My husband shaved

My DH went on a work trip to somewhere quite hot. It got to around 25C so not unmanageable. I noticed on his return he had shaved down under. This is very unusual for him. When I asked him about it he said he did it because he was so hot and he gets sweaty. It didn't really sit well with me but I've never mentioned it again. He doesn't shave normally here in the summer. Am I thinking too much into this? Also when chatting about this trip on one occasion he became very flushed, red faced and very hot which has never happened before. I felt alarmed by this but have said nothing.

Yeah. Well dodgy.

DustyLee123 · 23/03/2024 09:44

I dont think you’re being unreasonable in your thoughts.

Daffodilsarentfluffy · 23/03/2024 09:44

Did he have any photos to share of his trip? Surely he took some? Bit odd if he didn't....

Yes he took lots of photos, he definitely went to where he was supposed to

Definitely dodgy as fuvk.

wombat1a · 23/03/2024 09:53

Have you considered humidity? 25C in someplaces is awful compared to 25C in others. We're in SE Asia and 18C here feels freezing compared to the UK, whereas 28C here with the humidity feels like being in a greenhouse. DH suffers badly with sweat down below over 25C and uses tons of talc to try to keep it under control. Places are AC'ed, all transport is AC'ed but getting to them involves alot of sweat.

I'd be suprised someone did that thou for just a trip - most people wouldn't even think of doing it - they would use talc.

DustyLee123 · 23/03/2024 09:56

Has he ever shaved down there before?

FatCatPyjamas · 23/03/2024 09:56

It sounds very dodgy.
The getting sweaty explanation doesn't make sense. From personal experience, having no hair around the genitals makes everything feel much sweatier. My dp and my dbro have said the same if you want a male opinion.

thirtythirty · 23/03/2024 10:02

He did go to the same place almost a year before, he didn't shave then.

A few others from his work went on both occasions. One is a female. I've never been bothered by this. He very rarely sees her as she works in an office 2 hours away. They have meetings on the computer and from what I hear it's all about work. On the most recent trip it was just him and the female colleague. The work they were supposed to do was cancelled very unexpectedly so they had both travelled a very long way for nothing. So they killed time together visiting different locations, some very secluded. I did feel a little strange about this but I don't think anything is going on between them. He did tell me she had recently broken up with her boyfriend. This did add a little fuel to me feeling uncomfortable.

Yeah I'd be concerned.

greasypolemonkeyman · 23/03/2024 10:16

I'd sit him down, completely straight faced and say " you have something you need to tell me about your trip. This is your only opportunity to tell me the truth " and then sit and maintain eye contact and remain silent until he speaks. It will either come out in full or you will see it play over his face and you will know.

This makes it sound very dodgy indeed.

Did work actually pay for this trip still?

thirtythirty · 23/03/2024 10:20

It's something that randomly pops into my head and I can't seem to 100% forget.

He works from home a lot, doesn't go out at night. He's very work focused. If something happened while he was away it's not physically going on day to day.

Do I approach him about this? Obviously he's going to deny it. It's hard to pop this into a conversation without causing major upset. I could be wrong about this.

Work definitely paid. He's way to tight to pay for himself to go to a place like that.

You can get a postal STI kit free from the NHS now, do one of them.

It sounds like he cheated on you on the trip sorry, despite it not going on now. Or maybe he thought about it and shaved in preparation and backed out. But the preparation for cheating means he wanted to do it

This. Trust your gut. If something feels off then it probably is.

thirtythirty · 23/03/2024 10:24

Is shaving something people do when they plan on cheating?

OP posts:
morbidd · 23/03/2024 10:25

Always trust your gut. If I was to approach someone about this sort of thing, I think I'd be looking to raise a few examples of concerns.

Otherwise, just bringing up the shaving I think he'd just bat that away with some excuse.

morbidd · 23/03/2024 10:26

100% yeah. Think of when you know you are going to sleep with someone for the first time. You're more self conscious about your appearance etc.

LlynTegid · 23/03/2024 10:27

I would be suspicious in your shoes.
