissConductUS · 24/09/2024 19:13

I asked a bloke out once.

We've been happily married for 27 years and have two lovely adult children.

She who dares, wins.

Go for it- absolutely nothing to lose!!

Yeeeears ago after the sale of my car had gone through and Id driven off with it, I emailed the salesman thanking him for his great service and asked if he fancied a drink. He said yes and we had a brief fling. I felt so empowered as well!
