Asking a tradesman out after doing job

userhelp · 24/09/2024 13:54

Had a tradesman around to do a job, got on well lots of chatting about ourselves, life's etc definitely a bit of flirting, he even made a comment about taking me out at weekend which I kind of pretend I didn't hear as was embarrassed

Would it be cringe of me to text asking for a drink? I mean I figure I haven't ever got to see again if they say no 🤷‍♀️

We're both in your early 40's and single

You’ve seen Motherland, right?

Be careful as this is one step down from a cheeky window cleaner. He is probably well aware that you enjoyed. His company. If you phoned him to get the job done then he already has your number. If I was you I WOUKD NOT EXPRESS AN INTEREST rather message him to thank him for a good job done . These workmen are well aware of lonely customers and DELIVERATELY FLIRT WITH PLEENTY BANTER to get more jobs. Don't approach directly as it tantamount to desperation. Sorry to be blunt. Don't shoot me.

Don't be boring. People have to meet somehow no?
If it's online they are all married men just looking for a reason to cheat...if it's like this it's cause 'they know your desperate and they do it to all customers'.

Stay safe and stay rational but most importantly have fun.

Ahh this post has made me so happy❤️ please keep this thread updated

Thirstysue · 28/09/2024 22:00

Crack on and ask him. Nothing to lose.
I asked mine 12 years ago, and we've been married for 11!

Awww I love threads like this. So much hope and excitement.
I have a gorgeous plumber but he's probably half my age and I like being single. I love it when my pipes needs fettling though and he's here within an hour of my call.

I’m dating my builder and I must say there are many unexpected benefits of dating a capable man who’s good with his hands. Those little jobs around the house are getting done, too…

😁was coming here (ahem) to say this!

Nothing like a competent, dexterous, practical type with lovely strong hands…

tiredwoman123 · 29/09/2024 11:09

yesssss get in there OP!

Love it. What are you going to wear!? It looks a bit gloomy.

Mumof3confused · 29/09/2024 16:50

Still hoping for an update…

EveryOtherNameTaken · 29/09/2024 18:01

This is true when dating a builder. Once you marry them every job in the house take around 6-9 months to complete.

OverthinkingOlive · 29/09/2024 20:18

Please update! I'm invested!

Ethylred · 30/09/2024 06:52

OP are you still on your date??

userhelp · 30/09/2024 07:12

UPDATE... sorry I didn't get time to check in before hand with outfit update etc as weekend was pretty full on and just didn't get the time.

So in the end I went for blue jeans, khaki green shirt I picked up in Zara a few weeks back and some tan cowboy style ankle boots...

The date was actually really nice, we had a few drinks, food, lots of laughing and joking and definitely flirting, little kiss at the end

We are going to arrange another
