Been seeing this man for 2 months ish. We were meant to meet on Saturday at 7pm but I got a message (after I had spent two hours getting ready!!!) at 6 saying “hello, it’s one of my mates birthday tonight sorry I forgot, I will have to show up for a bit, but would be free around 11pm, idk how you feel about that”

I felt like he had a better offer (not the party) and just thought well okay. Went out with my friends instead. No intention of getting into an argument or discussion with the guy.

I have just got a message from him saying “you need to learnt to communicate better, you can’t just go silent when you don’t get what you want or what is offered is not good enough for you.”

ITS BEEN LESS THAN 2 days.

Was I wrong not to reply to his text? I think any rational person knows someone’s not going to meet them for a meal at 11?

How can Jim go through life without using punctuation?

Jimbolina · 07/06/2024 08:40

Is that the best argument you have, punctuation this is a media site not a job application form, jeez

Jimbolina · 07/06/2024 08:42

Oh do you punctuate when you speak? NO,point proven

Crumpetsssss · 07/06/2024 10:02

Which point do you think you’re making?

SamW98 · 07/06/2024 10:06

Yep Jim you’re correct there’s definitely no point proven

Keep taking those red pills mate 👍

Naran · 07/06/2024 10:35

Bin

He’s referred to you “not getting what you want”. As though there was some sort of disagreement.

When in fact, the situation was that he cancelled with an hour’s notice.

Was Jim speaking English? I missed that whole post.

Thelnebriati · 07/06/2024 12:09

PremiumListing imagine typing a paragraph as you think it straight out of your brain with no punctuation, spelling or spaces between the words.

It's for the best.

Jimbolina · 07/06/2024 18:21

No I cannot speak English to illiterates

Scirocco · 07/06/2024 18:55

I think your difficulties speaking English extend beyond the literacy skills of others.

Teacherprebaby · 07/06/2024 21:07

I would have been silly enough to give him another chance 10 years ago. Is he 22 years old? If not, he has no excuse telling a woman he asked on a date to meet at 11!! He thinks that behaviour is ok and that's the problem. The poster who said it's rude of you not to reply must let men walk all over her. The cheek of him to blame you for not replying! Tell this guy your standards immediately and if he doesn't like them, bye bye.

Teacherprebaby · 07/06/2024 21:09

Speaking and reading are two separate skills. In addition, I think you'll find we do punctuate when we speak....well most of us.

Teacherprebaby · 07/06/2024 21:21

Facebook 'have you dated this guy' page

It’s not easy to use punctuation when he’s typing one handed 🤣

Occam’s Razor springs to mind.

  1. who forgets a close friends birthday when organising a date?
  2. who realises an hour before said date that they have a party that starts in an hour?
  3. who thinks any person would sit around until 11pm until they are summoned for a shag 😂

could never be me, but maybe I’ll be the happily single spinster on this awfully high horse I live on

Exactly , only two months in and he’s setting you up for a post pub shag… absolutely no respect of course you didn’t want to see him at 11! That would be the behaviour of a doormat! Well done.

beatrix1234 · 11/08/2024 09:19

@Utopiana I have just got a message from him saying “you need to learnt to communicate better, you can’t just go silent when you don’t get what you want or what is offered is not good enough for you.”

I would have replied the following: “ You need to learn to plan your calendar properly as not to cancel on me last minute, I had other plans I had to put aside only to find myself stuck on a Saturday afternoon because of your poor planning skills. You also need to stop lecturing me on how to react when people leave me stranded last minute on a Saturday”.

Then you bin this one because his is very bad behaviour, I mean if he’s behaving like this Two months into dating when he’s supposed to be wooing you I don’t want to think what’s it’s going to be in a couple years or with a baby on tow. Absolute tosser.
