What does Lots of ducks to feed mean here???

I met a guy on online dating. He asked where I lived. I told him my whereabouts. He then responded saying 'lots of ducks to feed there.'
Does anyone knows what he means by this?

I think @LarkLane is right.

Iheartbobross · 04/09/2023 22:51

Yeah, beginning to think I'd just ask him outright - 😂 are you meaning real ducks or tossers?

Googled it as I'm intrigued now. Apparently it refers to casual hookups:

I'd also add that for me this would be a massive red flag as the way he said it implies he's got experience with this ergo may only be looking for sex. Those of us who aren't don't even have this phrase in our vocabulary.

cluelessbingo · 04/09/2023 23:00

Thank you @Katmai. I'll have to accept it means something else and follow the OP's suggestion suggesting I ask whether he meant real ducks or tossers. I might throw in a smiley face to indicate that I'm not judging whatever he's alluding to, although I intend to judge whatever this turns out to mean. Haha

I'll report back.

Sounds like something my husband would say.

He would mean actual ducks. He bloody loves them.

(No, we don’t feed them bread. We feed them actual duck food.)

This is 100 percent going to be one of those threads that people, trying to prove they are real, long term mumsnet users, will quote in their opening paragraph for years to come 🤣

ladygoingGaga · 04/09/2023 23:05

brilliant thread, cheered me up no end! Marking my spot opens the popcorn

QS90 · 04/09/2023 23:07

Maybe he is messaging more than one person, and has some sort of duck-based injoke with someone else, then got in a muddle?

What - is Aylesbury going to replace Maui?

Iheartbobross · 04/09/2023 23:09

No - Mothers pride up the old wazzoo for sure!

LarkLane · 04/09/2023 23:13

If he's not referring to politicans in Westminster ( and my money is on that)
Perhaps he is an Anatidaephiliac ?

Urban Dictionary: Anatidaephilia

An obsessive love of ducks.

@cluelessbingo ....liberal. So, sociopolitically aggrieved...."

Brilliant! I'm borrowing that pronto 😄

Reply with "And the odd goose!" Bamboozle him right back!

egowise · 04/09/2023 23:17

I'm going with the Westminster wanker comments!

This is brilliantly baffling.

The way he said it??

M: Whereabouts do you live?
OP: Westminster
M: Lots of ducks to feed there.

I see, this is dripping with sexual innuendo 😏 He's probably a rapist, they're always messaging women about ... feeding ducks. 😂

@cluelessbingo, I would have answered something like "There are ducks & swans in the parks, but I don't pay much attention."

And maybe "What did you mean?"

notacooldad · 04/09/2023 23:22

God he's quackers (yes, I'm well aware that was the oldest, most rubbish and predictable joke over 😂)
Yeah, but you were the first to say it so👏

OMG I haven’t considered this before. I never add my chuff carbs on MyFitnessPal and now I’m wondering if that’s why my weight loss has plateaued?

cluelessbingo · 04/09/2023 23:26

You're right @SisterMichaelsHabit
It's an uncommon idiomatic expression, and the fact that he uses it so naturally and casually is a red flag.

MerryMarigold · 04/09/2023 23:27

What kind of person was he OP? This is exactly the sort of unfiltered rubbish I would say if say, Westminster, prompted a memory of feeding the ducks or seeing a film set there where people were feeding ducks.

Was he a bit nervous? Was he very witty and likely to be making quite obscure comments about wankers in Westminster? Only you've met him. But I can totally see myself saying something like this and genuinely meaning it, just verbal diarrhea.

Ducks = women
Feed = sex

at a guess 🤷🏻‍♀️
