  1. The first rule about the dating thread is don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. Know your worth.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Treat others as you'd like to be treated 12. Any relationship you have that could get ruined by having a conversation about your feelings, standards and/or expectations wasn't really stable enough to begin with 13. The things you choose to ignore/ tolerate now are the reasons you will break up in the future

@bangheadhere40. Just block him in the app and his number. You are getting into harassment now if you’ve said leave you alone

SimonJT · 27/11/2019 17:44

@Marlboroandmalbec34 Yeah all okay, he’s in the states at the moment but flying out to Sweden tomorrow, or possibly tonight eastern time, not sure, but he’s back on Monday. MiniSJT has D&V which is fun.

Are you keeping well?

Marlboroandmalbec34 · 27/11/2019 18:16

Aw simon one of the mini Marlbs has just had it. Hope he has a speedy recovery. Glad all well your side!

Bloody hell my matches are all terrible! They all just want NSA. Surely there are men out there open to relationships? I am on OKC, tinder and Bumble and have one potential iron (Mr Foot) but the foot fetish does put me off 😂

MoreNiceCereal · 27/11/2019 18:25

How, erm, pronounced is it?

MoreNiceCereal · 27/11/2019 18:26

Like, are feet his only attraction? Is it one thing amongst many he enjoys about the female physique?

unambiguousbeard · 27/11/2019 18:47

Found you all. Thought it was a bit quiet.

I didn't go @TigerDater I met some friends. He sent me two more selfies before sleep. Not heard much today. We're supposed to meet for coffee tomorrow at 4. I'm not sure I want to but I probably will. I have to remind myself that I tried to push mr U away as I wasn't that interested. He messaged last night. Must be psychic. He was checking to see if I'm dating.

Marlboroandmalbec34 · 27/11/2019 19:15

morenice he does reflexology as a hobby and has admitted he loves women’s feet. I have awful feet and cannot bare them being touched 🤮. Other than that he seems quite nice so might go for a quick drink. He knows my feet feelings!

unambiguos not sure how it ended with Mr U. Is it good or bad that he got back in contact?

I hate men sending selfies. Really put me off

unambiguousbeard · 27/11/2019 19:26

Yeah I hate it. It's self obsessed and vain .

Mr U dumped me while crying and telling me he loved me. So him getting in touch doesn't really mean anything apart from it's nice to know he still thinks about me I guess. Maybe I'm reading too much into it

MoreNiceCereal · 27/11/2019 19:54

he does reflexology as a hobby and has admitted he loves women’s feet.

So he is involving women in his private fetish without their consent.

Hard pass from me, I'm afraid.

Wow that’s actually really creepy.

MoreNiceCereal · 27/11/2019 20:12

I was with a guy with a foot fetish for a while. It was intensely sexual for him, akin to breasts or vaginas. Not just "ooh pretty"

Hi guys,

Looking forward to following this thread and joining in. I came out of a very long term relationship (20 years🙄) which I had been in since I was 16 a few years ago.

Have been completely single for the last few years, started seeing someone a few weeks ago but he decided he wasn’t ready to be seeing someone due to messy divorce still ongoing🤷‍♀️Actually hurt a lot as we had such great chemistry and I really liked him but hey ho.

I’ve set up accounts on Bumble and Tinder, been chatting with a guy since yesterday who seems quite nice but no arrangements for a date yet.

Ant330 · 27/11/2019 20:21

Hi marlbs yes I'm very much smitten thank you. It was quite up and down for the 1st month or so after getting back together, but it seems to have progressed into something very good now.
Still early days of course, but we're off to Barcelona on Sat for 3 nights and both thoroughly looking forward to it.
Good luck with your foot bloke, who does he practice his hobby on out of interest?

Jane1978xx · 27/11/2019 20:21

And that’s totally fine and some men like hair or knees but you dont go into a hobby to touch them xx

MoreNiceCereal · 27/11/2019 20:32

Agreed, @Jane1978xx.

OP posts:
Marlboroandmalbec34 · 27/11/2019 20:58

I think he just does friends and family including blokes 🙈 He didn’t tell me it was a fetish but said it was a hobby then admitted he does like women’s feet and would love to give me a foot rub. It does keep coming up but he might be joking as he knows I hate feet! Oh I don’t know maybe I’m making too much of it? Or maybe he is a creep...I do seem to attract them!

Great news ant

Jane1978xx · 27/11/2019 21:17

Maybe meet him and see how it goes

Savoretti · 27/11/2019 21:54

Hi just checking in. Haven’t been on in a while, my Dad died last week and although he was elderly and it was expected it has knocked me a lot.
Still with Mr Tri who is stable, so damn patient and lovely. Always there when I need him, backs off when he knows I need to be with my family.
Kids met him early as a friend but we have finally admitted we are dating. Youngest not taken it too well so trying to play that down a bit.

Had a laugh today though when ex asked if he could bring his new partner to the funeral Shock
Kids haven’t met her, don’t know he is seeing anyone. How could meeting her at their grandfather’s funeral ever be appropriate?? Jeez some men......

Jane1978xx · 27/11/2019 21:58

Sorry for your loss and no that’s no ok unless by some chance she was a family friend before

Ginghampanther · 27/11/2019 22:05

@Savoretti I’m so sorry for your loss.

bangheadhere40 · 27/11/2019 22:06

Sorry sarovetti 😓

Ginghampanther · 27/11/2019 22:20

How do you get the balance right between being too invested and complete apathy?!

I was so excited for my first and only date, then he messaged afterwards to say I wasn’t right for him. Ok, I threw myself back in, had lots of good chats. I’m pretty time poor but I’ve arranged two potential coffee dates and I then cancelled them both due to work, I did hope to rearrange but they both drifted away (messages going down to short closed ones, you know?) Some other potentials who I was quite interested in have all disappeared, and the one I’ve been chatting to the longest went quiet last week, our date was due to be this week. I think we know one another’s life history by now, we’re even fb friends, but all of a sudden he said his life has got crazy busy and he can’t make it.

I had a look at my likes tonight but I can’t actually be bothered messaging any of them!

Maybe I’ll try again in the new year, I’ll just see what you are all up to until then for inspiration!

bangheadhere40 · 27/11/2019 22:25

I think we re read the rule that says it's all BS until it happens!

Jane1978xx · 27/11/2019 22:32

Yes and I think do it when you know you have time. I’m going on a date tomorrow and if that doesn’t work out I’m
Going to stop until new year

Khaleesii · 27/11/2019 22:50

I think it can get quite tiring. If you’re not feeling enthusiasm maybe take a break. A run of fizzling out takes the spark away I think.
