My husband shaved

My DH went on a work trip to somewhere quite hot. It got to around 25C so not unmanageable. I noticed on his return he had shaved down under. This is very unusual for him. When I asked him about it he said he did it because he was so hot and he gets sweaty. It didn't really sit well with me but I've never mentioned it again. He doesn't shave normally here in the summer. Am I thinking too much into this? Also when chatting about this trip on one occasion he became very flushed, red faced and very hot which has never happened before. I felt alarmed by this but have said nothing.

So your DH went on a work trip somewhere hot, arrived, the work got cancelled? And he and female colleague stayed overseas and acted like tourists? They got the original return flight rather than changing their flights?

This all sounds implausible as ime most employers would have their staff on the next flight back, not let them have a jolly on company time.

What country was it?

Tickets were rebooked, they only stayed there 3 nights instead of the 10 planned. Separate accommodation. It was New Zealand.

What @greasypolemonkeyman said.

43ontherocksporfavor · 23/03/2024 16:05

Ah I see he’s cheated before. Defo find out more.

WallaceinAnderland · 23/03/2024 16:06

So the one time he confessed to cheating, he devastated your world.

He's not going to make that mistake again is he.

Sorry OP, once a cheat, always a cheat.

ginasevern · 23/03/2024 16:06

Shaved pubes, new pants and flustered when you talk about the trip. Yep, he's either cheated with the work colleague (which is the most obvious). Otherwise he may have used a sex worker, met someone at a bar or been doing stuff online. Get yourself checked out OP.

On a side note, I've never had a sexual partner shave for me and I didn't even know it was a thing. Admittedly I was married for 26 years (now widowed) and before that I didn't exactly play the field. Bit of an eye opener!

43ontherocksporfavor · 23/03/2024 16:07

Also is she younger? He may have thought he needed to shave as it’s more expected in the younger(below 40s/50s) generations.

Callipygion · 23/03/2024 16:10

The shaving makes me think he caught crabs.

nextcrapthing · 23/03/2024 16:44

It’s unlikely to travel on a long haul flight( 24 hr) to go on private holiday with his mistress in NZ. It would be so much easier to choose somewhere closer in Europe.
The shaving and all new clothing are very suspicious. It may or may not be the female colleague you mentioned.

It sounds very dodgy.
The getting sweaty explanation doesn't make sense. From personal experience, having no hair around the genitals makes everything feel much sweatier. My dp and my dbro have said the same if you want a male opinion.

But, to be fair, you don't know that till you've tried, and given that OP's husband hadn't tried before he might well have thought it would help - especially if he went somewhere with humid heat.

Is shaving something people do when they plan on cheating?

Well, its fashionable to do so - so he wanted to impress her maybe?

Dollychopsporkchops · 23/03/2024 17:11

It’s very dodge op.

Id be watching him very closely and I’d confront him. He may lie but watch him closely. I’d be worried that he cheated or planned to cheat

Anonymous2025 · 23/03/2024 17:27

It’s dodgy ! What other colleges if any went with him ?

CoolShoeshine · 23/03/2024 17:40

has anything happened more recently which has started you worrying about this event from 5 months ago?

Chitterlina · 23/03/2024 17:54

Wondering when he found time to shave on a three night trip to NZ! Also top average temp for November looks to be around 19 degrees, so even if it was unseasonably 25 degrees I’m surprised in that very short timeframe he got so hot he was driven to shave the lot off 🤔

Something smells v dodgy here OP. I’d have to be calling it out if I were you.

I don't know but I think he shaved it off just before the trip. He went there 10 months before so was expecting it to be hot again.

That would be my question. It's really quite unusual for hetero men to shave and it feels like quite an odd thing to do if you were cheating.
However it does seem odd ! Especially if he's never done shaving before. So I wonder if she suggested it or there was some other reason for it eg he went to some kind of spa and they handed him the razor to shave or something. Yes am clutching at StrawS!

Hoplolly · 23/03/2024 18:00

It's not that weird to do some manscaping, plenty of men do it but it doesn't make them gay ConfusedGrin

It might mean they're cheating though if they don't do it normally. It's only the same as a woman tidying up her area.

Wastedagreatusername · 23/03/2024 18:10

I had no idea men did this.

I’ve never met a man who didn’t trim. The odd one took it all the way back 🤢 I don’t mind the trimming, a load of wispy old pubes are fairly rank.

Golly, I must be old.
I've never encountered a man who did this.

Mind you, it's been 26 years since I met my DH. Maybe it's something men do nowadays.

43ontherocksporfavor · 23/03/2024 18:37

Would hate DH to shave. He doesn’t like me to remove mine either. I did it once but grew it back. Tidying is one thing but last chicken in the shop is not a good look in my opinion and neither is stubble/rash.

AngelinaFibres · 23/03/2024 18:46

DrJoanAllenby · 23/03/2024 11:03

Why would it itch? I shave everything off my intimate parts and I don't have any itchiness.

Really. It drives me absolutely insane

Edited

I’m the opposite. I hate a full wiry bush on my husband, ditto candy floss armpits.

And I haven’t had pubes since 2010. Leg or armpit hair, even longer. 😂

43ontherocksporfavor · 23/03/2024 18:47

Each to their own! Good job DH and I agree.DH must be unusual as it’s not wiry at all. Soft.

Noseybookworm · 23/03/2024 18:58

Can you have a nosey at his phone? See if he's taken/sent dick pics? Don't men usually shave down there to make their dicks look bigger?
