Or put another way, how often do you cry as a result of an interaction with your partner?

OP posts:
Robotalkingrubbish · 06/11/2023 19:18

About once a year.

xyzandabc · 06/11/2023 19:18

Erm, twice in 26 years.

Pineapplepots · 06/11/2023 19:19

Probably about three times in the nearly 15 years together.

TedMullins · 06/11/2023 19:19

Erm, never?

dylanschicken · 06/11/2023 19:20

That's a really odd question, your partner is not supposed to make you cry. They are supposed to be in the same side as you Sad

Dacadactyl · 06/11/2023 19:20

It's never happened and we've been together 17 years.

SoRainbowRhythms · 06/11/2023 19:21

Never. Why would I be with someone who makes me cry?

BonjourCrisette · 06/11/2023 19:21

Once or twice in twenty years - on one of these occasions I was heavily pregnant and he ate something I wanted to eat and it was all gooooone....

TrumpetOfTheMatriarchy · 06/11/2023 19:21

Rarely, and if I'm honest stress and hormones are usually more to blame. He would not set out to hurt me or make me feel sad.

Choice4567 · 06/11/2023 19:21

Maybe twice in 8 years. Turns out both times it came down to a miscommunication and were easily resolved

MrTiddlesTheCat · 06/11/2023 19:21

Never

LongLiveGoblingKing · 06/11/2023 19:21

We've been together 11 years and I can only think of one instance. Please take notice of the posts here.

Yellowsubmarineunderthesea · 06/11/2023 19:22

Twice in 35 years

Jewelspun · 06/11/2023 19:22

Tears of joy? Yes a few times over sentimental and affectionate gestures.

Made me cry as in upset me or caused me distress? Never.

GreenCereal · 06/11/2023 19:22

Never, in 14 years.

FatFilledTrottyPuss · 06/11/2023 19:23

Eh? My husband can be a right knobber but he’s never made me cry in 24 years, If he did I’d seriously think about leaving him. If your other half is regularly making you cry there’s something badly wrong with your relationship.

EvenBetta · 06/11/2023 19:23

Why not just dump him? The sole reason to date/be married is that it’s meant to enhance your life and be fun.

pineapplepinecones · 06/11/2023 19:24

Yeah never - married 20 years

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/11/2023 19:24

Same

purplemunkey · 06/11/2023 19:24

I can’t remember the last time I cried because of an interaction with my partner. Maybe when our child was a baby and we’re were both sleep deprived and snappy? Together nearly 20 years.

If crying is a regular occurrence then something is very wrong.

Desecratedcoconut · 06/11/2023 19:25

Jesus, I have no idea, not in the last 15 years, maybe a few times before that. I've only once looked on rightmove for a flat for him, in my defense we were camping with toddlers.

EvenBetta · 06/11/2023 19:26

Like, if you’re at the stage of being reduced to tears by a man, ever, and are pondering if it’s normal, the relationship is dead.

Todaysproblem · 06/11/2023 19:27

Once every couple of years, I guess. Maybe less?

SnapdragonToadflax · 06/11/2023 19:27

Er... I think maybe twice in 18 years? Once when we first moved in together, once when we had a tiny baby and no sleep.

My ex made me cry with anger/frustration regularly, but he's very much an ex and it was a shit relationship.

ChickenJeffrey · 06/11/2023 19:28

Once in 20yrs, when I was severely depressed.

With my ex it was at least once a week.
