@newdater32 was nice meeting you, sorry no chemistry, good luck. I'd close the door if there's no chemistry, otherwise he might take there is a chance later on. And then when he's seen the message, block/ unmatch.

On Bumble I can’t work out how to message - profile images are blurred out?

Hinge option - 10 years younger than me, lives on another city. Hot, though…!

You have to match before you can message. You can’t see who has liked you unless you match

librauk · 27/06/2024 19:49

@SamW98

Oh the hi viz selfie with the camera about 5 inches away from their face really highlighting the flabby pasty look 🤣

Spot on 😜😜

Welcome back 😊

On Bumble? How? I can how to match on Hinge but not Bumble

SamW98 · 27/06/2024 19:56

Click on this icon and you can set your age and distance (at top of page)

Then you swipe right/left and if there’s any match’s it tells you and moves them to the chats icon

I go to the chats bit but then it’s all greyed out? Like this

does this mean no-one I’ve swiped on has swiped on me? But the reverse is true? 😂

Wind out of sails if so!

SamW98 · 27/06/2024 20:07

Yes it means you have don’t have any matches yet. It takes a while sometimes just keep swiping right and someone will match before long.

FallenFigs · 27/06/2024 20:09

Might help if I actually wrote some words in my profile

Day99 · 27/06/2024 20:31

@FallenFigs tbh I think some men just look at the photos, so as long as you've got some photos there... (but to attract the right men - words may be useful!) 😂

FallenFigs · 27/06/2024 20:38

To be fair, the guy I had a fling with didn’t have any words beyond the mandatory tags (on Bumble). He just had a very nice face 😁

Pmsl - it’s tragic isn’t it?! I’ve spent ages trying to delete my match account to stop seeing this - it’s so difficult!!

Mckittens · 28/06/2024 07:30

@Chocolatefreak that's great re Mr Skipper!

Well I wish I had a positive update but the opposite, omg Mr Email, it was like being on a date with my dad. Absolutely not the one! And Mr TV has vanished.

I'm away for the weekend so thinking I will maybe either delete my profile and re do or at least take a break whilst I'm away.

Chocolatefreak · 28/06/2024 07:37

@Mckittens oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. How disappointing re Mr Email.

A break while you're away is probably a good idea. I feel the same. I have a date with a Professor tonight form Feeld, he can be just Prof 😂 and Mr Nature tomorrow.

Mr Smile seems to have disappeared.

Mckittens · 28/06/2024 08:00

Thanks @Chocolatefreak

It's actually weird because I wasn't disappointed or not hugely, more just relieved. I'm more annoyed with myself for having allowed myself to get into an endless messaging situation. Such a waste of time and energy.

Strangely I'm more disappointed that Mr TV has disappeared.

Mckittens · 28/06/2024 08:06

@Chocolatefreak hope your date with Mr Nature goes well, you definitely always seem to have plenty of options at least!

Chocolatefreak · 28/06/2024 10:37

@Mckittens you were probably relieved about Mr Email because you had a hunch about what he was really like.

I do have a few options at the moment but this is unusual. I've found that it helps with the disappointment if I've got back-up.

Mr Skipper is the nicest and I have to say most normal guy I've met on the apps for a while. He sent a sweet message yesterday telling me he was happy to have met a new friend and looked forward to getting to know me slowly. I feel reassured that the pressure's off with him.

Messaging with Prof is v entertaining though, must try not to get too carried away!

Bestlife18 · 28/06/2024 10:46

Sorry to hear that @Mckittens i totally get it and feel the same, just seems huge waste of time. The ones I was out with last weekend were so cringe. One of my colleagues said “why didn’t you just turn around and leave?” This was after I said I could see the one in the street and though urgh no!

date tomorrow lined up with the guy I first met 3 years ago. Had long phone call with him and the hot guy from school, he’s messaging all the time but is not progressing to a meet so that one might fizzle, depends on what happens tomorrow as well. Although, I’m doing things differently and not rushing to commit to anything, going to let it play out a bit. 😬

Tillievanilly · 28/06/2024 11:23

@Mckittens i went away recently and felt fed up with the whole apps thing. The last one I’d met was a bit of a nightmare. After a break I felt a bit better. I think I need to be in the right head space to deal with the apps. They are like another job! However Mr chill appeared when I returned to the apps and all has been good so far another date at the weekend…

SamW98 · 28/06/2024 19:31

Not that I expect anyone to be able to answer this but has anyone who’s been on and off the apps had the same man like them every single time but the times we’ve matched they never reply to messages?

Wtf is that about? I’ve had same guy like me on every bloody app and yet ghost me when I messaged him - and guess what? He’s just liked me again

Yes!!!! I've had this with a really FIT Australian guy!
We've matched three times, spoke three times for one evening... and then nothing.

I also seem to keep attracting a guy who keeps removing his proofs and resurfacing and liking me.... but nothing!!!! I don't get it!

katmunchkin · 28/06/2024 21:24

Just an update for those of you who remember my posts from 2 weeks ago. The guy I'd been seeing exclusively for 6 months who'd decided he needed time and space has officially ended it today, telling me that he didn't like my reaction to him needing time and space... we chatted it through for me to understand his position, and whilst I disagree with his reasoning, he's made it very clear (politely) that he's done. I genuinely don't recognise this new person, but I'm absolutely devastated, we were awesome together face to face. Polite goodbyes were said and I've deleted all his messages, his number, photos etc. Clearly wasn't meant to be!
