Found my knickers in stepdaughter's drawer

So, our stepdaughter rarely puts clothes/undies in the wash. Common teenage habit perhaps. Today I'm at home tidying up and went into her drawers to hunt out dirty clothes. I found three pairs of my own g strings in there, all very visibly worn.
Do I say anything? Tell my partner?
V bizarre I know. I'm also now thinking I probably shouldn't have gone into her drawers in future...!

Do you mean your stepdaughter? How old is she? Mine know to put their clothes in their wash basket if they want them to be done, I'm not going round picking dirty clothes off the floor. If there's nothing in the basket it won't get washed and they won't have clean clothes, not complicated.

I'd take them back and ask where she got them from. Where did she get them from do you think?

Don't go in her drawers, that's a bit weird. Why would she have dirty clothes in drawers? Just be clear that if she needs stuff washed it goes in the appropriate place, depending on her age, so either a designated basket/hamper or straight in the machine.

How old is DSD? No you shouldn't be hunting through her draws. Leave a laundry basket in her room and tell her she needs to be putting dirty washing in there not hiding it away especially with clean clothes. She can help with laundry if she's old enough. Regarding the g string, sit down and have a chat with her. Tell her that underwear isn't really for sharing and check why she wanted them. Has she got a new partner and could do with some help to buy nice underwear of her own? Had she just been curious? Run out of clean clothes? Consider having a chat with my partner before but certainly tell him afterwards. I have a rule with DSS that he can talk to me about anything but I'll always tell his dad about important stuff.

She's 15. I went into her drawers because nothing had been washed for a week and we are aware she'd been wearing stuff and putting it back.
She had a whole range of expensive designer g strings bought for her at Xmas. We often talk to her about putting her things in the wash and she has a basket. The g strings were cheap, not special.

Obviously, your SD shouldn't be wearing your knickers but what would you be hoping to achieve if you said something? I'm not being snarky but I'm wondering what you would be hoping for.

I can't see a good outcome myself to raising this, particularly as she'll know and your DP will know that you've been through her drawers.

Skiddaddleeeeo · 23/01/2019 14:59

Yes my stepdaughter! She must've taken then from my underwear drawer

@MargoLovebutter you're right, it wouldn't achieve anything and cause a drama for something silly. Thank you. I just was a bit surprised

I would just speak to her on her own (as to not embarrass her maybe) and say you'd prefer if she made sure she didn't take any of your undies. It's lazy.

pinkyredrose · 23/01/2019 15:02

15 yrs old and you bought her designer g-strings? Hmm

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 23/01/2019 15:04

If she has been through your drawers of course you say something!! My dc aren't allowed into my bedroom without permission!

Ringdonna · 23/01/2019 15:05

Yuck

Drogosnextwife · 23/01/2019 15:05

Why on earth is a 15 year old girl sticking dirty knickers back in the drawer?

gamerchick · 23/01/2019 15:09

I'd be telling her to keep off my knickers. She needs bloody embarrassing Hmm

Tell her you won't go in her drawers if she stays out of yours and give her a laundry basket.

At 15 she really should be washing her own underclothes. It's not nice for someone else to do it, a matter of self respect. Have a talk with her about that, give her a little bowl and some washing stuff and she can do them in the bathroom at bedtime.. Also not to put worn clothes in a drawer with clean stuff. Yeuch.

Sometimes people's laundry gets mixed up so I wouldn't read too much into her having a pair of your drawers in her drawers - it happens. Tell her about it though and emphasise what a bad thing it is to wear someone else's pants. However, going through her drawer is somewhat intrusive. If she gets her act together, you won't have to.

Your step daughter has been wearing your underwear and then keeping it dirty in a drawer? Ewww! That's really unacceptable. She shouldn't be taking your clothes and then wearing them and no-one should wear another's underwear - esp. g-strings - that's really unhygienic.

90percentvodka10percenthuman · 23/01/2019 15:17

Who still calls them g-strings?

Hi all,
This poster has a decent history with us and while we can never vouch 100% for our members, we're inclined to think that she is on the level. Thanks to all those who reported and didn't post about it, we do appreciate it because it makes things much easier when investigating.

I think people should post about it as well as report to warn others who don't realise and they innocently start sharing any details of things in their own life. Who on earth posts stuff like this if it's real?

you cant think why people might think this is a troll post?

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/01/2019 15:29

She's 15. Don't go in her room, never mind her drawers, and tell her to do her own laundry.

Juells · 23/01/2019 15:34

G-strings? Isn't that something American strippers wear? Grin

Why would anyone buy a 15-year-old thongs at all, never mind designer thongs?

All very strange.
