Dating thread 162: (Don't wanna be) All by myself...

The first rule about the dating thread is don't talk about it with people you're dating.

  1. Develop a thick skin.
  2. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  3. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  4. Trust your gut instinct.
  5. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  6. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you.
  7. If it's not fun, stop.
  8. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

And a reminder - you don't know them until you know them!

peanut you have every right to be raging!!! Hadn't yet commented but have been reading your updates the Mr U. I don't have any specific advice I'm afraid other than know your standards and boundaries and assert them - if he's not intentionally trying to out you off him then he's either not self aware, selfish or just a bit of a dick. Sure someone will come along with some better advice.Enjoy your g&t.

Bluezoo123 · 29/06/2019 20:54

Apologies for typos!

Peanuthedz · 29/06/2019 20:55

ESP as he's reliant on me to sort out a load of remaining admin. I think his thinking is I'm his girlfriend so I just take the rough with the smooth. But quite frankly after 4 months it's a bit early for this much patience.

Peanuthedz · 29/06/2019 20:58

Who knows @CocoKoko123 I know he really likes me. Could be self sabotage. Maybe he's a bell end. Maybe it's cultural differences. By midnight I'll have some idea.

CodLiverOil556 · 29/06/2019 21:14

@Peanuthedz I think 4 months is way too early for this sort of shit. He's being very selfish or very unaware. No wonder you're fuming I would be too. Whether it's because of lack of awareness or whatever he should still be on his best behaviour.

So MrTall has popped over to check on me and to bring more sweeties. He kissed me when he left and did that tuck my hair behind my ear thing...oooohhhh smitten bench here I come 😏 his eyes are things of beauty lovely brown that I could stare into all day long.

Bluezoo123 · 29/06/2019 21:50

Getting to the stage where I'm considering how best to introduce bf to the dc - should I introduce him just as a friend first etc etc (although they're not stupid!-don't want to put pressure on the situation-want a chilled out thing) also if/when I should mention about him to their dad (which I feel I should) any advice appreciated.

Also don't suppose anyone here has any experience of disputes regarding sale of property post split and would be happy to pm me?

Thanks in advance.

SimonJT · 29/06/2019 22:09

@Peanuthedz He’s behaving like a dickhead.

I had a really nice night with MrNoName last night, we were going to have a night out, but we decided to have a few drinks and stay in, so we played some xbox and then watched a bit of Glasto. I’m glad we did as it meant I didn’t have a sore head at softplay this morning. I’m off to Glasto tomorrow to see FWB, after that he is going to be demoted back to his position of BF for a while.

As my son did fairly well with the childminder I have booked the same one for this Thursday so I can see MrNoName. Thursdays are good as I don’t work Friday, so it doesn’t matter if MiniSimonJT and I slob in bed in the morning.

Sunshineandflipflops · 29/06/2019 22:11

Quick update...MrSAS has been here since 3pm. We've sat in the garden, had sex, had a bath together, a shower together, watched Glastonbury and now he's cooking a bbq.

Having a perfect day/night with lots of affection and hugs, which is just what I needed today.

Sorry @CocoKoko123 no experience of either of those. DDs know about Mr U as they found his photo on my phone and they also know exactly how Unsuitable he is. But I've told them they'll never meet him, he's for my time when I'm not with them. I've also hinted a lot that he's moving back to his country so that when it ends (quite possibly in about 20 mins) I have a get out without looking flakey for having a BF for a short time.

He messaged to say he's on his way. At 10. I nearly replied, what for a fuck and a bed? But I want to have this argument face to face. I honestly don't think he realises he's done anything wrong. If he apologises mightily I'll accept it but with very bad grace. If he's chippy then he can do one. Although it's been quite nice relaxing in my garden!

SimonJT · 29/06/2019 22:14

@Sunshineandflipflops Sounds lovely, much like mine yesterday, but minus the sex! Enjoy the BBQ, nice bottle to go with it?

Bluezoo123 · 29/06/2019 22:25

Thanks shit and peanut sounds like your plan re how you've handled Mr U with your dc sounds spot on for your situation - let us know how it goes.
My dc do know I have a 'friend' called .... as sometimes see his name flash up on my phone and my dm mentioned him in convo in front of the dc the other day.

Trouble is my large gin has calmed me down too much. Need to find my fury again

TooOldForThis67 · 29/06/2019 23:23

sunshine - that sounds perfect. Lucky you. coco - I can't remember how old your kids are, mine is 10, I tell him right from the start as a lot of my dates are here at home. Ex lives abroad. Just say you have a special friend who you like to spend time with. Mine isn't the slightest bit interested tho, part of his autism - only interested in what affects him.

Bluezoo123 · 29/06/2019 23:35

Hi too - hope all is going well with Mr Wow.mine are similar ages to yours-sure the youngest will be fine but the oldest i'm expecting be tricky.I'll mull things over thank you x

Marlboroandmalbec34 · 30/06/2019 08:04

Is there a new thread?

Sunshineandflipflops · 30/06/2019 08:09

I've stated the last two so I'll let someone else have the honour!
